Tekken Revolution didn't tank lol reviews were mixed but mostly positive. It was downloaded over 2 million times and was live from 2013 to 2017. Nowadays that wouldn't be impressive, but this was 2013. And a fighting game. Which if I'm not mistaken, was one of the first live-service fighting games ever. It also had a rabid and extremely loyal fanbase. I wasn't the only fan who was surprised and highly disappointed when it was shut down. Thousands of people were upset.
I've played Tekken for 10 years and from day 1 i chose King and Dragunov because King is a guy wearing a cool Jaguar mask and Dragunov rarely speaks to people (just like me), I used to just mash buttons but now i've learned, i'm a different player from what i used to be...King,Dragunov,Miguel,Marduk and Anna are my top characters. Put simply: You don't just play Tekken, you live it.
First off! I love the video! Im a long time tekken player, and i hope you stick with the series going forward! One thing i think will help though is learning how to use the practice mode to learn how to fight against certain characters. Eddy for example is a character that is indeed frustrating to play against until you learn the stuff hes got thats punishable and how to beat the spammy strings. His 3,3,3 string for example is mid,high,high. If you block the first kick, you can go into crouch and punish him for the whiffs. I think once you learn how to use that mode, youll find yourself to be a lot happier with the games. You've earned a subscription here! Keep up the good work!

Also, if you ever want to give another street fighter game a try, I’d recommend street fighter 6 much more than sfxt, it has a lot easier of a barrier to entry and honestly is just better. Even among people in the competitive scene sfxt is pretty poorly viewed, same as mvc infinite. You’ve really picked 2 of the worst 2d games to start with lol. I understand sf isn’t your thing, but I really think you’ve given yourself the worst chances of liking it with the games you’ve played lmao
Tekken 7 is one of the easiest Platinums ever in my opinion, I play fighting games competitively and realized you can be absolutely terrible at the game and still get it lol.
Yeah, I mean, I completely understand with the fact that you prefer tekken over street fighter. I'm the same way, I also believe that tekken is much simpler to learn than street fighter is. Which is interesting because tekken is technically way more complex than street fighter because it's much slower and grounded. Coupled with the fact that one singular character can have an enormous list of moves. And yet, I still like it better. I just feel like it's much easier than street fighter ever was.
You’ve just perfectly described how I feel about Tekken as well. Tekken has a more complex move list but they are all easier to execute than Sf in my humble opinion. Plus it feels so much better to play
I'm not a trophy hunter by any means but I am currently a competitive fighting game player, my current main game being Tekken and I've also competed in Street Fighter 4, King of Fighters '98 and King of Fighters 15. What I will say is that Street Fighter 4 (Ultra Street Fighter 4, to be precise) is a very infamous game to get every achievement/trophy in, and is rare in fighting games - for the fact that it doesn't just require a typical grind, it also requires you to be really damn good. If you ever wanted a massive fighting game Platinum challenge, I'd say forget Mortal Kombat 9 as the pain from that game simply comes from a ridiculous grind - Ultra Street Fighter 4 is a NIGHTMARE in terms of both grind and difficulty. Tekken 7 probably has the easiest fighting game Platinum that I've gotten so far - it basically requires almost no effort on the player's part. Winning a Ranked match is pretty much possible just by mashing since your first Ranked match will always be against someone with zero clue, a Player match and tournament match can be the same deal, and then you've just got to clean up the training mode trophy, treasure battle trophies and the character episode trophies. All of which come very easily by someone just playing the game, outside of the "learn three 10-strings" trophy which is almost just a novelty and something kept for nostalgia at this point - 10-string combos have very little use when actually playing against anyone real. I'd honestly give the Tekken 7 platinum a 2/10 on difficulty. It's insanely easy. I actually created a new profile after getting it on my real account just to see how fast I could get it from start to finish and I managed it in a single afternoon. Did you know the AI is recycled from Tekken 6 and Tag 2, meaning the AI is from a game where there was no character with a fireball? So to get all the Treasure Battle stuff, just pick Akuma, hold the assist button and mash square. I got many achievements while literally holding the controller with one hand, working on my laptop, eating or cooking lmao.
oh that's awesome man! I would love to beat utterly destroyed by you on tekken 8 some time hahaha. I don't think I have the skill or patience for sf games they just seem to have such hard controls to understand ha.
@@PlatinumBro Yeah I think you're the perfect audience for what happened with Street FIghter 6. They managed to introduced the Modern controls in a way that didn't just feel like a handicap like it did in older games like the "simple" style from Marvel vs Capcom 3. I would recommend trying Street Fighter 6 because even though I'm an old school head who likes the brutality of fighting games, SF6 kinda is the first game I've ever seen to bridge the gap between casual enjoyer and player who understands the game. It is VERY good at taking you from "kinda knows how to play a fighting game" to "can actually play and enjoy at a low-level competitive stage".

