TH-cam is such a great resource. I used it to learn how to change my car oil, fix simple toilet issues, adjust sprinklers, knit, crochet, roller skate, personal finance and so much more!

Just wanted to say Handwashing clothes in the shower mostly for underwear is pretty common in Iran. It's were I live and most ppl have washing machines in their homes but prefer to handwash most clothing items.

Before changing my mindset and lifestyle I was caught up with living up to societal expectations when it came to career and based all of my actions on those expectations. It wasn’t until I said SCREW this….did I find happiness. I make a lot less than I was earning as a journalist or police officer (of course with doing overtime,) BUT I am SO much happier and fulfilled with a SIMPLE/SOFTER life. The fact that I earn less is actually less stressful! It gave me less room for overspending on BS and focus on the essentials. That, paired with living a peaceful life free of deadlines in journalism and crime in the NYPD….😂I am FREE. ❤

Hi Kyra, thanks for another great video! Would you ever do a video on how to live with your husband/boyfriend who is not a minimalist? I am a minimalist and my husband is not. He is doing better and, luckily, lets me minimize and organize our main living areas. But there are some areas of the house (basement, his little office/man cave) that are a disaster with clutter and unnecessary things. It drives me crazy!!!

A “sneaky” way I save additional money is after I’ve done my budget and allocated my money in my different savings account, I give myself a daily allowance, If I don’t spend that allowance amount money that day I put it into a different savings lol 😅it’s a fun challenge/ game for me , I’m
    Super frugal 😂

I have learned to enjoy the simple things in life. Although there are many fun hobbies out there, I always opt for the cheaper / free hobbies. I always give it 24 hours - 3 months before purchasing a WANT item/experience. I look back on my spreadsheets to see what I have purchased recently. This helps me value what I already have and stops me from buying more things. I use the watering down shampoo and soap method too!

Love the change idea, I agree it is very rewarding! My husband and I have a change jar started and I cannot wait to see it grow. :)

I wash my delicates on a washboard and hang dry all of my clothes, towels, blankets. Always have done this and always will, no
Matter how much or little money I have. It’s something that brings me joy and is reminds me of my childhood. It’s frugal yet brings me comfort. 😅❤

When we go shopping we pay in cash..and round off the total..so if the total for example is $18.23..we pay with $20.00 and put away the change. For every stop we make..for example..the grocery store, the bank, get gas..we put away $1.00 for each stop. We save up for emergency money. I remember one year we saved up over $2,000.00. Also we make a list of what we NEED to buy. We never leave the house without a list. We live off of my husband disability check so we need to be very frugal and save and watch every penny..my husband can't work and I am his full time care giver. Thank goodness we paid off our house, no credit card balance and cars are paid off..both cars has been paid off before he became disabled, our 30 year mortgage payments where paid in 15 years, and we stay away from credit cards..

For the DIY, I like to use Dawn Dish Soap and Water mixture in a spray bottle as a multipurpose cleaner. I only use it everywhere in my house except the bathroom. Works really well, and saves me so much money. ☺️

This was a great video!! I feel you on the struggle with large breast that’s the only surgery I want is a reduction.
Also Raw Sugar (vegan and cruelty free) makes a pure scalp therapy my husband uses for his dry scalp and I use it for product build up. It’s also only like $9.
I am not buying any books right now bc I have so many to still read and been using the library.

Love your channel girl 💜 you are my go to ‘financial guru’ because I also keep it simple. I don’t yet invest- tbh idk if I ever will but I budget save and live intentionally. I’m also a hermit and homebody so that helps a lot keep up the great work 😊

Back when I was a server I'd save all my change & even smaller bills (mainly ones & fives) & not touch it for a month. After that month I'd have $1000+. I don't serve anymore but I still save my coins & whatever spare cash I have. Also I use Ibotta, I have almost $100 saved, at the end of the year I'll take whatever I have on ibotta & my voins/cash & put it in my savings.

My favorite videos! Especially with the cost of things now. I saw a video for homemade laundry soap, however it is too time consuming for me as I have health issues and other issues. If interested, the channel is Hopewell Heights "Large Family Laundry Soap/ How To Make Your Own Liquid Laundry Soap".
