- For this video I figured I'd talk to you guys about what to expect for Castoria. I talk about some of the combinations that work with her for farming, who some of the other supports that work well with her are. Who is hurt by her release, and also what NP levels you need for your DPS. It's not meant to be exhaustive but it is supposed to be a primer to help you think about how to approach nodes in the future with her in the mix.

ngl Buster comp is probably a lot whalier than Arts comp. It's more consistent for sure but it also needs a lot to work, while arts you really only need castoria and maybe a 50% charger

Honestly this is a really nice thing to have ahead of her coming out. Obviously she’s really good. But seeing how and why helps.
Plus it gives me more of a plan than “just throw her out there with NP5 Summer Melt and win.”
Yep in a lot of cases just np1 will suffice if they're sufficiently invested in and your CE is good. If it doesn't there's probably either a better unit or the node is just flat out annoying.
@@Khadroth Yeah, there are definitely good options when accounting for CEs. Though this did make me feel bad for Jeanne. There really isn’t much reason to use her instead of Castoria besides a bit more tankiness. I definitely wish she’d gotten more love since she somehow spooked me 4 times!
I mostly use Arts Servants (Scheherazade, Murasaki, Hundred Face, CasGil, etc) so having Castoria in game (even if I don't summon her) is a blessing.
You could also use Tamamo no Mae, she increases Arts effectiveness and can increase Np strength, not to mention she can tank a lot of hits. So if you can get a Tamamo and not Castoria then for sure power her up, I have been able to do a lot with her survivability and support capabilities.

I rolled for np2 at release and its payed off.
The ability to OC2 for an aditional stack of solemn defense manually has saved me too many times
Morgan Castoria Merlin was my go to setup in the recent BINY
2x Castoria spishtar oberon has been able to 3t every 90+ nodd thus far.
is it worth trying going beyond np2 i got a second copy and wondering if i should go for a third.
@@pforgottonsoul slight damage increase. np2 is the important benchmark for manual oc 2. If you don't have a servant you want to save for in the immediate future, i would suggest rolling for Summer Kiara since she is a top 5 (arguably top 3) arts AOE looper.
But how many more SQ did that cost, considering that 1 pull = the SQ for 3 continues.

A bit late to watching this but thanks for the video, it was very helpful as someone who's been saving for castoria for a while since she's an artoria, but I've also only ever known the broad strokes of her kit. Your bit about the NPs was also super helpful, i'm definitely going to try go for NP2, however i'll need to make sure I can have a good chance of getitng Morgan as well. Thanks again :)

Never thought i'd be back to this video after the Anni banner on NA yesterday. Well, i'll be doing my best to fully utilize my NP1 Castoria (perhaps NP2 in future) to loop, as i'm new to arts looping rn.
Now that servant coins are coming early i would really say that rolling NP2 with saved up quarz is pretty damn nice value.
What should not be underestimated is how well she works with Tamamo, those 2 units cover each other weaknesses quite well + and tamamos huge NP damage buff stacks with Castorias buffs very well.

I’m still torn between goin for 2 after 1, but I’ve been saving since Sitonai wiped me in early October, including Tickets. As long as I get NP1, I’ll be happy. Especially since her Bond CE effectively gives NP2 if you get her NP off during a farm
In situations like these I wouldn't advise going for NP 2 just to make her NP stronger. Instead having the 2nd copy to me provides the most benefit on a support by increasing their gauge beyond 100% . This allows you go beyond the normal threshold to NP in the case of enemies having drain mechanics or it not being the right time to NP yet (this happens to me all the time with the invincible comp).
@@Khadroth That's another consideration I have, though I largely consider NP drain to be a niche, hidden consideration to an extent since it's something you can generally prepare for, at least on the NA side.
Ultimately, whether I go for a second copy depends entirely on how kind the first one treats me and my mood at the time.

Castoria has another rate up right before Avalon La Fae so you do have a shot at NP2, but if you want Morgan that's gonna be a problem.