BTW, there was a cancelled game "Tekken X Street Fighter" which was basically the reverse of SFxT, pretty much its tekken 3D gameplay with SF chars. You may have enjoyed that one if it came out haha

As a Fighting Game Player, I always tell people to not swap to Arcade stick unless you grew up playing in arcade, or have hit a barrier with a traditional controller. On top of that learning to use it is like trying to learn how to ride a bike while sitting on it backwards. There's gonna be a lot of flailing before you gain some control. Also hold the joystick like a wineglass, you will tire out your hand quickly with the grip you had.

Good job! I've got 100% on Tekken Revolution and platinums in Tag 2 and 7. What I find funny is that you had the complete opposite experience to mine when it comes to Tag 2 and 6. I just couldn't make it through 6's campaign mode, and feared the Nancy trophy too much to even attempt it (I did get the 10 rounds of Survival easily though). This video made me want to try and come back and attempt it! I've tried to get a copy of Tekken Hybrid for a while, but it's not easy to come by where I live. And I wish all the PS Classic Tekken games on PS+ had trophies... As for other fighting games... I'd recommend you Mortal Kombat. Other than MK9 (which is absolutely insane and also unobtainable due to servers going down) those are very easy platinums, same with Injustice 2 (1 was too hard for me), although there is some grind. I also think MKX may have one trophy which is unobtainable now... though it seems like they fixed it recently, but it's limited time Invasion mode so better hurry up! But I'd recommend going for trophies on MK11 or something, very easy. I also want to attempt doing the Samurai Shodown series in the future - looks like a cool series and not too hard. The King of Fighters also looks like a cool series with quite a lot of trophy lists (especially when counting the seemingly endless Arcade Classics emulators) but not too many platinums and I don't know what the online situation is like.
well done on revolution! If you can get survival, honestly nancy isn't an issue, just takes a little bit of patience. A good trick is to use roger jr's unblockable move I am heavily considering Samurai Shodown :D

Street fighter 6 fixed all the problems you had with it and the extreme barrier to entry by adding the modern control scheme which uses 4 button layout like other fighting games. The SF community gatekeeps the control scheme but i ignore them and enjoy the new layout.
I also went on my road to beat all the games for the story, glad you did it too! Also glad to see you be a Miguel main. Personally I'm a Lars main since T6
I thought you had retired from making videos 😂 That one was definitely worth the wait. A great sense of achievement learning the game and getting to the level you are out now. I played a few of the Streetfighter games just for fun back on the PS3 but I have never tried Tekken. How hard would you say Tekken 8 is to platinum for a new player? I see some of the guides claim it’s a 3/10 but I find that hard to believe. It got really good reviews so it’s certainly a game that intrigues me. I enjoyed the Virtua Fighter games back in the day on the Sega Saturn.
hahahah no just working on this big mother for 6 weeks haha. Yeah I am so proud of this journey. I have moved up 2 more ranks on the online since this video and now instead of being in the top 66% of players im in the top 62% of players. A small improvement but an improvement nonetheless ha. I actually think tekken 8 is very easy, I think it's the easiest one. Using Jin in the story is definitely challenging, he is a very hard character to use but if you just pick an easy main to use like victor or king youll be able to smash through most of the offline very easily :)

I just got one with the tekken branding on it. I've been having the same problem you mentioned with the ps5 controller.. The dpad design just isn't good for fighting games. My thumb would be burning by the time I'm done playing
You missed TEKKEN revolution so you lose! it got delisted years ago and the online got shut down so you can’t even play it anymore. I’m just kidding, great video dude, you’ll be happy to know that the TEKKEN 8 trophies are considerably easier. I almost got the platinum for tag tournament 2 back in the day I played it that much. Definitely my favourite in the series so far. My respect for doing this in 2024. :)

