Among any undead genre I've seen, this one's my favorite.
Seeing a skeleton or even a zombie well-armed and geared while moving so lively as a living soldier would has got to be the most badass horror image there is.

I betchya the Skeleton Soldiers were Cliff and Johns old squad, and while maybe they died in a way that merged their Beaches, they were so loyal, they found Cliff again to help him.
John stated on the later cutscenes that Cliff always take home his whole squad in one piece so basically all of his men are alive.

An interesting thing to note
Die Hardman got his name because he was impossible to kill in combat. But not because of his skill, but because his team leader (Cliff) would not allow him, or anyone else on the team to die. Meaning he always brought all his men home with 0 casualties. This gave him the utmost trust and loyalty from his team.
However, in his death, he leads undead soldiers that wear the same uniforms as his fellow teammates. Although I believe these aren't his dead teammates, but a manifestation of his tactical spirit. And they are a representation of how his men will follow him into hell or death itself.
Could be from the same unit but a different squad.

A representation of that or his regret that he may never know if his men are still fighting, let alone alive to see the end of their fight at that point. Instead of facing that possibility, he's chasing shadows while pulling the strings that kept him going for so long into the depths with him.
I like how the skeleton soldiers in the back line tap the ones in front before they advance to give signals. Talk about immersive

Also I doubt WWII solders often hipfire for higher firing rate because for 5 rounds in bolt action, you need to make your shot count.

I'm glad Clifford Unger got a redemption arc. His was the most compelling and tragic story. You could at least understand and sympathize with his rage. Higgs on the other hand was just a dick.

@Durr Durrr that and Amelie MADE him that way to be the counter to Sam. She inspired Sam to fight against all odds for the future and Higgs to bring destruction. She couldn't make the choice of whether or not to cause the 6th extinction herself so she did a metaphorical coin flip. Whichever champion of hers won, despair or hope, she'd go with them. She was fighting against her desire as an EE to kill all life and her desire as a human, a sister, and a mother to protect it. It was too much for her.

but Sam did the opposite, by carrying deliveries, he connects people, make them reunite again

@@petrovadrian no, he’s right. Compasses in the Military do end up getting screwed up when near metal. Before the switch to Kevlar helmets, it was standard practice to remove your helmet and be mindful of the metal in your plated armor (since it used to be steel) so as not to screw with the measurements. Still actually taught in basic training so trainees will take off their helmets when doing the cheek method (placing the compass on your cheek to use the sighted glass for accurate measurements).
Granted it wouldn’t spin as a crazy as that, but still a nice bit of detail.

The most disappointing part of this game is how little of Mads Mikkelsen we saw
He gots an hour cutscene for the ending tho... this video didn’t show that part cuz that one is pure spoiler
almost every cutscene with mads put together is almost 2 hours
I don’t understand what you’re disappointed about. We get to fight him three times in total; he gets cutscenes often when you hook up to BB-28; and the final cutscenes are mostly dedicated to him. He got so much screen time and attention, more than Higgs if I’m honest it seems.
But every moment was so special

Cliff has the most chilling music theme ever. When the music starts to subtly change and hits you with this uneasiness, you know who's coming..
The way the soldiers uniforms go from WW1, to WW2, to Vietnam, and finally to the Delta Force Operators during the Global War on Terror. I always get chills
That not a Delta uniform lmao. That’s literally just standard Army Infantry minus the lack of shitty ACU pattern camo from that era with some rifle attachments you normally don’t see in standard infantry units (so likely SOF, but those NVGs are cheap shit compared to the ones used by SOF now). Delta rarely ever wear such uniforms and their kits are highly personalized since they are granted even more freedom with their equipment than even SOF. In fact you’d be hard pressed to even find legitimate photos of Delta operators in combat gear due to how insanely classified everything about them is. Was Army Infantry, trained with SOF, and knew guys who had connections with Delta

8:00 is really good to show people first, because the darkness hides their faces and you really can’t make out if they are skeletons. Even the guy next to him looks like it could still be a normal face.

Honestly, the twist that Cliff was Sam’ father and that he was trying to reconnect with him, I figured it out in the second fight. It was still a well done twist.
Best character easily. Wish we would see more of him.

malcolm saxton sooooooooo Cliff (Mads) is an undead revenant fueled by regret that we was unable to save his B.B. before his death and through that he commands a unit of undead soldiers to help him find said B.B. at the end of the game it’s revealed that the B.B. died along with him when Bridget and John shot him but Amelie on the beach brought the B.B. back to life and it grew up to be Sam Porter Bridges.