I plan on getting Koyanskaya, Morgan, and then Castoria, just cause Castoria works very well even outside of arts looping teams
Best option to deal with Castoria is field degen (so unclearable), because she cannot heal and degen go though invulnerability. That would require using second support with heal or regen :D

hey as someone who plays on JP, I like that you talk about the immortal combo. but not over the version with himiko which gives a +2 overcharge with your NP.
since she has a banner after a good portion of some of the most popular units next year you can just get np 1 try to get them and go for np 2 if they went well
Castoria + Reiness. I use this 2 support for every Stall Battle.
I've been borrowing Castoria on my 2 month old JP account with barely any servants raised and honestly she just straight up breaks the game lol. All the fights I've struggled in literally trivialized as long as she stays alive
After getting Caster Altria in 3 tickets I legit went ahead and got np2 plus I got blessed on my lucky bag gssr and got Berserker Musashi I'm on freaking cloud 9 right now.
Ok I'm gonna save for magic seiba.
Gonna pick up and playtest NP1 until I obtain her bond CE/she returns next year and then NP2 as a way to cheat out that 50% atk buff
Great video, I was wondering about getting multiple copies of Castoria. Still on the fence since I’m F2P. Btw some of the timestamps in the description don’t work probably because of the extra colons.
Yep fixed, and multiple copies are nice but not necessary. The best way it helps is still allowing you to go over 100% in case of drains and such.
prob worth it especiially if np1 comes easily. Also the early servant coins really do like those extra coins so one could get mana loading as well as the extra card boost.

It ist just a "bonus" with NP2...but i cant decide. I would like NP2, but have other targets this year (Himeko and Murasama new-year) as really big targets and next sommer....my waifu Morgan! Have to see if i get her with tickets

I think my biggest struggle right now is deciding between Waver & Tamamo for my SSR ticket since they both complement Castoria in different ways; it feels like I'm basically choosing whether to go for farming effectiveness or CQ efficiency.

I think you should you prioritize what you want. Do you want short term investment (Tamamo's NP can charge your team's NP for 30+ on NP1) or do you want long term investment (Waver's skills can can charge up to 50% to an ally and his NP can debuff enemy + decrease their DEF) You just need to 10/10/10 all skills.

@@frds_skce for the record, waver isn't someone who needs to prioritize getting 10/10/10 on all skills to work, that's just what you should do if you want to set him on support for endless amounts of FP from support uses. He can get away just fine with level 1-5 or 6-9's cooldowns from just a gameplay perspective.
Take tamamo if you use arts teams

Literally want her in NA bc of how lucky I was with recent olympus 1 & 2 pulls, and wishing that luck will transfer on her banner as well. Hopefully I'll be at the latest lb by the time she's released. Thankfully she's with da vinci rider which is currently NP1 in my box, so it's a win-win when I pull for the banner either way
I dont have spishtar but i have an np5 salieri - slapping black grail on him with 2 castorias is great for farming!

I chose Tamamo for this year's SSR Ticket because I got spooked by Enkidu while rolling for Roma. ^^

While I lack Waver and Tamamo and it would be better for my gameplay experience to have one of them together with Caster Artoria... I’m probably still going to pick Jeanne with my SSR Ticket. I just want her, despite knowing she’s not as good anymore these days. I’ll probably try to use her with Caster Artoria in a meme stall team or something
At the end of the day, you should roll for who you want, not the meta. Waifus over everything.
Another Jeanne enjoyer, nice. I still use her more than my Castoria during story quests as well as CQs in JP lol.
She is still one of the best stall unit in the entire game and will always be relevant for harder CQs, even in JP. I honestly don't know where that "not as good anymore these days" come from.
@@lunoire67 Mainly because her kit is still suck and the recent skill update didn't help really well in both actually improving her kit and improving people's opinion on her kit (I still want them to buff that stun so it can be targeted to not just a servant while giving other effects). That and Castoria basically takes her role as stall servant and do it way better, well minus the healing and defense but you'll be taking basically no damage except DoT and some forms of external damage until the Solemn Defense is gone anyway. Not to mention there are other alternatives to the healing part while giving way better benefits, like Merlin and Tamamo (though it's a bit difficult to do NP chain with Tamamo as you need to make decision) so ..., yeah.
@@dindapriska that's exactly it, they both have a different purpose to serve so it's not like castoria took away her role in stall comps and make jeanne irrelevant. You always want to bring jeanne in a comp when you required healing and invul from NP and not from skill (because it's spammable). Although both jeanne and castoria are both used in a stall team, they have different purpose to serve. The one servant I could think that served the same role as jeanne would be merlin as they have a lot of similarities in their kits (star gens, invul, health regen), so they're both interchangable.
so if i get castoxia does that mean that my np 1 summer melt can loop in saber 90+ nodes?

Any good CE recommendations for her? I don't really understand Japanese and I do not have enough time to sort and translate every 5* or whichever CE I have.
(I mainly use Overcharge CE's and Magical Sapphire for NP gain, but that usually goes to Tamamo since she surprisingly generates little np with her facecards)
Aside from running whatever event or account helping CEs you want on her, Prisma Cosmos is a great option for CQs where you know you'll be spamming her np. From there The One who Desires Salvation is amazing for Solemn Defense stacking in medium duration fights. If you must secure her NP turn 1 then at least 50% starting charge will be necessary.

