I legit discovered, downloaded, played, thoroughly enjoyed and beat the game in a couple of hours, using all my muscle memory from playng all those TMNT games as a kid. I'm 41 now. Thanks for this video.
This looks like an absolute treasure and perfect example of the passion of the fans. And as the one reviewer stated you can never have enough beat'em ups these days.
2020 was the year of beat ‘em up games for me. I played dozens of beat ‘em ups throughout the year. Your videos were just an added bonus for many of the games I played thru. This game is absolutely amazing. I rewatched the original TNMT cartoon series before playing all the games, including this one. Which reinforced my love for the franchise. Sadly, I never beat this game all the way through. I got to the last level and unfortunately lost all my lives and got a game over. I told myself I would revisit the game again soon, but that has not happened yet. Maybe that’ll change now that I’ve watched this video
Oh woooooooow I didn't even know this existed, thank you so much for making this video! If this existed back then, my friends, cousins, my brother and I would've played the heck out of this, when you're little you have fantasies of making your favorite games as your own, its awesome to see people actually doing it, makes me wanna get up and do it also.😉
just downloaded it off the strength of this video and played it for about 10-15 mins. this is a quality fan game. Works flawlessly on my pretty basic ass system. Pretty small file too. Thanks @top hat gaming man for making me aware of this.
The ending of Rescue Palooza is so great, the way MersoX blends in dialogue from the cartoon is fantastic. Same with his Power Rangers: Beats of Power game MersoX has up, just incredible work. Glad you are covering these openbor games, lots of great creators there
I discovered this game and the fan made Streets of Rage through this channel. Two of the best games I played last year. This one in particular has so much replay value.
I may check this out, wish it was based off turtles in time or Hyperstone Heist though. Too bad games like this don't get released on PSN with multiplayer support.
Didn't even wait to finish the video and went and downloaded and played it then came back to watch the rest of the video. This is truly an amazing game and would've easily paid some money for it.
My cousin and I went to see the 30th anniversary rescreening of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie. We saw it together as little kids the first time and it was epic. I recall on Saturday mornings playing TMNT on the NES, in my TMNT pj's, eating my TMNT cereal, out of my TMNT bowl. Marketing was effective...
I played 2 players by myself with a PS4 controller it was awesome. P1- Left analog, select for start, attack L1, special L2, hold L1 n press R3 for 2nd attack. P2- Mirror P1 P3- Emergency Life was played with D-Pad and Face buttons. I had to figure this out because on my first playthrough I got stuck with 1 life at the Technodrome.
Yes! This is the most interesting content to me! THe fan produced stuff! Keep it up! Would love to see more like this. I learned about so many fan games through you
Of course this is better. Whoever developed this game is obviously a huge fan and had 30 years of material to study. The designer took all of our turtle fantasies and placed them into a fantastic game. We all looked at this project and wonder why Nintendo couldn't produce this in the 90's.
I was hoping that a new official TMNT beat 'em up was released (like the recent revival with SoR4, River City Girls, and Fight'N Rage), but this looks like it has more time and effort than any other recent TMNT game. Can't wait to try it out.
I saw the trailer and I’m so ecstatic. Not much gameplay was shown, but it’s exactly how I would want a new TMNT game in the modern gaming age. I hope there’s some cool unlockable characters like Splinter, April, Casey, and Usagi!
This is fantastic! I had no idea this existed and I'm quite a big fan of the Turtles. Have the arcade machine and everyting lol How did this slip me by. Must be getting auld hahaha thanks buddy for informing me of this one, I'm on it. Turtle Power! 🏴☕😎🕹
The guy who made this needa picking up so they can make a full game and get it out there as a full release. I would to have this on my switch. Gonna play it on my pc in a bit.
15:45 Oh goddamn, would ya look at that haha. Heard the website name and my attention got nabbed haha. Iv'e been part of Retrospekt.com.au for over a decade or so now, writing stuff and makin' vids and the like. When I was watchin' I reccognised the game from the article Matt wrote on there which was what ya quoted in the vid too. And it was the first one up, before Kotaku even haha. That's neat. Cheers for linkin' to it in the description too, that's also great. Will let the other's know and shoot 'em a link to the vid and such. Pretty sure they'd love to see haha. And keep up the great work with these video's, been watchin' em pretty regularly lately. EDIT: And hey cool, lil Game Boy next to me name haha. Tis me fave and I make game for it too so I really like the look of that.
Certainly be of the best openbor mods!! I made a demo many years ago called Enter the Double Dragon. There’s a few gameplay videos online, and you can play as Bimmy. Never got time to continue the project so sadly not weapons implemented.
A game I'm endlessly glad I stumbled upon back in 2019. I'm not going into the standard "shame that the best game isn't even official" rant, but the developers knew what worked in the Konami games and ran with it. And it's much more than just a best of, too. It's so full of the kind of Turtles references only those who are really knowledgeable in the franchise, at least the 80's cartoon and the first 3 movies. I kinda wish someone would make a 2k3 or 2012 TMNT sequel.
It's so nice to finally see the sprites! Cuz bless the nes their sprites are so blasted cute but there was so much flickering on the old systems. I would love to see 8 bit mega man on a more powerful system that can handle all the sprites this time round. So amazing and so fun!
8:20 You mixed up Splinter and Shredder. But it's a funny thought, that Splinter had enough of 30 years of raising the Turtles and became the villain instead.
This is based off of the 1987 TMNT show and the Archie comics. I wish Rescue Palooza was made back in the 1990s. I love this 60 character roster. If the game was presented in 16:9 aspect ratio, it could’ve allowed up to 6 players cooperatively, but that would require unlocking at least two characters. Rescue Palooza also tore a page from Golden Axe’s playbook. There are characters that can’t use mounts, e.g. Chrome Dome.
Very very cool. I like the graphic style and mechanics of turtles in time a lot more than the NES ones but that’s a small gripe I can’t wait to try this out
I’ve never heard of this game before!! It feels like it should be a game on the Switch’s eShop of PS Store instead of a PC download; local multiplayer works better on consoles than on PCs in my opinion. Still, I look forward to trying it out no matter where I have to play it - thanks BDTH!!
You missed up saying it was splinter that kidnapped April not Shredder and you can see it is shredder on the TV screen at 8:31 min thought you might want to fix that other then that awsome video
I hope the original 8 bit soundtracks are intact. I hold the somewhat controversial opinion that TMNT 3: The Manhattan Project is the best soundtrack on the NES so I'm very particular. This looks amazing nonetheless! Thanks for bringing it to my attention. It's so easy for gems like this to go unnoticed in today's gaming scene.
Hey buddy! Great Vid! 😎👍 I always get a giggle when I see others discover *Openbor,* Welcome Newcomers! 😏 This is literally *The Very Best TMNT Game Ever!* ...Literally!
i give the creator of this game all the praise and props he deserves. i know this was an undertaking, however the only critic i would give is the whole game art style should have been done in the original arcade style. good job to the creator tho💪
Holy freaking awesome! I have never heard of this game but it looks really good. Thank you for this review🤘😎 I had some financial issues so I had to temporarily suspend my support but I'm back supporting again. I was obsessed with the ninja turtles I even used to buy the ninja turtles Valentine's cards to give out.
Yeah I saw this game a while back. It looks incredibly fun. Great mix of the video games, action figures, cartoon, movies and comics. This absolutely has to be the greatest tmnt he ever made. I would seriously pay 100 dollars for a copy on an snes or n64 cartridge. I get that the dude can't make a profit off this because he doesn't own the rights, but come on.... We live in the age that someone can bootleg the hell out of this. It needs to be made!
Damn, April in this videos thumbnail is RACKTASTIC.

