    As American Argentinian, USMNT slept on not going for Jesse! Really happy to see how Canada is taking chances and risks to grow a great program!!! Awesome tournament for Canada. I might have a different view because I watch South American qualifiers and I’m up to date with what’s going on and same up here in North America with the mls. It is an honor to be the 3rd best team in an entire continent. Both teams (and fans) are going to look forward to that match. Saying fans are not interested was a very poor choice of words. This is what happens when Canada puts on their greatest performance at a big tournament. The criticism, the player bashing, the lack of scoring, Laryin sucks, Millar shouldn’t play…the list goes on.
      First off, success brings negativity from some and higher expectations for others. David scored one of Canada’s 2 goals in the tournament. He also scored in the shootout. His work rate was outstanding, he ran more than he usually does and I think he was strong defensively and made some great reads. Could he have been better? Yes. Was he disappointing? No. Argentina is the best team in the world, possibly the best team ever with arguably the best player to ever play the game. Messi didn’t score until today…and he missed his shootout attempt…and he didn’t play his best games. He’s also on a great team who have played together for years. Are you cranking on him too?
      Canada was beaten by a better team. Canada looked tired today. They have played so well and yes we can all want them to play better, but perspective needs to be in play. I’m disappointed that fans are “disappointed” with a players performance after this remarkable run. There is no disappointment from this guy.

    Rotation is always one of the most important Factors in Big Soccer Tournament Success.
    Even if you have the top 11 players in the world, you will not succeed with them in a 5, 6 or 7 match tournament, people have limits. Had Canada had a larger pool, definitely it can go far and win big tournaments. You have to rest your top 4 to 7 key players after in the 3rd game of group stages and after that too.
    Grow more after this success and aim higher.
    Don't feat the hard work you have to do, it's never easy.
    Even if you aim lower, you still have to be accountable and show up for work etc..
    May as well go for the Gold, it will come easier to Canada than others.

They won’t win it, but still huge for a CONCACAF nation to reach the semi’s considering the huge jump in quality. The lessons learnt moving forwards will be invaluable for the world cup. The overall Canada Soccer Style can work in the World Cup, but you need to develop more defensive and offensive quality. Example once you're inside the box you have to score 1 out of 3 opportunities, we didn't see that yesterday.
    Defensively you have to expect what Argentina did from any good team.
    If I have to focus on two positions, I will say had Canada been strong in the central defender and number 9 forward positions (Stronger) Canada would have prevented 1 goal and scored 1 goal, they have had the chance to extend the game.

    • @MS-ii1sv
      @MS-ii1sv 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      No. They deal with the lack of interest just like the US does. The only place anyone takes it seriously is in ethnic enclaves in big cities. Canada has considerably more Indian, Chinese and Filipino immigrants per capita than the US so the immigration thing is not really the factor that people let on. In the sense that if you want good coaching and good competition it is scarce and you need to join an exclusive club then yes there is probably a "pay for play" system. Every sport has that though so it's not really worth talking about.

Perhaps more importantly, we need quit with the mindset of seeking and developing thoroughbred athletes and start seeking the naturally gifted footballers. Canada would have to play it's best match ever and Argentina would have to suffer a full blown disaster. Clearly, that didn't happen.
