Took me 3 days to get the first lick down.1st 2 Days had the picking pattern down still sounded like jibberish.But when I sped up the first half and hammered the D string it came togeather. Thanks Ben fantastic job

Another possibility is to hit the c bass note with your 4th finger (6 string 8th fret)when going to the four chord .puts you right in position for c triad to F/C. Smoother transition..Great lesson
Better yet when you get to the C chord make it a C/E in 5th position...same thing when you get to the D chord play it as a D/F# in 7th position..nice tele by the way..Thank you ....Thank You very much

Thanks! BTW the second chord can be played in much easier way, play the C root with 8th fret on the low E while barring D string, G string, B string on the 5th fret with the index finger... Thanks to sultan swings for teaching me that way of playing some chords lol

It was never done the same way live. The timing was totally different in the recorded version. I've seen another progression which sounds more accurate but it's not 1st position chords like this lesson, which BTW sounds cheesy.

My strum hand is not hand I write with... Am messed up Ambidextrous from birth... Tough with hands when is my arms and shoulders I have most coordination. Very tough with intricate strum picking with a pick.. Best with no pick and nails...Still trying!!!Great job here

Took me 3 days to get the first lick down.1st 2 Days had the picking pattern down still sounded like jibberish.But when I sped up the first half and hammered the D string it came togeather. Thanks Ben fantastic job

Another possibility is to hit the c bass note with your 4th finger (6 string 8th fret)when going to the four chord .puts you right in position for c triad to F/C. Smoother transition..Great lesson
Better yet when you get to the C chord make it a C/E in 5th position...same thing when you get to the D chord play it as a D/F# in 7th position..nice tele by the way..Thank you ....Thank You very much

Wauw great tune but the C part is so difficult
Thanks a lot, I’ve been faking that for a long time. The guitar part was composed and played by the great Reggie Young on the recording, but James Burton copied it for live gigs as it was such a big part of the song….not that Mr Burton couldn’t have substituted something cool. Love em’ both.

Thanks! BTW the second chord can be played in much easier way, play the C root with 8th fret on the low E while barring D string, G string, B string on the 5th fret with the index finger... Thanks to sultan swings for teaching me that way of playing some chords lol

Ben is correct the way he's teaching is how Burton played it as a touring musician...And yes it was Reggie who played on the original recording and he played it totally differently...But I like both versions

Georg Reiterer some people on youtube just dont get the correct info
James Burton played it on all the live performances.
It was never done the same way live. The timing was totally different in the recorded version. I've seen another progression which sounds more accurate but it's not 1st position chords like this lesson, which BTW sounds cheesy.
Reggie played it once, that is classic. James played it a thousand times.
You are correct Georg.tho the version being taught here is more how James played it live with E.

Tough with hands when is my arms and shoulders I have most coordination.
Very tough with intricate strum picking with a pick..
