Its gotta go out for bathroom breaks. Better keep it on a VERY short leash...which can be yanked back in the house at a moments notice! Definitely supervised potty time.
If your dog is used to going out in the yard, you can't expect it to all of a sudden stay in the house. It will have one thing on its mind, going out in the yard, so it will be barking and scratching at the door constantly, which will drive you nuts. It's not like you can sit it down and explain how dangerous😢 bears are 😅.

The bear did understand he wasn't welcome... this is what you're supposed to do if a black bear approaches you. Strongly tell him no, clap, growl or something similar. They're skittish so they'll go away.

I grew up living around black bears. Black bears are like big dogs. They won't hurt you if they have no cubs. This is obviously a younger black bear who poses nearly zero danger to animals or humans. They really don't have an interest in being around people to harm them. They are very curious and will sonder into your campsite, walk up into your yard, and if you don't react they just sniff around. So, if you see a black bear on a hiking trail and they have no cubs and it's not mating season just ignore them. They've got zero interest in you other than maybe some curiosity.

The bear did understand he wasn't welcome... this is what you're supposed to do if a black bear approaches you. Strongly tell him no, clap, growl or something similar. They're skittish so they'll go away.

I grew up living around black bears. Black bears are like big dogs. They won't hurt you if they have no cubs. This is obviously a younger black bear who poses nearly zero danger to animals or humans. They really don't have an interest in being around people to harm them. They are very curious and will sonder into your campsite, walk up into your yard, and if you don't react they just sniff around. So, if you see a black bear on a hiking trail and they have no cubs and it's not mating season just ignore them. They've got zero interest in you other than maybe some curiosity.
That's one strong looking fence right there. Takes a bear like no problem.
