Here's to hoping @fieldpiece instruments checks the comments. This micron gauge (mg44) has a serious is with temperature written it comes to the micron level it displays. The issue with the temperature of the sensor is so bad that if you are pulling a vacuum outside and the sun is hitting the micron gauge your reading might be 1000 microns or more higher than the actual state of the system and that can be easily demonstrated by putting a sunshade in front of the gauge and stopping sunlight from directly hitting it. The big problem for someone in colder climates is that the gauge has high potential to report a much lower vacuum level than the system has actually achieved. Hopefully @fieldpiece instruments can address this with a version 2.0 or something like that.

Could you do the same with the pressure probes? Put a screen on the pressure probes showing the pressures.

Leaking from day 1, got mine from Johnston's Supply, took it out on the field on a new install, it reached 2800 microns and no more, I thought I had a leak on the system, after waisting a lot of time I decided to connect my old cps-vg200 and pulled down to 480 microns and it was holding for 20 minutes (decay test), the next day I returned it to the store, they got me a replacement one, same thing happened all over again, brand new out of the box and leaking, returned it and got my money back.
I have all fieldpiece tools, digital gauges, scales, multimeter etc etc etc with zero problems, except their vacuum gauges they are junk. So if you buy one, ask about the return policy, you probably gonna need it.

@@FieldpieceProducts I did call you, "Chris" in California answer the phone, he wanted to argue with me, defensive, instead of providing any customer service or solutions, after a couple of minutes I told him I wasn't interested in arguing about it, at that point I just wanted my money back, he said to take the vacuum gauge to the store and call from there, so I did.
I've been in business for over 16 years, I owe all fieldpiece tools and I have other brands as well and if I say something is broken, is because is broken, you know, you get experience after the years, specially while on the field, on rooftops at 130°F, you should provide "Chris" with a customer service class. So he can stop arguing with customers.

I got mine today (I’m in Australia) and I was wondering why you @fieldpiece put the MG44 directly on the unit. By doing this when you open the line set to release the refrigerant it will obviously go into the MG44. Will refrigerant ruin it if it gets into positive pressure?

I bought this mg44 micron gauge along with the fieldpiece wireless gauges about 3 months ago. I love the gauges/clamps and probes but this vacuum micron gauge hasn’t worked once yet and not for the lack of effort, I’ve hooked it up on every port and even to the pump and got nothing but lines. I was convinced that my old vacuum pump must not be sufficient anymore so I bought the Fieldpiece vp67. So I knew this pump would make the gauge read….but nothing. It’s on and the tips and everything look good. Any advice? The guy at the sales counter looked confused on purpose

The only problems I have with this gauge reading micron level is that the sensor is entirely temperature dependent and if you're in a hot environment it will artificially read a higher micron level.

@@eco-solutionsllc4412 never once has it worked. I’ve quit trying and use my SMAN gauges since the micron gauge is built in. I really should try and have them fix it, sounds like we both got a dud.

Unfortunately integration with the fieldpiece app is a nightmare. I can't for the life of me figure out how to show in microns instead of mmHg. So I had to keep checking the Guage. Can't find help on the website or anywhere. Definitely a bit annoying.

Decay test is to pull a strong vacuum and valve off the vacuum pump before turning it off. Then wait a hour or so to see if the pressure rises.