Tis the Reason for my visit ;)

Thanks for this video.
As a fan of the beat'em up genre, thank you for introducing me to this TMNT gem today!
Yes this is my first time seeing this as well
Where can I play this bem

Turtle's are green
Another video game I've never seen.
Thank you
TMNT video is just what I wanted/need for valentine's
Love your coverage man! To give me some TMNT news like this on Valentines day shows you care! ❤ Thanks man!
I will always care
@@TopHatGamingManChannel Thanks Bro! Happy Valentines to you n the Miss Lady Tophat!
Really glad to see these fan made games getting some attention. Also hoping I'll come across a game I haven't played before

I must play this.
These are my favorite kinds of videos. I never knew this fan game existed, and it looks amazing.
I have beat this game like 50 times at this point. Its so damn good.

So basically everything we have been asking for the last 100 years 😂
Welcome to 'The Fandom Menace', Big Daddy Top Hat.
I love this game. One of the two ultimate TMNT games (along with Turtles In Time).
Tomorrow is our province’s “family day” and I’ll be sitting with my kids, trying this game out.
Oh man this is so cool! I've always loved SOR remake. I'm going to have to find someone to play through this with before I get it.
I love TMNT I did not know about TMNT Rescue Palooza, but I know about TMNT Shreders Revenge
I may check this out, wish it was based off turtles in time or Hyperstone Heist though. Too bad games like this don't get released on PSN with multiplayer support.
Now hold the phone for a second! As an 80's kid all I can say is... "Yes please. I'll have some of that!"

This game is bassicslly TMMT Mania
More like TMNT generations since the lack of original levels
I love this game, so glad you're covering it
Quite possibly the best TMNT fan made game ever put together even right before the more official game "TMNT: Shredder's Revenge" came along!
The game looks awesome; vey nice job honoring many of the characters in the series from the cartoons to the video games series.
Umm??? The Shredder said "to celebrate 30yrs", so does this make the TEENAGE MUTANT NINJA TURTLES into the MIDDLE AGE NINJA TURTLES now??
I forgot how hot April O'Neil was. And the vid thumbnail, good grief!!
Trying to find the artist who did this.
She seems a little... Enhanced. Compared to her original form.

Hi Top Hat, I'm a Huge fan of the Turtles and I will be more than happy to play with this awesome looking Turtles game and thanks for the heads up
Hell Yeah! You reviewed Rescue Palooza!
I've been looking forward to this!

This was a great comprehensive coverage of this openbor game!
I have never heard of this one! I'm glad I know about it now. Will definitely be checking this one out.

Can i know where i can find that TMNT art work on the thumbnail? I love that Capcom-style you see
Forget Super Smash Brothers, THIS is a game that's a "love letter" to fans.
eh well its a licensed game of course has to stay accurate the crossover does not need to but it did
It's not licensed, though. It's entirely a fan work, unauthorized by Viacom (the modern owners of the franchise).
