    Loved your response to the vaccine question - just so calm, non inflammatory and polite. Overall I'm impressed at how much you think about and educate yourself on issues (judging from watching a few videos now). Everything you say is quite well supported and critically reasoned but you present in such a joyful and calm way - thanks for giving us some insight into the Bruderhof. God Bless!

      @Chuck B except that if a lot of people do this, some diseases will reappear .. so you and your family are in fact protected by the people who do have their children vaccinated .. even if you are within your parental rights ( I don't know the laws in your country, I'm French and in France some vaccines are compulsory )

      @@francoise4678 As a nurse who has worked with vulnerable communities (children with serious medical conditions), I'm aware that some children can not be vaccinated due to their weakened conditions. When someone with a healthy kid refuses, stating it is their right as a parent, what they should be stating is that they are willing to ride on the coat tails of herd immunity, including vaccinated kids. That's the problem with civil disagreement: people can throw out the "it's my right" card as if it defends their antisocial position. Those antivax kids can spread the disease that is currently asymptomatic. They might get sick and need a few weeks to recover, but it is deadly to my students (cystic fibrosis, cerebral palsy and cancer) . So, yeah, I have an attitude about it and I support mandatory vaccinations for children entering public classrooms. Period. End of debate.

    Do you receive any kind of an allowance for any small things not provided from the community? What happens if someone makes a special gift for someone? Is it automatically community property that you might have to give up at any time? Do you consider yourselves spiritual cousins to the Mennonites, Amish, and Hutterites? Can a Bruderhof member marry someone who is not a member? Is the Bruderhof like many Amish or Hutterites or even some Mennonites in the fact that they rarely if ever go to school past grade 8?

      I do not know but I was not thinking of a clothing item that a person might grow out of. I just think it would be unfair to the receiver to expect them to give away a special gift and might make the giver feel bad if they found out that a special gift they gave to someone was valued so little that it was given away without a thought.

      I suppose my question in regards to vaccines was more of autonomy. Whether or not each parent has that complete autonomy over their children or if it’s “required“ to vaccinate once you live inside the community. I totally understand people who still vaccinate. But because my son was vaccine damaged, I won’t be vaccinating him anymore.
      I definitely don’t judge others who have had a good experience with vaccines!

    Great video as always, thanks so much for these. I believe you mentioned in the past that you spent several years living in a Bruderhof community in England. As a Brit myself, I'd be fascinated in hearing more about your experience living here, any differences you noticed in how British people behave compared to Americans or any differences in how Bruderhof communities operate between our countries. Let me guess, you weren't a big fan of our weather? It gets a bit old having permanently grey skies. You asked that other British guy how he found out about your channel; for me I think it was because of the publicity here surrounding a BBC documentary that was supposed to air about the Bruderhof in the UK. Sadly it didn't air in the end for some reason, which really bummed me out because I was super hyped for it and I was constantly checking when it would air for months. I've given up on it airing at this point. Say, you wouldn't happen to have super secret special access to it that you could share, right? Worth a shot!

    I'll be honest, my concern with your community (and others who are very similar) is the vaccination point. Now, I don't assume you don't, as it would not be fair to you. But when I read the tittle, my heart skipped a bit because "what if..." It's important to mention that I am undergoing chemo and have been for a years, so this is the reason people being vaccinated is so important to me. I'm more likely to get sick and have complications (so Covid has been really stressful so far).
    Also, I just started watching a couple of your video and I really enjoy your joyful attitude and how you look so comfortable in front of the camera (if it's only an illusion, well done! because it really seems like this is really easy for you!) wishing you all the best!

    Hi Laura, love your spirit. I would kindly suggest you do more research into the politics of vaccinations. There is alot of political influence on research grants and research papers to do with this. The heavy metals from vaccines lodge anywhere in the body (including the brain) and don't easily get removed, and could simply just stay there. Also human DNA in vaccines (whether from contamination or otherwise) has an extremely high chance of causing autoimmune disease due to your immune systems response to it.

    I love your videos and appreciate your sweet, Godly spirit. When you said "fashion is so stupid,' on one side I agree. It can be taken way too far. But then I thought about it from the side that it's ok to love beautiful things. God made a beautiful world for us to enjoy. You're an artist, so, of course. you create beauty and appreciate beautiful art. Can't fashion be thought the same of? I'm by far not a materialistic person but I love wearing beautiful pieces as well as viewing beautiful art and looking at beautiful scenery. Isn't buying beautiful clothing the same as hanging beautiful art in one's home? What do you do with your paintings? Do you hang them to enjoy or give them away and if you do give them away, do you give them to fellow Bruderhofs to hang and admire in their homes? My question is certainly not meant to be contentious. I'm just very curious as to the parameters of the subject.

    Like if this 18 year old is dead set on being a doctor, or a theologist, so something he could bring back with himself into the community, would you guys support that?
    Also who makes that decision, apart from the kids and the parents?
    I'm thinking free education obviously (I come from France and I don't really get the thing with exuberant American prices for education) and that the kid doesn't want to leave the community but wants to come back ; I suppose if he wanted to leave it would be an altogether different conversation :)

      I'd like to know that too. I'm Christian as well (no particular denomination, just try to follow the bible while still accepting scientifically proven theories like gravity, evolution etc...) but I'm not against LGBT people. Just against the super liberal 'SJW' position and the people who try to push this stuff on kids (not answering questions the child may have, more like discussing gender dysphoria (transgender people) in freakin' kindergarten!
      I'm bisexual myself, but just happened to meet a great man instead of a woman, so now I'm married to a man and we had our first child - a baby girl named Mila Sophie - just a few months ago.

