Congrats on the well deserved win! You basically not only won but basically spiked the ball with the fox and tanning the hide. 😁

So interesting about risk management. It's obviously vitally important and yet totally unexpected things can happen. Those storms sounded hellacious. You and Michelle were so tough to endure. Can't wait for the next recap.

You've outfoxed the fox! Glad you won this round Woniya, felt you deserved to win at Great Slave lake. Congratulations!

Watching this episode and the blowing snow in the storm I couldn't help but think... There's literally no way to tap out now. The storm would keep helicopters grounded, and you're far enough into freeze up that a boat can't come but not far enough for a snow machine. Congrats for making it through.

Very true! There is no such thing as tap
out or rescue during those storms, so you'd better be prepared to see yourself through them no matter what, and honestly, that is a good mindset on Alone in general. Just think like there is no tap out button and it's just you out there!

I have been there with food stuck in my teeth and floss breaking off and adding to the blockage. Was just about ready to accept my new life at that point.

Nice summary. I am curious about the metal scraper you used. I assume you found it out there. Would you have attempted to tan the fox hide without it? I was also a little surprised that you used the brain for tanning since brains have so many calories.
Thanks again for taking the time to record this.
    Cheers from Alaska

That cut pinkie could have been really bad, a disaster. Glad you could handle it with the stuff you had, and I agree, things that can be used for more than one purpose is very valuable. Your idea of stripping a bandaid to two thin is one I will add to my memorycard... (I mean my brain), clever and simple.

How did your interest in survival things, adventures, start? Was there any particular book, friend, tv show or? I am not really in to the survival thinking, more doing backpacking but now more just going out for a long basecamp trips to try doing wildlife and bird photography and videos but the survival skills are not a bad thing to have when being out in wilderness if something bad happens. Have you been taking part of any medical training ?

      I respectfully disagree.
Woniya knows what she is talking about and specifically doesn't only tell us what she is doing, but also why she is doing it that way.
Also she is confident enough to own her mistakes and what lead to her making them. To me, that is highly entertaining!
