  • Watch our playthrough of Letters From Whitechapel, the board game published by Fantasy Flight Games. I filmed the first night only. Maybe Jack (‪@fenirob‬) will make it back to his hideout and live another day, or maybe the Detectives (Jo and Adam) will capture him, ending his reign of terror quickly. Tune in to find out!
    Game discussion and recap: 45:47 (obviously spoilers)
    RULES Note: All investigators are supposed to finish moving before any clues are looked for or arrests are made. Given this was Jo’s and Adam’s first time playing it was probably a good equalizer.

    You used the fast move tokens too early. Using 2 at start and then hanging on to them for crunch time always work out better. The police also got to make investigations for clues/accuse after each move, they should all move before they accuse. That way they cannot act on prior knowledge on moves on the same turn. We also have a house rule that all police have to make their moves, then accuse/arrest and only get to discuss after that, right before Jack gets his next move. It makes for faster playing, less influence from other police. Good game!

      Good observations. The Police players had never played before so I don’t feel TOO bad for the move/accuse screw up. But that was definitely a factor. Thanks for watching and commenting. 🙏

    You would’ve gotten away with it if it hadn’t been for those meddling kids.

    This is my favorite game ever. Been a few years since ive played and watching your video brought back all the memories. I felt nervous for Jack right off the bat. Thanks for the video.

      I have often called it my favorite when pressed for one. Not too many games that make me feel physical stress like playing as Jack. If you felt nervous watching, how do you think I felt!? I will be doing a top ten all time video soon and I still don't know where it will finish, but it will certainly be in the top half. Thanks for watching and commenting. I am glad you enjoyed it. And thanks so much for subscribing. Happy New Year!

      You're never too late (unless, possibly, you're trying to catch JTR). Have fun. It's one of my all time favorite games. (Also, don't forget to subscribe). 😃

    GG! This game is hard to win as Jack, I've only managed to do it twice against my friends.

    Loved the video! I noticed that you made a slight mistake with the rules which caused the game to be much harder for you. The detectives must move all pawns before they can investigate or arrest, meaning they can't use the movement of one pawn to influence the movement of the next in the same round. With this change i think you would have survived the night !

      Thanks for catching that. That will help me sleep better! Also, glad you enjoyed the video. If you haven’t please consider subscribing to the channel.

    I'm pretty sure Jack can't use the same space twice in one night.

      I don’t think that is correct. boardgamegeek.com/thread/1529434/three-questions-about-movement

      Hmm, I pulled out my own rule book. And even looked online. And it seems I was mistaken. It's been a while since I last played it. And I've always played while assuming that was a rule.
      I think I may have gotten confused with the rule for the carriage.

      @fenirob  ปีที่แล้ว

      @@TalsarGeldon it was probably the carriage rule that was the culprit. At least now you know! Thanks for watching and for the discussion. 🍻
