The deathroot appears to be turning the erdtree black, and the erdtree only changes color when you use a mending rune on the elden ring, so the deathroot could be bypassing the elden ring by tampering with the erdtree and causing the corpses of the dead to come back to life
I remember doing some duels with my mate when people still summoned outside moon queens house. I actually played pretty true to the Bossfight as I was a skinny one and just played pretty passively just chucking fireballs majority of the time with the occasional sprint in there and get one or two attacks off. Funnily enough we actually got invaded and the invader fought the duel person so we just stood back and then turns out he was pretty chill so we just kept summoning more people for him to fight while we watched which worked out for everybody because he still got rewarded and his PVP fights and I just found it quite entertaining.

Most likely, I feel that the changes will mostly be on Leyndell, because Leyndell is the place that is most affected by the Erdtree, and the DLC is called Shadow of the Erdtree. So that's my thought about the DLC
imo the erdtree in the promo stuff for the dlc doesn't look as large as in the game, plus with it's more bark look, it could possibly be the Crucible, and we're going back in time for some reason

So, because Godwyn is literally just this empty body now, still "Alive" but for all purposes, the being that was Godwyn is dead. So, imagine that regardless of the ending you chose, whether you went with Ranni or took the throne or whatever. The **Greater Will** don't like it and it don't like you. Maybe you're a temporary fix as a lord, it doesn't enjoy the world being burnt or if you went against the Order for whatever ending you've chosen, it just doesn't want You coming after it. So, the DLC brings an entirely new area, adding to the map. A *New* Erdtree is plunged into the world from the sky to challenge you, carrying new kinds of Star-Beasts, Holy Valkyrie-like warriors that embody pure Order, Fae spirits and stuff. And you fight to get to the top of the Tree as it pierces the heavens Reaching the top of the new Erdtree, you find a huge arena and another of the weird.. Godwyn-shell root things. As you enter the arena, the shell hangs suspended in the highest branches, Alive. Stars of light and space flow into it. The shell rips free, golden leaves making up its hair as it crawls, long arms dragging its body as the lower half forms into the fish-like tail. The soul of Godwyn may be dead, but the form is more than enough to be a tool for the Greater Will. It's A Last Ditch Plan the Greater Will has, before you reach it. The empty vessel of the Former Demi-God breathes, deathblight flowing as it mindlessly charges you. The Music Starts, The Health bar and its name appears "The Golden Husk" One other idea was the Tarnished, Us, finally meeting Miquella but it's at the start of the DLC and he becomes our new partner. Maybe offering some new shop or levelling thing. Maybe something for remembrances. like Enia or Melina. But near the end, depending on our choices, he dies or he becomes a boss.
It would be cool if after this you guys did a draconic and normal tree sentinel run. One of you using golden order incants and the other ancient dragon.
IF Godwyn came back to life, I think he'd be WORSE than the Orphan of Kos, like FAR above Malenia or NG+7 Elden Beast, the sheer SCALE on how Godwyn would like your a$$, lol!
