It'll be a lot harder to get to 10,000 career rushing yards just because so many less teams emphasize the running game like they used to. Derrick Henry is the only NFL running back right now that I can see actually getting to 10,000 yards rushing.
One thing I’ve realized recently is how important it is for many RBs to gradually learn the league and not be thrown in there right at the start with a max workload. Sometimes throwing them in there works out, there are some great rookie RB seasons, but for some players, like Derrick Henry and here Thomas Jones, it seems like it helped their career a lot to take it slow at the beginning. I feel like Dameon Pierce is in that latter group where it would help him a lot.
@@skippythealien9627 You leave the Patriots with Parcells to join the enemy? Nah ,that dude has been dead to me since the late 90's. It took me a decade to forgive Ty Law lol.
I was so upset with the Bears. When they basically traded away Jones because they wanted Cedric Benson to be the premier back. Heck, Thomas Jones was already the premier back. Heck who drafts a running back and really had no need to??🤔 Oh yeah the Chicago Bears do dumb s&+t, like that 🤷
I remember that and Benson was the more talented back. Jones was a workhorse though but you had to go with Benson at that time and he produced for a while.
Frank Gore and Emmitt Smith are ahea.d of Barry Sanders, BUT Gore played 16 years and Smith 15 years and Barry only played 10. Thats right Emmit Smith and Frank Gore had to play 150% and 160% longer than Barry Just to best his Numbers. Also Barry Gave AWAY the 1989 Rush Title and the Career Rushing Title and Still was a HOFer in his 30s.
Agreed plus HOF QB & WR to move S. Plus OL to move DL. Sanders is the best ever. Big 49ers fan Gore was special but Sanders was supernatural in that era DL & LBs we’re monsters.
Please believe it was the NFL Followed CFB namely the B12 where the QBs were passing for 4K or more a season. B12 changed CFB and CFB changed the NFL. Failed offensive minded HCs like Lane Kiffin became needed again to enact a B12 Offense in the SEC.

I’d throw Zeke in there tbh, in a 2rb system he has nearly 900 yards, 2-3 more mostly healthy seasons and he could very well hit that number
Thomas Jones was a beast. He got those 10k yds quietly too. His lil bro was good too.
Who’s his lil bro?
@@varciar7274 Julius Jones. He was a starter for the Cowboys
My first jersey purchase ever was this man’s jersey when I was like 10 or 11. TJ is the man! Bear Down 🐻⬇️
I loved him man... grew up a cowboys fan but Jones is one of the few players that I followed his career no matter where he went.
10k rushing yards in modern football is going to end up being a hall of fame shoe-in
Any time I played Madden Franchise Mode I would trade for Thomas Jones. True workhorse back.
such a soft spoken and humble person but this dude was a reliable running back

TJ may be the only Jets player I remember liking while he played there. As a life long Patriots fan that says a lot.
Not Curtis Martin????!!! Dude is one of the most inspiring football stories ever

That's real talk tho, bro.
And they KEEP doing it...

I am still mad!
One of my favorite players of all time
Such a nice guy
most underrated rb of all time
agree
Got to support the home town boy. Watched him from high school to the NFL. Powell valley viking. All day
Underrated beast
I absolutely love Thomas Jones! His style of running excites me. I'm also a Bears fan , so I am a bit biased.
Thomas Jones was so underappreciated when he was a Bear here. His running game kept that Super Bowl close when Grossman was playing like a crackhead
Thomas Jones is one of those dudes I want next to me in the SHIELD WALL!!
One of my favorite backs to watch.
I uses to love watching this guy when I was like 15
Great interview!
It was always a good Sunday when Mr Jones was on the field
Dude was a beast!!!
Good interview
I though Jones looked familiar when I saw him in Power.
This dude was impressive in Luke Cage Season 2.
dude was a beast
Thomas is a good dude. 👍
Only 31 people have accomplished that...respect Thomas Jones.
OG 💪🏼
