    I should probably add that I needed to buy a female USBA to male USBC adaptor to plug into my iPad. I couldn’t find a straight USBC to micro USB cord.

    I work on boilers and this will help on diagnostic problems on the pipping.
    Thank You

      I could see a use for checking the function of steam traps

    As always, your videos are great. I am very interested in this product. I have one ordered, and I do realize the possibilities of troubleshooting this could add. I would love to know how anyone uses this technology in HVAC specific issues.
    I watch all of your videos. I have been doing HVAC for almost 40 years, and I still learn watching others, and you help a lot also.
    I love doing this work, and do not plan on quitting.....I am 70 yrs old, and still figure I can work 15+ more years in the field.....just love working on this stuff.....and techs like yourself keep me inspired.
    If there are any other resources to learn more on using thermal imaging, I would love to know them.
    Thanks again.....keep doing the videos......It is nice to have a job you love doing, I am truly blessed
    Mike

    I have been looking at this and the flir phone model for some time. Mainly for the purpose of checking ceiling attic insulation and air sealing around ceiling fixtures etc. Energy assessment. If insulation or foam is needed to help with energy loss.

      I know. There are many practical uses of this in our field. I can’t believe I haven’t bought one before.

    Wish I had a tool like this 3 when in the field...Nice you can capture a image so it can be shown to a customer so they can get a better idea of issues within the unit....

    Thanks for the review, I have been considering picking one of these up because of how useful it would be to have but even though it is low cost for what it is they still are not cheap ($350 at my local united refrigeration). I think it would be great for finding restrictions in refrigeration systems (such as a solenoid not opening or a plugged cap tube) or a low charge issues without piercing into a system (I always try to avoid piercing a sealed system for no reason). I think this would also be great for diagnosis on steam systems to tell if the steam trap is bad or if a solenoid is not opening. Great little video and my wife might not like it but I might just have to pick one of these up.

    It's a great little tool, I'm able to store it in my bag and just bust it out as needed

    I have the same imager, mine seems to calibrate a lot when I’m doing annual panel scans, but overall it’s awesome amd compact

    In my opinion you have a bad breaker. The heat of the breaker is being sent down the line. Breaker go bad internally or where it slip on the buss bar. Ten dollars spend now could give you piece of mind. You could say the unit just pay for it self. Very good purchase.

    Would this be any good for checking supply air temp of a mini split? Looking for something fancy looking to add to my annual maintenance plans and to have a tool to clearly show customers different supply temps at different demand levels. Thanks!

    CAN IT SEE THROUGH WALLS?

    • @pomonabill220
      @pomonabill220 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      No. But it can see heat/cool inside the wall, like a duct running inside the wall.

    Can it see through walls? In floor heat?

    • @HVACGUY
      @HVACGUY  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      You might be able to see where heat is working and where it isn’t.

    Do you think you can use it to see where saturation is happening in a condenser?

    • @HVACGUY
      @HVACGUY  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      not sure, but it’d worth trying to see.

    man the refresh rate on this is horrible. 9 hertz notice how jumpy the image is when your scanning your hand. the higher the better. 20 -25 hertz (HZ) would be much better for smooth transitions while scanning. were you giving this for free for a review?

    You can get a much better one from Infiray for that price! More resolution, more framerate, less noise
