"I am the push that makes you move." is one of my absolute favorite lines followed closely by "You can't kill me cuz I'm already inside you." This entire album is profound. 💙 from Texas.
This was the first Slipknot song I heard with Corey singing. I knew a girl from the Midwest that was a Slipknot fan from before Corey and like me, was a Mr. Bungle fan as well. Their old stuff was a lot like older Bungle but then this shit came out and we were all like, "THIS band grew up a little bit" 😂 Next thing we knew, they became one of the biggest metal bands that has ever existed in the world
The official video was a weird live version but the "FUCK YOU ALL" in that performance is still my absolute favorite Corey Taylor scream ever. He just meant it and you can feel it and it's probably even more therapeutic today than it was when I was an angsty teenager. You're also absolutely never supposed to scream like he did.
If you want the flipside from Corey, a song like "Through Glass" from Stone Sour is probably the best example. It's a soft rock song at best, but still very interesting and catchy. I think it was a legitimate hit for the band, at least it was in Canada.
I was a meta/goth/industrial fan in the British Army when this album came out. It might have changed by now, but back when this came out in '99 it wasn't easy being "ALT" in the military. This became a bit of an anthem for me.
I absolutely love those sections in Joeys drumming where it almost sounds like slow foot steps on the snare. You hear it at like 8:53 in this song, as well as the ending of “sic”.
When you brought up the possible topic of suicide, I immediately thought of "Everything ends", a highly requested iowa track. Touches a lot on that topic and the emotions that coincide with it.
I fucking love this song when I’m literally angry at everything. DONT YOU FUCKING JUDGE ME. This one is super fun live too, 8:53 is one of my favorite parts…lots of lumping live.
Smokey you Metal Card has been Revoked. JOHN BONHAM. lol I miss the old Slipknot. Just miss the aggression. The name of the song was BRUTAL lol but always love trying to get to it. Great Reaction.
Sat down with my coffee and enjoyed this. Thanks fellas, been really enjoying Slipknot Saturday. This song live in a small club was one of the most intense pits I have ever been apart of. Was an amazing experience I will never forget.
Hi bro's, i love Slipknot Saturday and i cant wait hear the songs ! Love you bro's ! Greatings and love from germany ❤️ ❤️ ❤️ ❤️ ❤️ ❤️ ❤️ ❤️ ❤️ ❤️ ❤️ ❤️ ❤️ ❤️ ❤️ ❤️ ❤️ ❤️ ❤️ ❤️ ❤️ ❤️ ❤️ ❤️ ❤️ ❤️
One thing to take into account with the drumming of Slipknot, they had Chris and Shawn also drumming in fills along with striking the beer keg. Their sound was just fucking tribal in my opinion. For instance the song Disasterpiece off of the Iowa album, Joey starts the drumming off, Shawn joins in after a bit and then Chris after that. What a lot of people don't realize is that all 3 of them intertwined their drumming within each other's playing so well that it can be hard to hear it, but I promise you can if you listen closely 🙂. It's fucking awesome and very unique. I think you both nailed it on the head, all 9 members threw everything out there on this album and it's a masterpiece in my opinion. Great reaction!!!
Check out Stone Sours Whiplash Pants. Corey wrote it about his kids and about how they can take things for granted and how he might not always be there to get them out of trouble. Its one of S.S.s heavier tunes on their later stuff. Their first album has some fairly heavy stuff mixed into it. Like on the first album check out Get Inside.
8:32 can anybody help identify who's doing tye backup vocals, I know it isn't Chris because he joined after they recorded the album I think, is it Paul?
Hard to say, if there's an isolated vocal track out there it might be easier to tell. Personally I'd lean towards it being Shawn or Corey but Paul could definitely be doing it!
Their original guitar player before Jim was Josh Brainard and he did backing vocals a lot on MFKR, even singing in Joey's pre-Knot band Modifidious, so I think he did them because it sounds a bit like him to me.
Imagine u r a 14/15 year old in 99 and u hear this song for the first time.....🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯. This whole album wrecked my head for awhile especially this song particularly the drums man....
Broooos please you can't keep sleeping on MALEVOLENCE! They're the future of new metal! React to On Broken Glass, Remain Unbeaten or Wasted Breath! You will not regret!
the riffs from mick and paul were from a underground old school death metal song called infestation from mick and paul,s local underground brutal death metal band called body pit as well as joey,s blastbeats
I remember this came out in my junior year of high school and I was hooked. That was my favorite album. I still play that today. I hope you check out Septicflesh Prototype live, I promise you it's not a troll request. They didn't play this when I saw them with Deicide and you will see why!
Another sic jam and killer reaction broskis! Love to see you do some more Primus(Lacquer Head would be awesome to see!) and more Static-X(Destroyer and Dirthouse) and Mushroomhead. Also I recommend Highly Suspect and The Amity Affliction
🦋Great Choice For Today as Always, Love This Song! 🎶🎶🤘😏✌🎶🎶 ''Don't belong! don't exist! Over and over and under my skin All this momentum is doing me in! Mornings are the only happiest time of the day. When you guys throw a new reaction video our way. All these words, I don't just say, Every day for us something new. Open minds for a different view, And nothing else matters''... Slipknot - Metallica 🎶
Got Mick's guitar pick after the last song of the night, which was this song. Happened a few weeks ago. Pretty lucky, I was surprised nobody caught it and it landed by my feet. I was also about 15 people deep from the front so it caught some air!