    • @misoweli
      @misoweli 4 ปีที่แล้ว +21

      Violet Heroine hey, congratulations on having a baby :) it's great that you're not against the lgbtq+ community, but i'm not sure what you mean by "push this stuff on kids". it's a fact that trans people exist and there's not a problem with being trans. a child can't become trans by being told that trans people exist. also there's nothing about trans people's existance that's so terrible that kids can't know about it. sure gender is a complex thing but if a child grows up knowing there are all sort of people in this word, different ethnicities, different religions, etc can help make a child less prejudiced when dealing with all types of people in the future. of course a child doesn't have to know the ins and outs of different surgeries and chemical transitions that some trans people have, but just educating a child that some boys like boys instead of girls or some people are born boys but are actually girls is harmless in my opinion. i think a lot of lgbtq+ people wish that they'd grown up knowing that it's ok to be different from a young age and for that to have been more normalised so they want the next generation to know that rather than it being indoctrination or anything like that, because you can't make a child gay or bi or trans. hopefully you understand my point of view as a liberal a little bit more! best wishes to you and your family!

      You’re not allowed to have sex or relationships with the same sex. The official line is the same as many fundamentalist Christians where they say “there’s nothing wrong with *experiencing* same sex attraction, as long as you don’t act on it”; not realising the insidious self-hatred that inflicts upon LGBT people.

    • @misoweli
      @misoweli 4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Ianthe May that's very upsetting :(

    • @Tintenfischchen
      @Tintenfischchen 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@misoweli Well, it's a matter of opinion/interpretation...
      Some Christians interpret the bible very literally while others see it more like a guide on how to live a good life, including helpful stories, metaphors, some translation errors (it IS a very old book after all). I belong to the latter type of Christian.
      We know now that homosexual people are born this way and that their sexuality can't be changed (otherwise conversion therapy would actually work). We as Christians all believe we're created by God, through literal creation like in genesis or through evolution (which was started by God) - doesn't matter... We're created by the Lord himself, so if I'm created by the Lord and I was born as a bisexual woman, God created me to be a bisexual woman. That's my opinion...
      I like to think God created LGBT people to teach mankind tolerance and make them realize the beauty of individuality as well as the fact that we're all just imperfect humans in the end...

    Wow! I just found this channel and it is so interesting to hear about and I resonate with so much of what you say and think a lot of the ideas and freedom is so healthy for such a community!
    We are a family who believes in science but does not vaccinate our children (or ourselves.) I've read countless studies, in depth, not just the abstract and wow, the standards these studies are held to are very low and often the placebo is not actually inert as it should be but is everything in a vaccine that is concerning minus the virus itself.
    My question is as non-violent individuals, how do you feel about the aborted babies used in vaccines and consistently harvested in the search for new cell lines such as MRC-5?

    • @wurzellicht6657
      @wurzellicht6657 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      There is only one vaccine wich uses the cloned cells of one fetus wich died centurys ago.
      Why should anyone care about a 40 year old fetus who was never able to feel anything.
      What exactly is your point here?

      @@wurzellicht6657 That is not true and I'm not asking for anyone to care. I am asking the poster of this video how they feel about it and if they feel that is fine, I am okay with that too.

    Thanks to Bruderhof and Laura for being so upfront and honest on internal and personal issues.
    @3:50 What do You mean by "we vaccinate"? Your family or the whole Bruderhof? I suppose it is the whole Bruderhof as the question @3:22 targets the community, not the individual family.
    So, are vaccines mandatory for Bruderhof members or is one or a family "pressured" or "talked into" doing so? Or is it up to the individual family whether children get vaccined or not?
    In general, I always find it remarkable that people who care about what they eat and prefer natural healing methods or are Christian by belief, still get vaccines with a whole lot of toxins directly injected into one's body without any firewall or barrier and also some vaccines rely on aborted fetus tissue to develope...

    Romans 3: 23
    For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;
    Hebrews 9: 27
    And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment:
    Isaiah 64: 6
    But we are all as an unclean thing, and all our righteousnesses are as filthy rags; and we all do fade as a leaf; and our iniquities, like the wind, have taken us away.
    Revelation 21: 8
    But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.
    Romans 5: 8
    But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.
    John 3: 16
    For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
    John 14: 6
    Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.
    Romans 10: 9-10.
    That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
    For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.
    Jesus said John 5: 24
    Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life.
    1John 5: 10-13
    He that believeth on the Son of God hath the witness in himself: he that believeth not God hath made him a liar; because he believeth not the record that God gave of his Son.
    And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son.
    He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life.
    These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God.
    Ephesians 2: 8-9
    For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:
    Not of works, lest any man should boast.
    Romans 8: 1
    There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.
    1 Corinthians 15: 3-4
    For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures;
    And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:
    2 Corinthians 5: 21
    For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.
