This is actually how I did my first world conquest few years back. I thought to myself what would be most sensible way to own the whole world and found out that "The Empire" was a thing. Although it took me until 1948 to annex last tiny nations and seeing this done in 1944 is quite a feat. Also I did not go through civil war but rather occupied my dominions through decisions, none of them escaped my grasp.
I prefer that way because you dont have to garrison a lot of land, and you can use your puppet's divisions to conquer the US. Only thing I don't like about that path is that you can't enact the mosley plan
Changes for newest version (1.14.3) and unmentioned tips in the video: - Survivability studies is now a 1939 tech, research something else for the start (I picked Military Police, but it doesn't really matter) - Pick the bottom option when Ethiopia requests exile to refuse. - Pick the top option in The Montreux Convention, both outcomes will be the same but one gives you navy XP and the other gives you a stability drop so no point picking the stability drop. - Choose Reinforce the Empire as your focus before Organize the Blackshirts, otherwise you'll be locked out of it later since it requires a subject. I didn't do it in my first run and had to release a nation, do the focus, then work on re-annexing it. Make sure you don't release a commonwealth nation, otherwise they will declare independence... - During the civil war, Cumbria will always be given to the enemy, just mop it up with the northern divisions before sending the whole army south. You should have roughly 10 divisions attacking Cumbria and the rest attacking south, but it's really up to you as the civil war is pretty easy. - In the video the armies have a field marshal, this isn't available unless you promote one, keep this in mind. - When asked by Germany whether to join the Anti-Comintern pact, refuse. - France no longer guarantees Ireland. You'll have to manually justify on France, and that takes 125 days whether you're at war or not. - When Turkey presses the Hatay issue, choose the bottom option. - When he says "a few seconds later" about Canada declaring independence, the in-game time is a few weeks. BUT: - The pan-north american state trick has been patched. If you form it then re-conquer Canada, you will simply lose the cores on Canada. Not worth it, so just annex Canada and the US and don't release Canada.
- French guarantee -> in my game France guaranteed Ireland when i justified on them and did Ireland conquest focus, so i did not have to wait for justification on France to finnish. They did not guarantee when i only did Focus on Ireland, even after going in & out of the game. *to be honest, why tf do you patch something, that could be a cool feature/strategy with the pan-north ameican state
@@nomi4103 Yeah, I saw this comment a few days ago and came back to clarify that France does indeed guarantee on Ireland, but I guess the only caveat is that you need to have BOTH the Focus and the Guarantee up at the same time.
I really feel like there should be a way to declare war in HOI IV without the whole war-goal thing, or just an overhaul. It's kind of silly that even for retaking cores, that alone does not count as a war-goal, for example, and you still gotta "justify". I feel it makes a lot of sense in the early game, where theoretically, it makes sense that the rest of the world tells you "no", but for mopping up places to get a clean world conquest, it makes no sense AND feels like a pain. Something like how it works in EU IV would be neat; the option to declare a no cb war, maybe instead of hurting stability, it could just cost a ton of PP, because oftentimes with big nations, at the end, when you have basically already won anyway, you're stockpiling PP, because you can't use it up anyway. They could balance it in such a way to make it so pricy that even with that, you can't just go crazy with it, but for it to be something that just speeds up the whole cleanup process.
Or maybe make it not even cost much or just have the AI resign and surrender. Like, when you have conquered three full continents and declare on a minor like Denmark, they might just go "you know what? this is a foregone conclusion, we surrender". You know, just like how they've done IRL against a country that was barely started its WC attempt rolling.

I did my first world conquest this way last week. I was very pleased with myself even though it took me till 1969. I only have a couple hundred hours so need more practice to get the time down

Currently 1951, was thinking about capturing okinawa and Iwo Jima, but sadly, they managed to sneak by my navy and landed on all my eastern islands, starting a new game, but how do you get reinforce the empire? It needs at least one subject, but..... they get ANNEXED

Somehow this strat got even faster with france and USA, at least for me. Once i finished the civil war, US and France pressured me cause they didnt like how large my navy was, so basically said "make it smaller or we war" so i said no, so they said war, before i even started the ireland focus

In the Star Trek Mirror timeline the Terran Empire was formed somewhere between 1945-2060 but more likely in the 1939. The name of our planet is called Earth however the Latin name for Earth is Terra. So calling it the Terran Empire would be more welcoming to all humans.