This is that song that makes me want to punt a small dog across a room. Love this song. Gotta check out either Birth of the Cruel or Gematria (The Killing Name). I would definitely check out Stone Sour. If I had to pick a song by them I'd either pick monolith or orchids. Great reaction fellas. Love starting my Saturday with some Slipknot. DUECES ✌️
Love the reactions guys!! Y’all get so into it and the excitement is crazy contagious, despite my having heard these songs countless times for 2 decades. Please react to My Plague (if you haven’t), Heretic Anthem, Joey’s drum cam of People=Shit, A Liar’s Funeral, and Killpop. Also, anything Corey has done solo.
Good day, Sirs. Two upstanding members of society, such as your good selves, really must take time to indulge in 'Underworld' Born Slippy. A song that it is impossible not to enjoy, unless you are not human. Even Putin declared a special operation to 'drop the bomb' once listening to this... it builds, it drops in madness. Check out Underworld... ballyhoo, and all that. Laters.
Overall Surfacing is one of my favourite songs from Slipknot. One reason i love this song is this special sound from the beginning, which reminded me of the bats from the first Diablo game. :D
Fellas… I remember listening to Self Titled aka Red Jumpsuit Era LOL and this song blew my mind like the album did too. Aggression and unapologetic lyrics, there’s nothing better IMO except IOWA, the two first albums set the pace for this band. Thank you Paul and Joey… RIP 🌹 as these men were huge in this band just like the rest #MAGGOTS #SLIPKNOT #OLDSCHOOL
Perfect pitch is something that you have to develop young, and it tends to go away as you age, I've heard it reported that often people with perfect pitch have trouble enjoying music because of it.
Hearing it live is a whole other beast that you just want to really mosh till you can't no more. Get Inside by Stone Sour is probably the most "nu-metal" song by them
Heard this on their demo cassette tape back in the day, it was the only Slipknot album I owned. I knew they were going to be big!! Still love that song even though I'm not a huge fan of Slipknot.
Both Shawn and Chris have been seen playing legit marching band snare drums. So, those may have been one of them while Joey took care of the toms and cymbals.
Top 70's drummers in order. 1.) Neil Peart (RUSH) 2.) John Bonham (Led Zeppelin) 3.) Bill Ward (Black Sabbath) 4.) Keith Moon (The Who) 5.) Artimus Pyle (Lynyrd Skynyrd)
"I am the push that makes you move." is one of my absolute favorite lines followed closely by "You can't kill me cuz I'm already inside you." This entire album is profound. 💙 from Texas.
This is always introduced live as Our New National Anthem. Should check out a live performance of Surfacing at some point. 🔥 Reaction!
You guys should just watch the whole Disasterpieces DVD. Changed my life
This is top tier Slipknot right here!!!
Peak slipknot song for sure
Hell yea! This was the first Slipknot song I ever heard and got me into them. Always love Joeys drumming! 🤘🏻
This was the first Slipknot song I heard with Corey singing. I knew a girl from the Midwest that was a Slipknot fan from before Corey and like me, was a Mr. Bungle fan as well. Their old stuff was a lot like older Bungle but then this shit came out and we were all like, "THIS band grew up a little bit" 😂 Next thing we knew, they became one of the biggest metal bands that has ever existed in the world
“I am the very disease you pretend to be”… I love that line!
This whole album is a banger
The official video was a weird live version but the "FUCK YOU ALL" in that performance is still my absolute favorite Corey Taylor scream ever. He just meant it and you can feel it and it's probably even more therapeutic today than it was when I was an angsty teenager. You're also absolutely never supposed to scream like he did.
Hey guys. Thank you for the amazing content. This is definitely one of my favourite songs.
"Eeyore." Hidden track on the same album and probably the heaviest song on the entire album. You should check out "Diluted", too.
this!!!
When I used to do backyard wrestling this was my entrance music....keepvitvrocking brother
thats awesome
If you want the flipside from Corey, a song like "Through Glass" from Stone Sour is probably the best example. It's a soft rock song at best, but still very interesting and catchy. I think it was a legitimate hit for the band, at least it was in Canada.
I'm moving to Canada when I turn 19
Thank y'all for doing old slipknot. First 2 albums are gold. Just subbed
So many great slipknot song... love Corey's singing voice not just his screamy ... look forward to more
One of my absolute favorite Slipknot songs! I've screamed these lyrics countless times. Next has to be "Eeyore" 🤘❤️
With this song everyone is really fully involved, it goes off completely, Sid turns through 😂🤘💪❤️💋
I was a meta/goth/industrial fan in the British Army when this album came out. It might have changed by now, but back when this came out in '99 it wasn't easy being "ALT" in the military. This became a bit of an anthem for me.
I absolutely love those sections in Joeys drumming where it almost sounds like slow foot steps on the snare. You hear it at like 8:53 in this song, as well as the ending of “sic”.
you guys make my day so much better
Enjoying this song this morning with you guys brought happy tears to my eyes. 😢😀
Finally! After thousands years later lol
This was my jam back in my angry teenager days! Such a fun one to see live too, an entire crowd raising their middle fingers is great lol
Would LOVE to see you get into all of stone sours stuff, really good stuff, Slipknot, next should be LIAR'S FUNERAL
I second all of that! For Stone Sour try "Get Inside".
One of my top 5 Slipknot songs.
When you brought up the possible topic of suicide, I immediately thought of "Everything ends", a highly requested iowa track. Touches a lot on that topic and the emotions that coincide with it.
R.I.P Paul Grey and Joey!! #maggot4life
I fucking love this song when I’m literally angry at everything. DONT YOU FUCKING JUDGE ME. This one is super fun live too, 8:53 is one of my favorite parts…lots of lumping live.

