On a slightly less banterous note, these simple techniques are brilliant for making a table look more immersive. I mostly game at 6mm and you can still use the corn fields you just have to trim them with scissors which is a bit of a pain. One thing you might recommend is that people join a local scrap store or recycling project. There are plenty across the UK and you can usually get foam card, plasticard, foam for making your own clump foliage, and all manner of building materials.
Great idea of soaking the clump! When I made hedges before the clump would fall off way to easily lol
Another fun tutorial! I particularly like the "clump foliage casserole" technique, and the emphasis on irregular shapes.
Cheers!
Thanks so much for this! I just bought supplies to make some fields thanks to this video!
You're welcome and good luck!
Absolutely brilliant timing! i had just started a project to update my wargaming field terrain.
Glad to hear it!
Those are really nice, Alex 👍. I will definitely be giving that clump foliage idea a go - nice and messy 😀.
Cheers Andy, just make sure you wear gloves!
Thanks!
Thank you!
The good old doormat fields. Are you really a wargamer without having them?
I don't think so. :-)
Great work👏🏻👏🏻
Thanks!
Nice tutorial. Fields can be used for any period and system (.. except maybe 40K). Could definitely improve my standard fields. 🤫
Thanks, people have to eat in the 40K universe...
@@StormofSteelWargaming That's an argument. 😄
Solent Green is people!

Lovely fields, thanks for sharing!
Cheers Phil!
Nice work, Alex. Do you use these in your Far East games?
Cheers, no, but you could make something similar with the local crops.
👍👍👍👍
Cheers!
Anyone know of a good source for the corrugated foam sheets in the US? Thanks for the tutorial SoSW.
Glad you enjoyed the video!
