All the people saying to split the main power cable away from the rca cables, that used to be a problem years ago but all the wires are top quality and amp has built in functions to stop any interference through the sub. There will be no engine noise through the sub or any indicators clicking so chill out. When this was a problem years ago you would fit a suppressor onto the stereo but it's all built in now. Happy dayss🚗🚗🚗😇

Black Crown sounds like it could be a bad earth, tell him to pull the fuse out of the amp and see if it still happens through speakers running from the head unit and not the amp. This will help diagnose if interference is through the stereo or through the amp. I hope this helps diagnose the problem. 😊🤞

Happened to me in my 2010 Malibu. It drove me crazy until finally I pulled the RCAs and ran them down the passenger side. Fixed it right away.
I have had said issue with my set up atm i had to run my power downvthe driver side and my rca down the drive shaft hub passenger side cuz it was still happening onvthe driver side so yes this is still a "problem" with the "New stuff"

I've got a P3D4-10 in a sealed box with polyfil in a dodge truck on an Alpine MRV-M500, with 4 gauge power/ground OFC and 12 AWG speaker wire with Silver RCA wires. Somebody thought it was a 12".

I had the same amp. I love Rockford cause they do always underrate their amps. (Like jl, alpine and RE) but i blew mine up. I didn't do anything wrong i just got a faulty model and i returned it for warranty and the scam shop i bought it from said they couldn't get me the same model so they gave me instead a 300 watt power series amp which i sold for more than i bought the first amp for.

Just purchased the same setup and I'm f__kin' PUMPED! Couldn't agree more on your recommendation of copper wiring. I normally buy welding cable by the foot. It's available in any gauge you want, as long as you don't mind a black power-wire!

I just bought a pair of rockford fosgate p3 shadow mount 10in in a custom box firing down for my 2016 Chevy Colorado. Its power by a rockford prime R1200.1 amp. The amp gets hot so quickly..any info why? My setup was professionally installed from a local car audio. Im using my stock deck

I bought 2 4 ohm p3s series parallel since they are dual vc.
I get absolutely no highs and some midst.... Any solutions? I have more than enough power running to it. My dad said something about a bridgeable crossover to "push the highs"

signal wires zip tied right next to the 4gage power wires. ? what shop did this ? you will get some nasty noise into the signal wire from the high power wire !!

So are you happy with the match between the sub and amp? I'm looking at the exact same set up but with the sub peaking at 1000w and rms of 500w I kind of want more than just 500w. Also I couldn't really watch the video because at work I have no speakers xP. But just let me know what your opinion is, should I go with the same amp or maybe a kicker cx600?
Yeah, i'm happy. It's a awesome amp. It supply the sub with plenty of power. I definitely recommend. It still hitting hard and clear to this day

Hey bro, get a ported box, and make sure you are maxxing your amp out with dual voice coil sub if you are running a single woofer. Dual 2 ohm subs will max out a high end amp, dual 4 ohm sub maxxes out most budget amps. (2 ohm and 1ohm stable amps )

Hey dude. Great Vid. Glad I saw it. Right now I'm choosing between this and JL's 10w6v3. I know the JL's are better, but I don't know if it's that much better or if its worth it considering how high the JL's are priced. Your setup sounds clean and was going to pair it with that amp as well.
How big is your box btw? 1cubic feet?

Jerome Junior If you want to spend the money on a killer sub, my home state represents Sundown Audio. when you can, go look at a Sundown Audio SA rev 3 12. 750 watts RMS and the loudest 12 I've ever heard for $200. Kicker is too mainstream my dude and isn't worth the money. my top brands for car audio.

Fosgate makes a great wiring kit for there AMPS.
I've used em but they are not OFC use welding wire if you want something better and cheaper.
My remote doesn't do anything. It's plugged in and lights up but doesn't change sound. Any help greatly appreciated
The knob that comes with the amp is a gain knob not a bass knob. Set your gain on the amp after you plug in the knob and make sure the knob is turned to max. Then when you’re done the knob will adjust the gain to your sub which gives the sub more power or less power. But be careful cuz adjusting gain could damage the sub.

