I've seen a lot of different expressions from you because of Ren, but just connecting with the joy of the music and performance is why we all love this one too. These busking sessions were just free on the street. The Big Push were all buskers, just playing for people on the street who threw tips in the guitar case or bought cds from it. They were out busking all the time. Love that he mixes Dead Prez in at the end.

Ren has lived and worked (musically) in Brighton which is known as Brighton by the sea,, or Brighton and Hove. It’s known as the cultural capital of England-art, music,poetry, etc., with lots of musicians and actors residing there. It’s 30 minutes by train to London.. It’s Britains’ favourite seaside resort for those who don’t or can’t hop over the channel to Europe or fly to warmer climbs in summer. I hope. The Big Push get back together so much.

Ren really comes to life in his live performances. There are many videos of The Big Push busking, also a couple of him busking with Chinchilla (also live performances of Chalk Outlines and How To Be Me with Chinchilla), a few of him busking/performing live with Sam Tompkins, one or two of him busking with Romain Axisa, some of him busking solo. He has not been doing live/busking performances for over a year now because he has been getting medical treatment in Canada. That is due to finish in about 3 months (fingers crossed) and after that, who knows, maybe some more live performances (I hope so !)

A scot here. Honest question, where’s Ren’s accent? I’d expect someone from Anglesey, to have quite a strong accent, in a similar way to someone from the Isle of Skye here. But I’m obviously just guessing. Unless he moved away, but I don’t think he did until Uni?
@AayJayEmm you will find the majority of the north coast of Wales has been diluted with the influx of English settlers, second home owners, over many years. To hear the true Welsh tone of Wales, you have to go inland to the small villages and farming communities.

Very "skinny" the north of Wales is. Edinburgh is slowly diluting. Same for Glasgow, but it's very area specific. I can't remember who said it but "There's two accents in Glasgow. Accent number one let's everyone know you come from Glasgow. Accent number two let's everyone know you come from money."

The last song "Hip-Hop", is a track by the 90's hip-hop duo Dead Prez, they were pretty big in the NY underground scene through most of the decade. The content of their music/lyrics echoed their personal lives, both focused on social issues like social justice, self-determination, and Pan-Africanism, they worked with the Black Panthers, and I believe one of them was a member of the Uhuru Movement, founded by Omail Yeshitela. As far as guitarists with their mouth open weirdly when they're jammin', I love that you noticed that, It's wild how many guitarist do it. You know what though, I think it's similar to when a rapper is really in his/her bag, and just spittin fire, you know, that one verse that hits harder than the rest, and their hands are always moving, like their juggling something, or rearranging invisible blocks in front of them. I think the truly gifted rappers see those words in their mind, and they probably are "juggling them" and their hands just follow suite. Who knows, crazy though how many do it. Great reaction!!! ✌️💚
