Hi Cold Fire! I just want to start with a correction. It wasn’t Tori that was the emotional one, it was Tee another reactor, recording her reaction to Something In Your Eyes. She also got emotional on the remastered Superstar as it’s her #1 all time favorite Carpenters song. She could see and feel the difference. Carpenters and Tori really can get her. Yes AI is involved in the restoration of these videos. This is the perfect and correct use, don’t recreate, restore to its original greatness. I believe it was a fire at a Universal Studios warehouse that all those masters were lost. It was devastating. I believe it was a controlled environment warehouse but the fire overwhelmed it. Glad you enjoyed this remaster, it will scale, if you watch it on a TV it can go all the way to 4K. It’s not like it was shot in 4K but as much as can be pulled out of the existing images can be saved. If the original film (I believe this was shot on film) was available, then recapturing it in 4K would be even better. Since you mentioned Tori. The other day I stumbled on to a full length Carpenters cover she did in 2022. It’s not from the Ohio recording sessions where Merry Christmas, Darling came from. This is something else. It’s a song she’s made a short version of, twice and here we have a full length one. The vocal, well it’s Tori. And it’s a Carpenters song. You know going in what we have here. So have fun with it. It’s audio only. The song is; I Need To Be In Love. It’s not on her channel as you’ll see and they only used “Tori” so it wasn’t showing up in searches. Now it is for me as I’ve played it.
