  • As resellers many of us tend to get stuck in our ways or have a belief that what has worked all along will continue to work regardless of the many changing elements within the world or ever changing market around us. Change is constant and being in tune and open to making changes with your business will separate the ones who make it vs those who don't. Join us for a conversation where we get a little uncomfortable dealing with what we don't know. As always, join us for the conversation down below...

    As to the Shopify fee, the 3% is a transaction fee and you only pay that if they buy on Shopify directly. Also with the tax side, you only pay where you have nexus. Different states have different rules but it’s not as complicated as it sounds

    I received a collectible figure for my grandson in a poly bag! Not even padded. Of course it came damaged. When I requested a replacement, the guy sent a totally different figure. Blocked

    How do you handle returns on a Shopify site? How to handle customer complaints/disputes etc.... Any recourse for them?

      I haven’t had any returns yet but I am using the same policies that I have on eBay. 60 day free returns, no questions asked. Chargebacks I will just have to swallow as theft. I try and make the billing line on their credit card very clear to minimize chargebacks.

    One of the most interesting reseller videos I have watched, in a long time. Thanks Josh for sharing your progress! I am blown away by what you have found regarding Google indexing and why some people might not be seeing results from the off-site ads thru eBay.

    As everyone considers cross posting to other sites I always wonder why eBay basically encourages the practice. Could it be that eBay attaches metadata to listings which creates a path for revenue even though the item is no longer on their platform? Is it better to list an item from scratch versus cross listing an item so that the listing “ originates “ in the new marketplace and is not contaminated from another site? Does the new marketplace know where the original listing came from? It just seems like all of the market place platforms are “ affiliates “ . As always great podcast-

    Absolutely brilliant and balanced podcast- you 3 each bring a unique mindset to the topic. I am deffo on side with marketing yourself and your own site rather than doing all that work to drive traffic to ebay!

      Hi Zee! I was thinking of you while watching this video. I don't remember how you did it, but I remember you talking about building your site and driving traffic. I hope all is well. :)

    ebay could set standards for packing, and have post and videos explaining all this...and outright prohibit certain practices. And THEN ebay should so random spot purchases....If a seller, for example, sends a Ground Advantage to ebay's secret buyer, filled with crumpled Priority Mailers, ebay should take action.

    I disagree with blaming ebay for not telling you what is needed for good off-site ads performance. They do, it's called filling in your item specifics as much and as accurately as possible. Ebay reminds you to complete these fields constantly. I'm averaging over a $35 ROAS with off-site ads.
    It's basic garbage in and garbage out.
    There is no way you can convince me someone pushing out 100+ listings a day to maintain a 15k+ item store is creating good, optimized listings. At some point we as sellers need to stop looking for excuses to blame ebay or anything else and take it upon yourself to be successful.

      How do you fill in a UPC from an antique item?

    • @robsomething4435
      @robsomething4435 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@inittoflipit2052 you don't. But it's key to fill in all the items specifics you do have. Every piece of valid information you provide will only benefit you.
      Remenber there are required item specifics and recommended specifics. I'm referring to the recommended. Most people neglect them, but they do help in search and indexing. Don't force an answer for each, just fill in what you know. Color, measurements, year made (if known), weight, etc. It only adds about 30 seconds to my listing time and I firmly believe its why I capture sales over my competition in the category I sell in as well as why my off-site ad campaign has been so successful for me.
      As mentioned in the video, you have to be willing to do the work that others aren't. This is just one of those low hanging fruit opportunities.
