Hi Mike! Would you consider adding the names of dishes on the screen in writing when you show them? It would be really helpful for viewers like me who are hard of hearing. Love your content!
I love the spicy Sichuan food. As an Englishman, I have to ask at the take-away for authentic Sichuan because they always tone it down for the English who can't handle spicy food. I spent most of my early life in the Far East in Malaysia and Singapore so I'm quite used to some really spicy stuff. Sichuan has always ranked number 1 on my Chinese cuisine list of best foods.
@@joeboii1able Some can, but the majority can't. Chinese take-aways have learned to ease off on the chilli because of this. I spent many years in Asia so I'm used to it and I can't get enough of the spicy foods. If it's not at least Scotch Bonnet strength, I can't even taste the spicy flavour. The same goes for Indian Take-aways, it makes me laugh when English rave about Vindaloo (remember the football song), but they wouldn't be be to handle a REAL Vindaloo.
Hi Mikey! Fellow Singaporean here - if you're a big fan of braised pig trotters I'd highly recommend Eng Kee Bak Kut Teh, at Teck Ghee Court Market and Food Centre! It's absolutely yummy :') enjoy your stay in sg!!
@@heythave its called hor fun locally and you can just google for the best. i find that no one place serves it the BEST, the top 10 all tastes equally as good.
I never had Sichuan until my GF brought me to one. Unfortunately she didnt tell me about not eating the peppers and peppercorns in the sichuan soup. Fondest memory ever was feeling nausea from my peppery, floral filled aroma burps as my stomach was burning from the spices. Ahh what a memorable experience with Sichuan food.
Thanks very much for your recommendation, Mikey! We just tried the buffet at Sichuan Dou Hua, and it is AMAZING! We will certainly be back! Btw, the restaurant is at level 3 of Park Royal Hotel on Kitchener Road…
My goodness, I bet the wait staff were in awe of your and Miss Christine's eating prowess! Those dumplings that made you say OMG in particular looked great. And those moon cakes...OOF. They looked amazing. Did Miss Christine like them as much as you did?
@@greggaldridge Why wouldn't they be, she doesn't have to travel literally everywhere in the world with Mike, that would be exhausting. She's probably just at home doing her own thing, it's not like she doesn't have a life of her own

Hey Mikey! If you love 月饼、 I suggest that you and Christine take a little tour at Takashimaya (Ngee Ann City) shopping mall atrium in basement 2 (orchard MRT station) where you can view all the various mooncake vendors at once and I’m not sure if sampling has resumed (since Covid) but if there is, you’re in for a treat!

I think the pork roll is made with a filling like a XLB (Gelatinized sauce and meat), chilled, shaped and rolled in a rice paper, then folded over fresh mantou dough before steaming
Sooo, how's Dan been doing? I saw him about two years ago on tv commercial about glasses. But now I see he is in real estate working for Corcoran in New York. Was that where his heart really was....in real estate? I used to watch you guys all the time. I loved Double Chen. You guys were funny! I miss those times, you and Dan. Stay blessed. 😎
Pandan leaves as a flavouring aren't that widespread outside South and Southeast Asia. It smells the same as fragrant rice though. You should be familiar with that.
You know I've been watching for years and this is the first time I saw that you actually left food behind I remember like in past videos you reminded of how broke you used to be and you would never let a Dish Go uneaten if you were paying for it
If your ever in Fresno stop by Hunan Chinese restaurant! I want to see your rating/opinions on it. It supposedly the #1 Chinese restaurant in Fresno and see if it can live up to its name.
I enjoy this channel still, but I highly recommend DancingBacons! No talking, showcasing food all around the world from unique vending machines, to unique instant meals, to street food, to fancy dining. It’s a great channel!
What does a typical jellyfish taste like? What’s the texture of it? This is the first time I’ve seen it eaten and was just curious for anyone who may know.
Thanks for sharing this vlog . I really enjoyed every bit of it. Also, I used a VPN to access your vlog as it was mentioned by a friend of mine. From where I belong TH-cam is quite restricted and the only turnaround is a VPN. The VPN that I used to access your vlog was Ivacy VPN.
