Your content just keeps getting better - love it!! I'll be on Yelinak so I can still spend the next several months dreaming about Zerker without my dreams getting crushed
You're so kind! Thank you very much. I hope you enjoy Yelinak! Zerkers are a class that take a while to come into their own but when they do...oh they're so much fun!! I'm considering popping over on Vaniki for a bit casually, perhaps as a beastlord.
I left EQ before Zerkers became a thing. From what I learned from your video with them being poor DPS until much later, combined with how progression servers fade out fast after PoP, I wonder if playing one is even worth it. One of the things I loved most about EQ back in the day was dps parsers really weren't a thing, and everyone got together and just had fun. Now with parsers, I wonder if it would be hard to get groups, raid spots, ect, Its tough playing these servers when it takes some classes a while to come into their own and others are amazing from day one. I think it frustrates people.
Berserkers are definitely a slow burn class but they are fun and they're one of the easiest to learn from expansion to expansion and you get a new toy each expansion. So it has some nice rewards sticking with it. There comes a point where you'll essentially be behind Monks and Necromancers for DPS but those two are just very potent classes. And I agree with you, while I personally loved parsers and they taught me about my class and how to play it better, I saw the negative effects with some classes finding it more difficult to get groups than others. I personally loved the bererker, especially with how quirky some of the dps skills are. I will never forget a fight that had blind, while also using blinding fury and not knowing whether I was blinding myself, or the fight was blinding me.
Vaniki's pacing will be interesting. It's pretty fast with the expansion locks and relaxed truebox. I'm not sure how the spells will work out and if that will negatively impact melee. I'm curious to see. Hah and sorry about the mistake with the beast lord!
I made a Zerker called Gundamn.. got angry tells cause some lady thought it was Goddamn. Ive not messed with new zerker on live. I enjoyed throwing axes and diving onto the tips of swords smiling
I got a berserker from launch to about lev 40 and got bored with it and went back to cleric (didn't hate zerkers, just like casting more. which server do you think will have more players? Vaniki or yelinak?
Berserker is very tame for a while. It's a class that needs it's aa's to really set itself apart from "Warrior with no taunt." If I were to bet on one of the two servers I'd say Vaniki will have more at launch just because it's something different but I expect both to be healthy if not explosive with population. There's a lot of people on other progression servers at various stages.
hehe have fun man. and ive seen far more cringy WWF wrestlers. but i sorta came to the realization that no server can adequately deliver EQ to me anymore. tried all the MMOs - all unsatisfying. So until Pantheon renews my love for MMORPG's gonna play single player RPG's. just discovered there was a free emu for Breath of the Wild and im deep in love with that.
Haha thank you! and Oh, have you heard of this small indie single player game, Elden Ring? It's pretty damn good... V Rising looks like it could fun as well if you're looking for a survival game!
@@Redbeardflynn not into Elden Ring style game. never really got attracted to Dark Souls either. V Rising looks interesting though. might try it after I tackle Breath of the Wild. i loathe anime but Breath of the Wild is pretty fantastic. also finally getting done with Pillars of Eternity... and then theres Pathfinder.... too many games man
Zerkers are probably gonna be the most played class on Vaniki - Everyone and their mother has been screaming for it, but at a max level 40 - It will be lackluster at best. I loved having a zerker in OoW with Epic 2.0, but honestly, before that point, it felt a little "meh". I'd play pretty much any other class over the zerker from the get go - IF i was gonna play Vaniki, which i wont. Yelinak is the choice, if i can overcome the idea that its gonna be so boring and done before - Good vid again mate :)
I actually meant to mention berserker 2.0 in here but it slipped my mind in the script process. The 2.0 is so nice because it's one of those epics that stays useful for it's effect for a very long time. I agree Zerkers felt a bit meh for a while. Dicho is when they just feel stupid OP, but that's not until TBM. Before that they still get some love in groups and raids and their skills are just so much fun. Blinding Fury I will always have a love/hate relationship with and I have so many death messages from Savage Spirit...
No there will be way too many berserkers. lol,not saying its a bad class at all just will be harder to find your niche early on vaniki because even rogues, have a utility.(dragging people around a dungeon for res in a camp) and of course monks pull,if you want to melee dps i would reccomend those 2 over beserker at least until 50+
I adore the Berserker but I agree with you. It's a slow-burn class that really needs later AAs like Savage Spirit, Blinding Fury and of course, Dicho. They can be a ton of fun on raids and in groups, though when they're ready.
That's fair. I feel lucky that I got to really experience so much of EQ with Phinigel. Getting essentially to live was an incredible experience. With one guild the whole way, too!

Shame, this looks like a fun class but seems rough to get into on Live, since nobody groups at lower levels.

You are better off playing a zerker on a test for free. That way you learn the class and see it shine
