Hey guys! Just wanted to give an update! Ryan over at Team Grind King has graciously responded and with any luck I will be putting these trucks to the test in the near future! Shoutout to Ryan and Everyone at Team Grind King! It is much appreciated!

i have a few sets of old grindkings from '90s-'00s. g5 highs, 2 sets of g6 or g7. they've always innovated and made solid products - inverted kingpins, axles that don't slip, bridgebolts, etc. i think these are kinda goofy but growing on me, i wanted to try the disruptors the first ones they came back out with.
I think they're gonna have a slow start convincing people to try them. There will always be collectors and curious people. But I'm not sure as a staple. One thing is skateboarding is super minimalist right now and I don't think too many people are into the gaudy look atm. For most medium level skaters a few slappy sessions and carve grinds later you got grooves started. I've seen people put wheel wells, rails, those plastic tail thingys, even copers. But haven't heard of someone pre grooving their truck. It's a brilliant idea but kinda gimmicky. Gk has always had bright ideas but implemented at the wrong times during trends in skateboarding. They're not marketing too strong and don't have a team either. I think something so bizarre should have a strong start and skaters rocking them... footy. If gk woulda waited a year and built a team and some tone for their brand, maybe change up the 90's logo, and actually had them tested thoroughly before starting a campaign for them. That being said, I personally like gk, and would definitely try them. I think them bringing back kreper would sell more than the lockers and disruptors combined. Nostalgia is popping rn 😂
Marketing stuff for skateboarding has always been at a weird place in social media. I hope this will work well for grind king and instead of gimmicks we end up with innovation. I think they could definitely make these look better later down the line but for right now I wana put the weird curvy orange trucks on my board and get so cross locked that I forget if I’m going frontside or backside.
I think the coolest thing on these aren't the lock-in grooves on the hangers, but the "adjustable" wheelbase mounting holes. That's something that now that I've seen it, I'm wondering, why isn't it more common?
Reynolds have dabbled in drilling his Indy trucks shorter. Just using the front two on a six hole plate, and then drilling the new inside holes through the the board holes. Making them an 8 hole baseplate. Would give a wheelbase similar to an ace truck. Geometry would stay the same though, it’s just the pop timing and the balance points that are changed.
@ having different hole patterns on trucks is nothing new but I’m happy it’s making a comeback here lately. A lot of my old school decks only work with bigger Indy’s so it’s nice to have a few brands making more one size fits all trucks.
I'll likely buy the 8.75 Raw ones. I wish 9 inch was in the first drop. Plus I've been using those kingpins since the 80s and pretty much can never go back to a standard kingpin unless the truck has insane grind clearance like a Venture or a Slappy truck.
It’s always the oddest parts of your setups that just stand the test of time. I have some old lucky bearings that I have never had to clean and have never lost the shiels on them. I’ve had them almost 20 years and they still roll perfectly
@bigdeckenergy8119 i had a couple of 8.75's in my cart right when the pre order started and i goofed up on my account sign in and they slipped away. They were sold out in less than 4 min. Ive been salty about it all day. Been telling myself I wanted bigger ones anyway. Lol Thats how it goes sometimes lol!
Do like, 9 ten kickflips... do zem evweewhere... I am personally a sucker for gimmicky equipment... I'll probably buy a pair as long as I can get hard bushings for them... bushings have never once worked for me w the stock trucks.... bones hard for all overweight guy applications 😅
@@bigdeckenergy8119sometimes gimmicks work. Sometimes it just doesn't align with the mentality. An old skate friend told me how many used to think flat bottom on half pipes were a gimmick
@@Faerie-Princess I think the fact they are asking people to let them know what they like and don’t like about these shows that they aren’t supposed to be a quick money gimmick. They want to release the first version and improve on it as they go. I can dig it!
@bigdeckenergy8119 we skaters haven't really been the most receptive on some of the gimmicky products. Just a bit larger market than before. At least this pregrooved truck ain't got a split axle.

Venture did it recently and gk may have adopted the idea from them. But gk’s version looks more versatile if it works

Hopefully they will work well and be successful so we can get more sizes!
i have some 20yo stock grindking bushings in my 30yo venture superlight lows on my primary setup. i can't believe they still work and well.

The base plate seems cool
The baseplate holds many mysterious secrets indeed!
I’m kinda interested in them, just to try them out, sometimes different is good
The older I get the more I like to try new things with my setup! Not sure how good they will be but I’m hyped to skate them either way.
@ I haven’t skated grind king trucks since the early 2000s, it’s cool to see them coming back
I love a good comeback story!
i am not talented enough to actually grind them. i just hope they make 159 or larger. and make super colourful
I hear that🤘
I’m sure if the first wave does well they will come out with other sizes. Bring the color back to trucks!!!!
YAS!
I like the adjustable wheel idea
I know venture has some too
I’m excited for the adjustable wheel base just so I can have a little more nose on some of my Oldschool shapes!
I think they look legit. Hopefully they'll do some 9" soon.
@@GreybeardSkates I’m pretty sure they mentioned bigger sizes are in the works atm! Not 100% if 9” was one of them

Hard bushings are for the dad bods! Also it’s only a gimmick if it doesn’t really work!

They sound like they're worth a try, especially if you do a lot of grinds. But will they get trashed faster?
Only one way to find out!