Hi bro's, i love Slipknot Saturday and i cant wait hear the songs ! Love you bro's ! Greatings and love from germany ❤️ ❤️ ❤️ ❤️ ❤️ ❤️ ❤️ ❤️ ❤️ ❤️ ❤️ ❤️ ❤️ ❤️ ❤️ ❤️ ❤️ ❤️ ❤️ ❤️ ❤️ ❤️ ❤️ ❤️ ❤️ ❤️
This is probably the most Athletic song ever created.
Love you guys getting exciting listening to these songs!

Slipknot - Gematria next please! It's SO good, and energetic. 🤘
absolute banger \m/\m/
Get Inside by Stone Sour is similar to the sound of early Slipknot
8:32 can anybody help identify who's doing tye backup vocals, I know it isn't Chris because he joined after they recorded the album I think, is it Paul?

Clown/paul did back ups before chris.
I remember back in a 1999 music fest. and they started playing this. we were singing along big time .great memories
Iowa title track next plz. Their scariest and most epic song. Slipknot’s “tool song” in a sense of spacious way
Yes finally our new national anthem
This is my favorite slipknot song.
Y'all should do more Stone Sour reactions

They used to end their shows with this song saying it's your new national anthem! Was a wild way to end a show
They don’t play it live anymore? I haven’t been to a show in years.

Got Mick's guitar pick after the last song of the night, which was this song. Happened a few weeks ago. Pretty lucky, I was surprised nobody caught it and it landed by my feet. I was also about 15 people deep from the front so it caught some air!

I love this Song. He is a Angry man! Trotz Not Long for this world! 🤟
Joey definitely didn't use no "auto tune" type tech on his kit. Good job guys, great tune!
Fellas… I remember listening to Self Titled aka Red Jumpsuit Era LOL and this song blew my mind like the album did too. Thank you Paul and Joey… RIP 🌹 as these men were huge in this band just like the rest #MAGGOTS #SLIPKNOT #OLDSCHOOL

Listen to get in side by stone sour, he has a bit of his rap flow
This might be my favorite Slipknot song 🔥
Perfect pitch is something that you have to develop young, and it tends to go away as you age, I've heard it reported that often people with perfect pitch have trouble enjoying music because of it.
y'all keep saying this was Slipknot's first. it wasn't. Mate. Feed. Kill. Repeat
Hearing it live is a whole other beast that you just want to really mosh till you can't no more. Get Inside by Stone Sour is probably the most "nu-metal" song by them
It’s about time 🤘
Heard this on their demo cassette tape back in the day, it was the only Slipknot album I owned. I knew they were going to be big!! Still love that song even though I'm not a huge fan of Slipknot.
This song at a concert man... The crowd reacts.
Lol… that was one of the funniest title guesses… hahahaha surfaces?
Corey rapping in Stone Sour is few and far between, but I'd strongly recommend 'Get Inside'. Have a great weekend fellas, (stay sic) 🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻
