I tried putting it back on it: either says the runner is open or closed and goes into limp mode. I tried hanging it off but then the gears spin freely and it has no idea where or what it’s doing so it says it’s closed and goes into limp mode. There’s no tune shop here i’d love to just get a tune and it be fixed. Any suggestions?
We had a street tune done using open source software to work with the factory ECU here locally. A quick Google search yields some results for remote Subie tuning. So that may be an option for you. There's also the Access Port from Cobb, which should have the ability to shut off the TGV system. I can't 100% speak on that because I have no direct experience but I'm pretty confident the AP can do a lot.
Did you re install the motors afterwards? Or get the tune this is where everyone ends their videos and they’re never quite clear if they just leave the motors on or completely remove them
Great question. I believe you can remove the butterfly from each chamber and reinstall without needing a tune. For the process we did, you require a tune because all the TGV components are removed and motors are unplugged. I can't speak on whether plugging in loose motors will fix the codes. In theory it sounds like it could.
When we did the TGV modifications we also did the RA shortblock so we don't have a perfect before and after comparison. It's said that a TGV delete will net power gains though, and our tuner said the same. If you open up the TGV you will see there is a lot in there to cause turbulence.
@@DadModsMedia thanks for the information. My tuner recommended I do the same as you guys. With my type ra short block and these upgrades should make for a fun daily driver
Always here to help! Yeah Jake loves his LGT as a daily. It makes an excellent powerband and drives smooth! Good luck Raul, hope all goes well. Make sure to toss a 3 port boost controller on while you're at it. Our tuner said that was a must.
You will also have to get your turner to turn off the CEL

Can you tell the difference with the tgv delete? My tuner recommended I do a tgv delete and upgrade my injectors to 1050x top feed injectors

@@DadModsMedia I was lucky enough that the old owner had one on the car.
Corn on the Cobb! LOL