It's so cool to see how the skeleton soldiers actually move and do actions soldiers would do in certain environments.
This was a strange game I remember uninstalling it two times but when I came back for the third try for some reason I couldn’t stop playing it. I enjoyed the hell out of the story

A game with this art style about all Veterans, from all wars, trying to find closure in the afterlife while encountering other veterans as they both share their similar experiences sounds interesting asf and something Kojima would make
Damn, there are really some things in these that you don't notice connect to other parts of the story at first. Like Mads having the same healed umbilical cord thing as Sam got from Amelie when he washed up on her beach as a baby showing up in the first cutscene here, and then in the last scene the gunshot at the end of it was Mads getting shot when he was holding Sam in the hospital. Hits a lot different after beating the game.

@@sauceboss9443 when the Commonwealth citizens say Lest We Forget, its a reminder of the horrors of countless artillery, dug in machine guns, and the smell of the unburied dead in no man's land. The CQB back then was a pistol and shovel or whatever was on hand, as bayonets weren't good enough. True horror.

When I played this game and Sam started to whistle the song back, my heart stopped. I was like....wait a damn minute.....

Something i just noticed watching this through again is Lou at 10:50 giggles at the tune and _turns to point at Sam_ like "hey, i know that one, i got it from you!" It's a moment that might pass you by but makes SO MUCH SENSE when you spot it, I've beaten this game so many times already and I'm just picking up on this. Layers on layers.

The presense of Mads in this game as Cliff is so strong it became my all time fav character it's mind blowing .I never get tired of watching him it's haunting me . Perfection. Does anyone saw in the second cinematic in the sewers he had far in his eyes and next scene after the baby doll open eyes Cliff's face is clean. Is that mistake or on purpose?
I believe its on purpose. Maybe the doll wakes his "real persona" up.
The doll let’s him know that his bb has entered his beach a lot of people think cliff is in hell but he isn’t, this is cliffs beach made up from his memories of all the wars he thought in the baby opens it’s eye and cliffs smiles because he knows that sam (bb) is on his beach again and that he has another chance to find him.
@@wrathofthegods4739 the doll baby's are Higg's and Cliff's connection to Amelie because she was giving Higgs the High Level DOOMS powers like summoning BTs and Teleportation while in Cliff's Case he directing him to BB and Sam using the Doll. Two sides to manipulate Sam into her Beach

All these scenes were so friggin intense, which only makes it sadder that he dosen't appear more in the game as an undead commander. Mads can already play a scary villain very well, so this feels like a mixed opportunity.
Give me back my baby. I loved his character in this. Creepy, but you also got to understand him the longer it went on

Anybody else gonna point out the fact that, after Sam finishes Cliff's whistling tune, Lou nods in affirmation to Cliff? It's like she's saying to Cliff "yes, it's him, that's your BB, and he's all grown up now". A very heartwarming moment in this otherwise sad reunion; it's truly a shame that Cliff never really got to meet his own son, but at least he can rest easy knowing that Bridget raised a good man. I think she felt guilt for killing them both.

I always kept thinking why would Cliff go to hell, as in what did he do to get there. But if you watch the cutscene where he tries to escape the lab then you realise why he went to hell.
0:36 Now that's how to reveal a secondary antagonist. In my opinion, Cliff Unger was a better character than Higgs. Kojima's direction in these past war sections is breathtaking. A visual masterpiece. I'm replaying this game again like I do every year. Amazing experience. Looking forward to DS2.

The guy is pretty resourceful for someone paired with only a skeleton-crew.
I enjoy the uniqueness of combat mixed with the supernatural during these battles. He still get the intense feeling of combat with that side dish of fear that you get from a horror film

Cliff is a veteran, and after his death he is so full of regret and misery that he quite literally goes down into hell and commands an army of dead soldiers to return from hell to locate his baby. That’s literally it.

it's amazing how something as simple as the character taking a second to drag on a cigarette , can get across an entire range of emotions and fits so many situations.
I’m glad this game and a few other titles have opened the door for actors to start appearing in videos games as opposed to movies and tv. Giving them a wider range to express their talent
The games uses U.S soldiers throughout time in almost every major conflict very great detail in the game

- The red BTs which we sometimes encounter are the soldiers from Clifford’s beach.
Hey again, I'm just checking in to see if things are alright with you and the Death Stranding videos. It seems like it might be safe to upload endings now since I've seen a couple pop up a day ago and haven't been taken down yet. My guess is that by the end of the weekend or next week at the latest it'll be safe to upload everything. I'd be shocked if there isn't a flood of ending videos that will pop up before the 15th of November since that's when that Jedi game comes out. XD

I don't have any idea of death stranding, but holy shit this one of the coolest characters I have seen in my entire life.