The sub is dual 4 ohms and is wire down to 2 ohms.
If the amp is 600 rms at 2 ohms, and the sub is 4 ohm, it's only getting half power?
They are dvc 4ohm so it will hit harder.

just get a black permanent marker for the led bro, a few coats or a paint pen would be better, like the touch up ones. No more annoying blue light, or if you like a little blue then just scratch a tiny spot off the paint or ink.
Is your gain set to 6? I’m trying to find the sweet spot for my P2 10” on a prime amp.
Your gain will have to be set differently. I'm running a P3, which handles more power. Plus, not all amps (even if they're the same model) output the same RMS levels.
I know its been 3 years but how did this setup sound? I have literally the same sub amp box been lazy but about to install mine did you mind it sealed this will be my first Rockford sealed instead of ported.

Hey guys, so i am putting together my first system and i am just a bit confused here. You said not to use AWG wire but to use OFC wire instead. SO i thought AWG is the acronym for American Wire Gauge which is a classification of who thick the conductor is. I also thought that OFC meant Oxygen Free Copper, referring to the material that the conductor is made from. So can i use 4 AWG OFC cable for the power and ground for my system or have i missed something here?
In the video i meant to say use OFC wire instead of CCA. I posted a banner in the video mentioning that. Also, You are correct about the acronym and yes you can use 4 AWG OFC

Also, is that box sealed or ported? It looks sealed to me, and if it is, then i'm def. surprised it goes that low.
I still have the sub, but it's not in any car now (I might decide to put it in my wife car). I upgraded to a 12 inch L7R in a ported enclosure.

Michael U the reason it heats up quick and doesn't sound good in the mid bass is because of the aluminum cone.
Sealed gives u more range less knock. Ported and tuned gives you less range. More knock.

Kept everything stock. The factory pioneer is already good, no need to upgrade.
Jerome Junior okay so I have a question. Monday I’m getting this sub installed with a 5 channel Rockford Fosgate amp, they are going to wire the current speakers to it. They said they will adjust the gain and frequency so I don’t blow them. Do you think that’s correct? Do you have your speakers on an amp or stock and is it enough, loudness wise since the sub was added? Thanks!
I left the speakers on the stock amp that came with the car. They are definitely loud enough... so let me tell you how the factory system is wire... The front stage (the tweeters, 4 inch, and 5x7's) is on a dedicated amp located under the passenger front seat, that's why it sounds so powerful. The rear stage ( the two 6.5inch ) are being power off the radio. You really honestly only need to put the rear on the amp. I wouldn't do the front, because the way they're wired.
Jerome Junior well see I had a KENWOOD Dmx957xr put in, for the CarPlay and they had to bypass the stock amp, the sound imo went south because it’s like the subs now have vocals coming thru and the mids are not clear as they use to be, the rear is not loud at all. Seems the only way to fix it is to put in a new amp and rewire everything. I don’t have enough now for new speakers, that’s why they said to keep the stock because they are good and just amplify them with clean power and signal. I’m kinda worried because I don’t want to blow them anytime soon, but I just want the clear sound back. The agreed that replacing the whole speaker set up could cost money because of the 3 way fronts and how they are wired. I’m praying everything goes smooth Monday. I really don’t blast them and just hope the new RF P2 10” will be enough to round out the sound.
I run two of these with the R1200.1 and they thump hard. ones enough for you because of the hatchback but mines in the trunk of a Dodge Charger

Nice set up. . I have the same amp on a jl audio 10w6v3 in a jl audio basswedge. I have to run my gain all the way up for it to sound as loud as my factory highs. Are you having to do the same for your sub? My sub says 600 rms, so I know it can handle more power.
No. You should never have to run your gain all the way up
@@JeromeJunior yeah I ended up getting a lc2 converter. And had a shop set all the gains on the amp and lc2. Sounds great now. Except my rearview mirror fell off and now there's something rolling around my headliner now

you know very well if you have a rockford fosgate amp its gonna be more like 600 watts RMS when it says 500 watts. RF amps are underrated (power wise not popularity wise) and are possibly the best amps on the market.