Tekken 7 was easy to get all the trophies to get tbh. Also, if you haven’t already, and want quite an easy platinum achievement, you should do demon slayer: hinokami chronicles.
Eddy isn't broken, he's known to give newer players a bad time. It seems like he's fundamentally different from everyone else, but your eyes play tricks on you. He's also notoriously the easiest character in the series, so in the beginner/average ranks, he's definitely a menace.
My favourite fighting game series havent actually played a fighting game since Tekken 7 I'll have to pick up 8 at some point sad to hear about the lack of customisation loved all the stuff you could do in 7.
8 is honestly so good! buttttt, the DLC characters are clearing going to be broken at launch so people are more inclined to buy them and then nerfed. It's a bit of a joke really
Wow, congrats on earning all platinum trophies for this franchise It seems like a long and difficult task but the most important part is that you had fun during this journey (except the Street Fighter crossover 😄). I'll probably never touch the franchise because I don't like these fighting games and would most likely be terrible in them but I still really enjoyed watching the video. Had to watch it in smaller parts since it was already very late when I started watching.

I just found out that it IS possible to Platinum Elite Dangerous last night. Elite is my most favorite game ever so I'm desperately gonna be looking for people to help me do the CQC mode trophies. There's no one in match making, but maybe I can find a group who will help me
@PlatinumBro I use to play the game religiously, i was like top ranked online and even I thought the trophy list was absurd... you defo made the right choice.
Ever since Need For Speed 2015 was stolen from me and I was locked out of getting the last few trophies I need, I mostly stay away from online games specifically cause they have trophies tied to online and can be impossible to get at any time. In EA's case though, I only needed super easy story mode trophies, but they shut the entire game down
Ahhh man that sucks. I always check the online can still be earned by looking at if the online trophies had been earned by anyone recently on psnp. It’s always a good idea to do so. Don’t be put off by online games they are so fun to platinum
I know they don't have trophies. But what about doing the older Tekken games? I'm sure one of them is on ps5. I think it's 2? Anyway 2 and 3 are great.
If you want a fighter thats not too difficult id recommended jojo's bizarre adventure all-star battle r, its got a good mix of story online and offline arcade mode trophies

Funny thing is, I have played around 150 ranked matches now and only fought Victor about 5 times and I think his moves are so predictable haha. He has some spam moves but they are so easy to spot I don’t use them in ranked anymore
Its weird tekken is known for such easy platinums as its a fighter. Usually fighters need a difficulty ratings for each experienced fighters and noobs. Not tekken.

Yeah, I mean, I completely understand with the fact that you prefer tekken over street fighter. I'm the same way, I also believe that tekken is much simpler to learn than street fighter is. Which is interesting because tekken is technically way more complex than street fighter because it's much slower and grounded. Coupled with the fact that one singular character can have an enormous list of moves. And yet, I still like it better. I just feel like it's much easier than street fighter ever was.
You’ve just perfectly described how I feel about Tekken as well. Tekken has a more complex move list but they are all easier to execute than Sf in my humble opinion. Plus it feels so much better to play

I'm not a trophy hunter by any means but I am currently a competitive fighting game player, my current main game being Tekken and I've also competed in Street Fighter 4, King of Fighters '98 and King of Fighters 15. What I will say is that Street Fighter 4 (Ultra Street Fighter 4, to be precise) is a very infamous game to get every achievement/trophy in, and is rare in fighting games - for the fact that it doesn't just require a typical grind, it also requires you to be really damn good. If you ever wanted a massive fighting game Platinum challenge, I'd say forget Mortal Kombat 9 as the pain from that game simply comes from a ridiculous grind - Ultra Street Fighter 4 is a NIGHTMARE in terms of both grind and difficulty.
Tekken 7 probably has the easiest fighting game Platinum that I've gotten so far - it basically requires almost no effort on the player's part. Winning a Ranked match is pretty much possible just by mashing since your first Ranked match will always be against someone with zero clue, a Player match and tournament match can be the same deal, and then you've just got to clean up the training mode trophy, treasure battle trophies and the character episode trophies. All of which come very easily by someone just playing the game, outside of the "learn three 10-strings" trophy which is almost just a novelty and something kept for nostalgia at this point - 10-string combos have very little use when actually playing against anyone real. I'd honestly give the Tekken 7 platinum a 2/10 on difficulty. It's insanely easy. I actually created a new profile after getting it on my real account just to see how fast I could get it from start to finish and I managed it in a single afternoon. Did you know the AI is recycled from Tekken 6 and Tag 2, meaning the AI is from a game where there was no character with a fireball? So to get all the Treasure Battle stuff, just pick Akuma, hold the assist button and mash square. I got many achievements while literally holding the controller with one hand, working on my laptop, eating or cooking lmao.