Most of the time we're not actually looping with black grail. A large part of that is because events force us to use their CEs for maximum efficiency. That being said I've been fine having non-mlb on JP for years (certainly would like one though 😅). The closest I've ever felt to black grail being essential was the Tunguska raids where the dmg CE was a gacha one. Even then one copy worked with the right unit combinations.

Likely depends on the class and amount of enemies being faced. The less enemies in a wave, the more likely you are to need supplemental charge.

If I knew that I would get Castoria within 4 mutis and 16 tiks I would've gotten tamamo as the free 5 star instead of jack

I have arjuna alter, NP2 eresh, artoria (the normal one) and ozymandias and no big AOE arts servant (aside from single target ones)
Should i just save up for koyanskaya instead of her?
Summer Musashi is at the end of May, so I would atleast throw a multi for her to try and get one of the better aoe arts servants. Could also try for Merlin who should also be available in May to start supporting your busters. Koyan is a little over a year away now so up to you really.

It's funny but that banner has my two most sought after summons: Castoria and Da Vinci Lily Rider (who I have now @ NP1). I will shoot for both @ NP2, settle for NP1 Castoria at the very least but really want to get Da Vinci to NP2. Ready for the Meta though w/100 Lvl NP3 Spishtar raring to go.

JeanneArch, Forgot her name but a foreigner, CasGil
NeroCas and Ereshkigal are great with Koyan, same with SummerJeanne and Hokusai for Castoria. My suggestion would be to go with the one that you prefer to use, remember that love>gameplay.
From a gameplay standpoint, choose the support for the card type that has the most developed Servant. If your Buster Servants are 10/10/10 then go for Koyan, if it's your Arts Servants then go for Castoria. Hope this helps!!

You're not going to like my answer. It's both. I'm an adamant believer in acquiring all the supports if possible. If I can only have 1 support in the entire game though its castoria. For overall kit she's just too good at both farming and challenge content. Remember too you have a bunch of low stars for every card type and they're actually useful. Don't get caught up only the SRs and SSRs.

My Castoria, and Summer Musashi.
For Friend servants, It's either Castoria or Skadi.
And watch my Summer Musashi release Her NP every waves of enemies.
i got artoria and nobody uses her for support. mine is at lvl 96, attack 12344, and set to start with 50% np charge. her stats are 9-8-6 np 1
i also unlocked command code art engraved to remove minor debuffs
Unless being 10-10-10, castoria cannot give your dps 50%NP as well as other buffs, which is the whole point of farming. That's why nobody uses your castoria

It can. I almost lost the chiron fight in Atlantis because I didn't know that chiron removes defense buffs while me, as always playing the morgan merlin castoria team never read the enemies gimmick or np choked on my rice because my castoria died after chiron's first np

I'm seriously thinking about skipping her and focus on the summer banners (I like my hot-2d-girl.png lol)
Main reason is: at the point where I'm stuck at the moment, it's already getting boring. I've got so many servants (60+ SSRs), all meta supports maxed out, got to master level 150, almost 180 interludes done (except for angra) and every rank up I have available, done. So, I've got strong units and literally NOWHERE TO USE THEM because endgame FGO have nothing for us to do, and Castoria would make the game even more boring, since it'll all become way easier. Gosh, for the past few days my AP has been stuck at max because I don't even bother to do anything other than log in, get daily reward, leave. Not even the weekly missions I've been doing, for the last 3 weeks, I guess...
We seriously need some end game content instead of broken ass units, because if you're f2p and reached that point, fine. You fought your way to reach where you're standing at. But if you're a dolphin/whale, it feels even worse, because most times you're able to just run over everything that got in front of you, almost no difficulty.

I hate castoria personally. She's so stupidly buster and overtuned that she trivialises almost every bit of content and makes dozens upon dozens of good servants look like bad jokes by comparison. I'll see see if I can get her to maximize the performance of some of my favourite units, but I do so reluctantly.
As far as Castoria making some servant irrlevant .
Most people should realize that if Castoria trivialize anyone it's Waver and Jeanne above all .Waver is now a plug support instead of a main support and Oberon trivialize that . Jeanne is just too slow and not as effective as Castoria for defense
Castoria best partner is probably Merlin, followed by Tamamo and Reines . Special mention to Gogh would work incredibly well with Castoria , kinda work like a Merlin but more aggressive.
castoria + Tamamo is my favorite line up cause makes going to boss fights and CQs blind easier for me
