0:55 The chord progression in the choir here I can barely find in any other remix and yet they're the actual chords used in the original song. So glad this remix actually used this progression it makes this section sound so much more epic.
right?? while working on my orchestral arrangement i realized that all the covers ive been hearing have been changing that progression to the one you hear in the world revolving itself. i guess because its a bit unconventional for a song like this since its kind of stationary and doesnt really lead to the tonic but it sounds so cool to have those long chords in the choir!!
@@realykid There actually is a chord added at that point in the original song, but it is hard to hear. Listen very carefully to the right side if you're using headphones, the added notes are actually quite a bit lower in pitch--only making them harder to hear. They're not the same instrument either, kind of a strange, almost-buzzy sound instead. I only figured it out after listening to the version you can buy/download since TH-cam uploads generally kill the sound bits.
i didn't think you'd do it but you did!! love that you extended the ghost fight bit at the end (...also for a second I thought the spamton neo strings were part of the note visualizer)
* IN HONOR OF MY BRAND NEW COMEBACK SPECIL... * I'LL BE CRUSHING YOU INTO [[8 BITS, 4 BITS, 2 BITS!!!]] PHENOMENAL work with this cover! The part at 0:55 with THE WORLD REVOLVING is my favorite part of BIG SHOT, and you did amazing with it! I'm glad that the EarthBound "WOW!" samples are in this remix, along with the hidden vocals at 1:08 (Even if they're a bit quiet) I also like the Dummy! melody at 4:35 being finished, you did great with this entire cover!
I seriously need to get faster with my arrangements... Great job! You're the only one I know that takes the full potential of VRC6 and it sounds really amazing.
As soon as I heard the 8-bitified phone dingle I knew this was gonna be good. Not only was I not disappointed, this blew me the [Fifty Percent Off] away. 0:54 in particular is amazing and actually sounds even better than Toby's original. I am amazed. Thank you so much for the work you put into this!! 💜
Branflakes, I've been thinking about why I like your tracker remixes lately. I think it's because your transcriptions do not lose any instruments in the process. When other artists-from chiptune artists to pianists to violinists on TH-cam-transcribe, they all drop out some instruments/lines of notes in their transcription and that's fine on their own but it doesn't provide as much depth as when all instruments are present. Thank you for taking the time to painstakingly transcribe most, if not all, instruments out of each and every song. Your hard work shows. I'll always look forward to your new works.
i love the phone sound mimic that plays consistently throughout the whole song! it was a really cool detail that i almost missed the first time but noticed on the second time listening. realizing it went on the whole song and not just specific parts was really funky
Wow. At the very start it sounds like a chiptuned version of the Orchestral Hit sample! And the sound effect at 0:20? I love the timbre of the lead at 1:08, and it even changes up like it were of an electric guitar! I also loved the triangle wave kicking in at 2:19! What an awesome cover in just chiptune! Bravo!
Anyone who adds an extra jingle at the end instead of ending it abruptly like the original immediately gets a one up for me, great cover as always Bran!
I think I speak for musicians in the comments when I say this sounds as complicated to replicate as it is to listen to it. Remixes are very delicate when it comes to arrangements because it's hard to transcribe someone else's intentions into your own instruments and get the same point across slightly differently, but this sounds perfectly transcribed and even with some personality. (I noticed the interesting dynamic volume for the lead melody.) Even the increased octave too. It really adds to the heroism and I think even the original would benefit from the slight variation of repetition to emphasise it's sense of urgency more. Great remix, mister. It takes a good musician to fix up something like this and it's very inspiring.
OK BUT THE WORLD REVOLVING MELODY JUMPING UP AN OCTAVE FOR THE SECOND REPETITION AT 1:08 GOES SO HARD AND I WILL NOW BE FOREVER DISAPPOINTED THAT THE ORIGINAL DOESN’T DO THAT
First rendition of Big Shot where ghost fight is finished. I don't know how many times I would finish the tune in my head just for it to be cut short. Awesome work as always!
HOLY [[Cungadero]] THIS IS ONE [Heaven]LY ARRANGEMENT! I am in love with how you mixed this, harmonies you couldn't hear easily before shine so much brighter in this cover, _especially_ in the freedom lietmotif section. I was amazed when I first heard that part isolated from the original BIG SHOT and you brought it out wonderfully! Also finishing off the Dummy! part was cute.
YOOOOO, Famitracker seems to be a nice thing, and YOU do just prove that. That thing here sounds Amazing =D. You truly are a [[BIG SHOT]] now. The Fact that it could play exactly like this on a real NES even makes it feel more nostalgic, i like that NSF file system, even my old MP3 Player plays it which saves me a lot of storage.
Love the little tiny details and pitchbends you throw in. The little things really make a huge difference in this case. Orchestral hits also sound amazing, those are difficult to pull off with arps. Kudos.
As a musician myself and someone who considers themselves to be decent ish at harmonisation, I'm actually really impressed at how you've been able to recreate those harmonies. If I was to do something like this, it would actually take me a decent bit of studying this song because there's a lot of little really subtle things. Also what the hell, this song is just a jam
I was just listening to your remixes this morning and wondering when you'd post again!! This is a really nice surprise, great stuff :] Pleased the vocals are still there!

the added harmonies actually make this sound a lot more rich and flavorful than the original BIG SHOT
I agree!!
I'm not much of a music person, but... what harmonies were added?

0:55 YESS. Why does almost no one uses this chord progression even though they're the actual chords! Loving this cover man :D
I know right? Everyone except for a handful fucks it up. It's how I separate the good remixes from the bad

Fun fact: the beginning's melody is actually not an orchestra hit, but instead a Vins I Detache with bitcrusher from Squidfont orchestra sf2.
