This is beautiful country if you lkje desert mountains. Very rugged. Pickles used to love when we came back from an outing. We had to put her down last September at age 21. She had a great life😻🐈 Thanks for the comment, JD!
Another great tour! You two must be in top shape. Nice to see you have your cat along. I noticed a cat in the window at the beginning of the video. We are cat lovers too. They are the best! I've had dogs too, and they are wonderful, but a dog will find any building or vehicle too small. Where a cat is comfortable in the huge universe of the inside of an RV or small cabin. Keep up the good work!
Pickles the cat just turned 19 years old and we got her when she was only 5 weeks old. She has been around the western half of the U.S. four times. She goes out at every stop to explore and loves it. We are still pretty good hikers and that’s half the fun of these mine visits. Thanks for watching!
I know where Mitchell Caverns is located at, but I never heard of this particular mine. I do know that the Bonanza King Mine is in that same area, I think. But I’m not exactly sure where you are. I gave up on the Mojave Preserve about six years ago because they were gating all the mines like crazy inside the Preserve. Looks like you managed to find a small one that was still open. I was shocked to see that! Those large pipes were interesting to see.
I might have missed something here with the presence of the large casings or pipes, machinery base, plus the one other piece of equipment which I'm not sure what it is, and what they were used for. There were more workings up the hill that we skipped. There might be a shaft somewhere that is covered over. We will spend some time in the Preserve again soon to see what we can find. Thanks for watching and commenting, Frank!
I will never understand a thumbs down on a mine video, unless you do something stupid, as a fellow explorer, we didn't make the mines, we don't know what's inside. You get to come along with us and see what we see, it is what it is.
Yeah, I hear ya. Sometimes the lighting isn't right and you get a thumbs down. I think that is what happened on this one. I had a new light that was too bright. Did you see my comment to you on my Monarch Mine video? I was asking if you would watch my video titled 'Lincoln Boys Mine' and see if anything looks familiar to you. Thanks, Ken!
First time watchin. I like the bike for sure. Two things you need for mine explorin thou, a flash light with a flood light setting and an oxygen monitor. The flood light will light up the mine and you won't get the reflection/glare in the camera like with a spot light setting. And the monitor for yalls safety. Just ideas for yall, don't know how much mine explorin yall do. Be safe out there
Good advice ,Lee. We use an oxygen monitor. We have quite a variety of lights. On this particular explore I was using a powerful spot that I have since made a diffuser for and now it works great. Thanks for watching and for your suggestions. I hope you will watch some of our other mine explores.
That's our old girl, Pickles. She is going on 19 years old and has been around the country four times. Glad to hear that you have cats, too. Thanks for the comment, Ronnie!
Been watching your vids for the last couple hours ,well done . Enjoy watching adventures I'm not able too due to health, but had my own though ..used to work underground in a coal mine . Must say too that the length of them is great too . Thanks and stay safe during your travels.
Hey Tom, nice adventure for the both of you. looks like the remnants of a winch back at the cabin. Makes one wonder at what spot it was used in this complex. BTW, do not really understand why the views on the mine videos are where they are at. ?? I've seen some vids that, in my opinion, are a third of the quality of yours with seven times the count. Me thinks the ol' algorithm is given you a bum rap. These must have been programed with "pretzel logic". Regardless, enjoy them all.
I'm not sure what else was going on at this mine regarding the machinery base and other piece of equipment near the cabin. There are also some large diameter pipe or casings nearby. I thought there was going to be a portal a short way behind the cabin in a grown over area, but I couldn't find it and assumed it was a small open cut. It's possible there is a shaft that I missed. There are also some workings higher up the hill that we didn't get to. Thanks for the kind words about view counts. If a particular video isn't suggested by TH-cam you won't get many views. I don't pretend to understand their ranking system. I try to do the best I can at all the common things available to get my videos ranked higher but many get buried. I'm hoping that if I build it they(views) will come. Thanks for watching, David.
What would the old miners have done if they couldn't have dynamite. Have any ancient mines been found? (pre-european invasion) Ancient people must have found semi precious stone, silver and gold somewhere.
Dynamite surely made the excavation easier. I suppose a pick and a shovel did the job before dynamite. Good wuestion about ancient mines and miners. I know gold has been used for a long time. It would be interesting to find out how they found it early on. Thanks for the comment, Patrice!
Good one guy's, loved the hike, great seanerry, love the desert.
Yes, this was a fun hike. Thanks, David.
I feel like a hot potato,, my vehicle burned in a fire, needs to be restored,,, will get after it soon as my garage is rebuilt. Nice videos ,,
Sorry to hear that news. Hope you can get back to normal soon.

@@TomandJulieMineExploring What a Great Long Life She Had!
Felt like I was was watching the sun move inside of the tunnel with the focused beam of light !
The lighting on this one wasn't very good. This is an older video, and we have it dialed in better now. Thanks for the comment, Ray.👌

Pretty good hike... Not much to see at the mine..
Fun hike and Edgar Peak is pretty impressive in person. The mine workings, while not huge, were enough to be satisfying. Thanks for watching, Max!
how long were you out there that day?
About six hours.

was this a silver mine tom?
Yes, I believe it was primarily a silver mine. A lot of times lead was mined along with silver, too.
Love your hiking videos. This is another great one
Thanks for watching and commenting!
Why don't you wear helmets?
We do now. Thanks for the comment!
