Sudhir if that's the case then why no one questioned when Action King Arjun casted in LEO you didn't question Lokesh. Why selective questioning?
Pleasantly surprised and very very impressed with Sudhir for asking about Vairamuthu and clearly expressing his opinion without sounding judgemental.
Nithilan on the other hand is playing the whole separate the art from artist card and "i dont know what happened, i like his songs" feels like a super lazy excuse when your entire movie is literally about abuse.
No fault in asking about Vairamuthu. But i don’t know why this interviewer keeps repeating that question. It looked like he was trying to guilt trip the director and get an apology for using that lyricist. That would mean a lot of publicity and traffic to this channel. I wish personalities avoid such channels and crooked interviewers.

Good you asked about Vairamuthu , atleast the director would have thought about it now, this guy seems simple minded and might have not thought about the sensitivity. VJS should have stopped him from hiring Vairamuthu.

The question about vairamuthu is totally unnecessary and out of place. First of all, there is only allegations against him. No proof or verdict or anything like that. If one cannot professionally work with someone who was accused of something bad, then how many people are left to work with? Then you seem to imply movie theme and vairamuthu issue as if they are same. Movie theme is brutal assault and rape. That is not vairamuthu is blamed about. At best it was more like suggesting and coercing someone to have sex. Again only allegations so far. This question is absolute non-sense. Let me ask you something in the same vein - if a movie theme is about a person who is arrogant, over-proud, putting down others, thinks he is superior to others, then the director should not approach ilayaraja for music, right? according to your logic? because the theme and real person have the same issue ? Does your logic apply only to sex related allegations or to other areas? What about drinking? Can a director use a lyricist who drinks if the movie theme is evils of drinking? Should a director research into personal life of every technician he works with before approaching him?

And further more, not paying attention to what Nithilan s talking .. Dude , you need to step up your communication skills .. Was eagerly waiting for this director’s interview.. You spoilt it terribly..
Lol, the director thinks that each and every question is to accuse him someway. Questions are really neutral and try to get more reasons and explanations from the movies story. Nithilan should believe that some people do not have bad intentions. He is not settled at all in this interview. However, talking seems like his not strong Suite.

Did you see how VJS closed the mic when Nithilan tried to say something. He seemed to not have any filter while he was talking.

I don't get the point...Nothing against Vairamuthu has been proven...Chinmayee also hasn't gathered enough support/evidence from other victims or anything...Just like any other incident, what if Chinmayee was doing all of this for a publicity stunt/ personal benefits at the cost of her image?
Sudhir being biased and taking advantage of Nithilan's innocence seems disrespectful and cheap journalism. I hope people become better and avoid such idiocy in future.

If you paid attention to the conversation without feeling compelled to get outraged, you’ll see that nobody asked for a ban on anyone. That’s why even asked to tell him what he should do, I tell him it’s not my job to dictate his choices-and that I’m merely having a conversation and figuring out the complexity of it all.
@@sudhirsrinivasan4480 the intention of bringing this question itself is a sign of questioning the directors moral stand on the me too issue...which is highly irrelevant to the movie discussion...this question is definitely out of place...i am clearly outraged at the media doing trials in such cases...vairumuthu could be a criminal but interview is not a place to comment on it... judiciary exists for a reason...

@@Jagdtiger46I don’t think our society has arrived at a place where one can cleanly disassociate from allegations from over a dozen people. So, given that the subject of the film is what it is, I did feel that the topic was warranted, even if only on a level that allows for a brief exchange of thoughts that doesn’t necessarily derail the conversation. I’ll trust that those who consume this will do so with nuanced understanding and empathy.
@@sudhirsrinivasan4480 no man...i have to disagree...Nithilan was constantly in the fear of backlash from the public after he answered many questions...one such example is him using the word "cheating" and was worried about being misunderstood....that question clearly pulled him to a different topic...this is similar to a journalist asking a persons stand of Israel palestine war and watch the person suffer with whatever answer he gives...i know it is your right to ask any questions...but its clearly loaded...anyways i like the way you conduct interviews...keep up your good work...all the best man!