Edrick Mendez I've listened to both A sealed and ported box. its honestly user preference. I like sealed boxes for many reason. the response time, and the ability to get really low, and amazing SQ. Ported boxes are honestly really good for SUVs and big ass cars. but both have their ups and downs

you say that it is the perfect match. really to let you know that it is not the perfect match but it is a good match. the perfect match would have been stick with all Prime, Punch or Power. if you run a Prime Amp Prime sub and so on and so on. this is the reason why they make it that way, so that it is to be put together. Im not saying that it will not work great, it is just that they make the components to match each other. This is the reason that i have all Punch Components. from Amps to subs and Comp 6" and 8" with their Comp Tweets. and their 12" 2 ohms. Other than that you got a great buy for your system. I have trusted RF for a long time.
No, your saying he should have gotten a punch amp since he is running a punch woofer? It doesn’t matter, he is powering that sub properly, it wouldn’t have made a difference if he got a punch amp, bass can only sound so clean, it would have just been more unessessarily expensive

LT. DAN no, its wired down to 2 ohms. Its impossible to wire one sub down to 1 ohms. It's a dual 4 ohms sub, not the dual 2 ohms model.
I agree with the amp to sub choice. It is good. But I wouldn't agree with the box. Saw you selecting a lot of hip hop and rnb. You should've gone with the ported box. That would make that "boom" sound that will push a lot of air. It would be just "deeper, boomier and richer" bass. And of course louder. So after you get bored of this sealed box, try out a custom ported box and I am sure you will love it.
Yea, I thought about going ported after I bought the enclosure. It's fine though, the reason I went for a 10 inch was to save on space anyways. I might consider switching enclosure in the future.
Jerome Junior fully agree. Originally I also was about to go with the 10inch, but finally I ended up with a 12 inch P3. I did sacrifice a lot of trunk space, and everyone was giving me hard time for that, but after having it for a year I came to realize that most of the time I am driving in my car alone and eventually my wife rides along with me. Don't use the trunk that often, so finally I am super happy I went with the 12 inch. Of course in ported box. However I like to see how happy you are with your set up! Rock on!
Jerome Junior I also have a scion tc..Rockford fosgate With a p3 1×12 and a Prime R7501D I was thinking about gettin a 10 but I had to have the 12...I was worried about space as well but I still have alot of space and I can always move the seat forward......I do have a question I ordered the mesh grill for my sub ...Do you know what size are the screws that I need to take off to insert the grill ? That would save me allot of time. ....Thanks

You need to separate your RCA’s from your power wire. That’s how u get crazy engine noise through your sub.
Don't get engine noises through subs.
You get crazy engine noise when your amp isn't properly grounded.

I just realized, why did you run you rca’s right next to your power cables. I can agree it looks nice and all, but you could get unwanted noise from the power cables.
I also saw the pinned comment, but not all amps have that feature.
Just in my opinion I wouldn’t run my rca’s right next my power even if my amp had the features to “eliminate” the noise.

The box isn't at all. Its the recommended size for a sealed 10inch p3 enclosure.

Petter Bakken Damn, what did you get for that 1,300? And my setup costed me $416 and I spend $75 on install. I shop around online and found the best deal I could on the stereo components
i live in europe, portugal. And my local car shop recommended focal speakers and tweaters and subwoofer. these guys know car audio so i trusted them and told them build me the best quality sound for 1300 euros. and voila. I also got a helix g5 amplifier. im not a car audio expert, but this is my first sound system so wanted to get some quality.

So when does mirror rattling constitute to sound quality. Your shit Malibu has stock and stock doesn't hold up to aftermarket like RF. You'll blow your speakers in no time.
I went with two p3 dvc 10 subs in separate ported boxes with 2 prime 500 powering each sub. I have to say that I'm disappointed.
