Good to know! I just placed an Every Plate order recently (still waiting for the package) and I noticed a lot of rice and potatoes in their menu plan. I’ll have to try Blue Apron next!

My husband and I decided to try Blue Apron. Our order is supposed to be here today and I’m super excited! I feel like I’ve just been cycling through the same meals all the time and I also struggle with cooking healthy foods. We are southern and I tend to make a lot of comfort foods. Even if we don’t keep the service for long term, I am hoping this will help me get into the swing of cooking more intricate recipes with a variety of fresh vegetables. Thanks for this review!

Thank you for your wonderful, precise, and honest review! I agree with everything you said, and I've tried several different meal kit brands. One thing I'll add as a negative - unless things have recently changed, Blue Apron throws all the ingredients into the box haphazardly, with no organization, so you have to take the time to go over each recipe and separate the ingredients for each one. Other services, like Home Chef for example, separate the ingredients into separate bags for you, so you just have to take the bags and put them into the fridge. Believe it or not, this was a big factor in me cancelling my service, but I may give it another shot because we really liked the recipes (except for the huge stack of pots, pans, dishes, and bowls at the end). Peggy Brendel Thanks for watching! I totally agree with that negative! I didn’t realize it until I tried other services, but it is a pain to sort through everything in the box. Especially recently they changed the recipe cards where they don’t differentiate between what is in the recipe bag and what is loose, so it’s even more effort to find what you need.

I like the fact that their meals are better quality and may take a little longer to make, this is why I prefer them over other meal kits that give you cheap/quick meals. I love collecting these cards and having a more sophisticated meal rather than having a bunch of cards of low quality meals. Definitely more intricate meals is a plus in my book.

What is your opinion between hello fresh and blue apron? I would like an updated review on that. Comparing meals, sizing, and ingredient freshness. We normally use HelloFresh. Considering trying Blue Apron.

Have tried the 1-pan Beef&Udon Noodle stir fry? My Mom orders B.Apron, I wanted to try, she gave me the Beef&Udon. I was so excited. It was terrible, smelled like Chinese food dishwater! That one meal had put me off ordering. Do you like Hello Fresh?
Chuck Young hi! I haven’t tried that one, I’ve done mostly the vegetarian meals. That’s too bad you didn’t like it though! I haven’t tried hello fresh yet, but I would like to give it a try.

Kristi hey! I bought a 12 inch in the regular hidden crown that I’m wearing in this video. It’s also #8. I bought the new set November 23, so my videos after that point have the hidden crown, and prior videos have the daydream (or nothing occasionally). I’ll probably alternate going forward. Most of the recipes have you add salt yourself, so you could adjust it to what you want. (Or control how much of whatever sauces they give you)
Could you lose weight with Blue Apron?
Probably! Some of the recipes are lower calorie than others though, so you would probably just want to look out for that when selecting meals

the only problem i have is im single...
Like the grocery story, but 3-4X as EXPENSIVE, WASTEFUL & RESTRICTIVE. Tried Blue Apron for 4 weeks. Forgettable recipes, old and missing ingredients, delayed shipments, and a truly sickening amount of packaging (each ingredient, be it a lemon or 1/2 tsp of vinegar, comes inside 4 levels of non-recyclable plastic packaging) made me cancel after 3 weeks, and then they had me pay for another week because hey, why not squeeze as much as you can out of your already dissatisfied customers. The ingredients require unpackaging, washing, cutting, mixing, processing and full clean-up afterwards, so it ends up taking 1 hr + for any meal. Nothing is organic or particularly high quality. More expensive than restaurant food, half as flavorful, not particularly healthy. I truly hope they go out of business soon. What a moral disaster of a company.

True! It’s a mutual discount if you sign up (just like I have with all of my food delivery service review videos) which helps me pay for my time to make these videos. But if you don’t trust my opinion and pros and cons, no worries at all 😉. I’m sure there are lots of other reviews you can consult as well.