@@PlatinumBro Yeah I think you're the perfect audience for what happened with Street FIghter 6. They managed to introduced the Modern controls in a way that didn't just feel like a handicap like it did in older games like the "simple" style from Marvel vs Capcom 3. I would recommend trying Street Fighter 6 because even though I'm an old school head who likes the brutality of fighting games, SF6 kinda is the first game I've ever seen to bridge the gap between casual enjoyer and player who understands the game. It is VERY good at taking you from "kinda knows how to play a fighting game" to "can actually play and enjoy at a low-level competitive stage".

As a Fighting Game Player, I always tell people to not swap to Arcade stick unless you grew up playing in arcade, or have hit a barrier with a traditional controller. On top of that learning to use it is like trying to learn how to ride a bike while sitting on it backwards. There's gonna be a lot of flailing before you gain some control. Also hold the joystick like a wineglass, you will tire out your hand quickly with the grip you had.

Good job! I've got 100% on Tekken Revolution and platinums in Tag 2 and 7. What I find funny is that you had the complete opposite experience to mine when it comes to Tag 2 and 6. I just couldn't make it through 6's campaign mode, and feared the Nancy trophy too much to even attempt it (I did get the 10 rounds of Survival easily though). This video made me want to try and come back and attempt it!
I've tried to get a copy of Tekken Hybrid for a while, but it's not easy to come by where I live. And I wish all the PS Classic Tekken games on PS+ had trophies...
As for other fighting games... I'd recommend you Mortal Kombat. Other than MK9 (which is absolutely insane and also unobtainable due to servers going down) those are very easy platinums, same with Injustice 2 (1 was too hard for me), although there is some grind. I also think MKX may have one trophy which is unobtainable now... though it seems like they fixed it recently, but it's limited time Invasion mode so better hurry up! But I'd recommend going for trophies on MK11 or something, very easy.
I also want to attempt doing the Samurai Shodown series in the future - looks like a cool series and not too hard. The King of Fighters also looks like a cool series with quite a lot of trophy lists (especially when counting the seemingly endless Arcade Classics emulators) but not too many platinums and I don't know what the online situation is like.

Street fighter 6 fixed all the problems you had with it and the extreme barrier to entry by adding the modern control scheme which uses 4 button layout like other fighting games.
The SF community gatekeeps the control scheme but i ignore them and enjoy the new layout.

I played a few of the Streetfighter games just for fun back on the PS3 but I have never tried Tekken. How hard would you say Tekken 8 is to platinum for a new player? I see some of the guides claim it’s a 3/10 but I find that hard to believe. It got really good reviews so it’s certainly a game that intrigues me. I enjoyed the Virtua Fighter games back in the day on the Sega Saturn.

I actually think tekken 8 is very easy, I think it's the easiest one. Using Jin in the story is definitely challenging, he is a very hard character to use but if you just pick an easy main to use like victor or king youll be able to smash through most of the offline very easily :)

I’m just kidding, great video dude, you’ll be happy to know that the TEKKEN 8 trophies are considerably easier. I almost got the platinum for tag tournament 2 back in the day I played it that much. Definitely my favourite in the series so far. My respect for doing this in 2024. :)

Eddy isn't broken, he's known to give newer players a bad time. It seems like he's fundamentally different from everyone else, but your eyes play tricks on you. He's also notoriously the easiest character in the series, so in the beginner/average ranks, he's definitely a menace.

I'll probably never touch the franchise because I don't like these fighting games and would most likely be terrible in them but I still really enjoyed watching the video. Had to watch it in smaller parts since it was already very late when I started watching.

Ever since Need For Speed 2015 was stolen from me and I was locked out of getting the last few trophies I need, I mostly stay away from online games specifically cause they have trophies tied to online and can be impossible to get at any time. In EA's case though, I only needed super easy story mode trophies, but they shut the entire game down
Ahhh man that sucks. I always check the online can still be earned by looking at if the online trophies had been earned by anyone recently on psnp. It’s always a good idea to do so. Don’t be put off by online games they are so fun to platinum

Its weird tekken is known for such easy platinums as its a fighter. Usually fighters need a difficulty ratings for each experienced fighters and noobs. Not tekken.
Yeah, I still think 2 difficulty ratings would have helped because parts of a few of the games are mad hard
