I just quit my nursing job on the spot because I got written up for being out sick after I was hospitalized and admitted on the same unit I work on after being diagnosed with cdiff and a severly critical platelet count. They said only the days in the hospital are excused. The other days I was out (and had a dr note for every single day) as well as a Gi follow up, they said I broke the policy....i tried to apply for fmla but they said i didnt qualify because i hadnt been there a year yet....bye byeeeeee
The caller got written up for attending a relative’s funeral. Is it any wonder why “nobody wants to work anymore?” The only therapy the caller needs is to escape the “9-5 rat race.”
I really lucked out with my employer. Have never had an issue with time off, PTO, medical appointments, taking kids to school and pick-up.
I love that Ken’s promoting therapy. I started working with a spiritual life coach / mentor over two years ago, and it greatly helped me identify the direction I want to move in, and now I’m moving in that direction. It really helps.
I've worked in the same warehouse for 20 years; the money is good, but the environment is toxic. Lots of gossip, idiot co-workers and bosses. HR and Upper management always on power trips, making up the rules as they go. From my research, warehouses are all pretty similar.
I think Austin is experiencing job burnout and dissatisfaction, I'm not the biggest fan of unions but at least they got the point removed for him. Ken is right on the part about maybe needing to see a therapist to deal with issues.
Yep. This is why I left Transportation/Distribution Management. Toxic management across the board and they're incestuous with HR.
I've never heard of a place acknowledging anything like a point system. Maybe hourly jobs might have a rule like missing work 3 times results in termination or something like that, but that would be the closest.
I work at 3M and this is the same policy for production workers. Executive and management can come and go whenever they want. 3M wonders why their workforce is hemorrhaging and stock price has plummeted over the last ten years. Corporate America has lost its way.
Let the man talk
Sounds like he's making a mountain out of a mole hill. I don't know what a "point" means in his company, but usually it's essentially meaningless unless he already has a long history of corrective actions. Not to mention he casually mentioned that the union got it removed.
This is like every blue collar job
Every Single EVERY SINGLE job i have ever had...im 46 now.... has had a point system of some type.
Food production job
Poultry processong jobs
Canning jobs
Retail job
All of them!!!
So what is the host supprised at???
Thats like ALL general labor jobs
Point system is standard for union environment. If you didn’t have it some employees would abuse the system. It’s a check/balance.
Also lack of confidence is normal nowadays because grown adults have never done anything work related and they have the mentality of 10 year olds.
Lots of excuses but they’ve been playing video games and on their phone.
Dont they have medical leave for things like this? People and their families get sick and hospitalized, its a fact of life employers need to realize
Corporate America expects workers to be indentured servants/serfs.
I thought most jobs have point systems ?
Yeah it's pretty unprofessional to not follow up at all with what happened. That being said if I was in his shoes my employer would understand. Finding the right employer is key.
What am I supposed to do if I’m 27M with almost $80,000 in student loan debt, 7 month old son, unemployed, and can’t find a job? I sent out like 1000 job applications in the past week, rejection after rejection
you gotta Taylor your resume to the job.
@@fauxbro1983 I do that too. I even make individual cover letters for each job and it’s still just rejection after rejection
@@fauxbro1983doesn’t work. I literally make cover letters for each job too and still all rejections. I just feel like other applicants are stronger and the job market sucks
I hope the caller got a refund or rebate to his phone call because he never got a clear answer to his question.
Dude quit trolling you crap on every video you watch the receipts are visible..
Someone didn't get a doctor's note
They have a point system to keep attendance policies fair. The guy deserves the point.
WHAT!? You can’t be serious.
