We go to Vietnam at least once every year and we came to Phu Quoc in 2023 on our only visit there. We stayed at the Crown Plaza near Grand World and loved the beach and pool at the hotel. Grand World felt like a ghost town and we found the restaurants and services there to be very expensive compared to the rest of Vietnam. This is the main point that people need to understand about Phu Quoc and that it is still largely rural! So it's best not to compare Phu Quoc with other places.
Hi guys, shame that your plan didn't go as planned. But please keep in mind next time, do your homework before setting off. This time of the year is normally stormy & just towards the end of the rain season, so it's hit & miss. I agree Ong Lang beach is probably the best option for this time of the year but the hotels that have direct access to the beach might be more expensive. I would pay extra to have a bit of that luxury. I also agree that Phu Quoc is over built. The area you visited and the Sunset town in the south called Mediterranean are mainly for the local tourists who can't afford to go abroad. I would avoid those areas. I would suggest hiring a local tour guide taking you to the local authentic spots like national park or fishing villages. I'm going to Phu Quoc in December. Fingers crossed the weather will improve

The Grand World and the Sunset Town, the latter intended to be a copy of the Amalfi towns, are the typical areas meant for tourists. They look deserted this time of year, and I wonder how lively the areas are in the summer season. @@andyhuynh6237 Tesla is not a car company, it’s a technology company. Elon admitted that making car is the most difficult production in itself. And it has too many moving parts and a mountain of safety regulations, it is a loosing strategy for Company and if it’s not a legacy auto maker like ford, Toyota, m- Benz or Volkswagen.
your lucky..Vietjet is always late ....always!!!!!
Hahaha
So sad. A good waste collection and treatment system + efficient local regulations to protect the environment are only what tourists need
Agreed!
It is way overbuilt and overpriced for a ghost town.
Sad to see but you might be right
They really screwed up this island by building copies of Italian villages as tourist attraction. We won't come back here, sorry
We feel similar, we'd come back to explore the other areas of it though
Too expensive, even native Vietnamese can’t afford it! As for tourists that came to visit PQ and saw fake Europe! 😅😂
😄 too expensive for us too !
@@JordanandEmily been to PQ 3 times and its boring as fck. each its own but not for me and my family. they have basically destroyed a lot of the natural beauty of this island for the dollars. best bang for the bucks is Thailand in the SEA in my opinion. i am Vietnamese and not afraid to see the truth. Vietnam tourist industry is a shit hole at the moment.
@fishbait007 went twice and hated it but still went back a third time? 😄 we loved our time I'm Vietnam
you're traveling to Vietnam at the worst time, Lol. Multiple different typhoons and storms have hit Vietnam and many other nearby ASEAN countries since December 2024 so if the city/province you're staying at in Vietnam isn't flooded, then you will be experiencing downpours & endless rain
Hahaha yeah we didn't time it very well this year! 😅
It’s rainy season
It was/is 😄 honestly vietnam seems unpredictable
Phu quoc is actually Cambodia land that was stolen by Vietnam.
Vietnam saved Cambodia from genocide 1970s. Now they are spreading misinformation online claiming Vietnam land and Thailand culture.
Oh wow
This is Cambodia island Koh trol
That’s what they call it but it was never Cambodia land ever
I'm confused haha
I would better visit Universal studios
That does sound fun!
Very sick n suck of upside down vacation tourist places in phu quoc. Vietnam . Extremely Lousy nonsense investment from money greedy investors with , no experiences of basic investment = fatal failure + bankrupt !🤣🤢🥶😂
It was an unusual move 😄 at least the rest of the country is still such an attraction, one of the best places to travel we think 😊
You shld hv do some research before going
Spot on!
I hv seen vlogs which showed some beaches that are heavily polluted with plastics. So sad.
@@keangwooichoo6138 super sad 😞
I tell u the truth about this Island this Island before was part of Cambodia Cambodia called this Island កោះត្រល់. But after 1990 until now Vietnam has took over this Island Im so sad when i see this Island becomes part of Vietnam
Woah, we didn't know that at all!
@ hope u come and visit Cambodia my country again
@@JordanandEmily Yeah, that's the truth. not only PHU QUOC, some part of Vietnam is Cambodia. but it's just the past We don't want to war for our land back. We just hope Vietnam doesn't try to destroy us again and again. Cambodia just wants peace; we have enough fights.
If you have evidence, please file a lawsuit to reclaim the island at the United Nations like our country reclaimed the Hoang Sa island occupied by China after 1975, no one believes what Pol Pot (the person who massacred the Cambodian people) said.
@@SoungEO Vietnam help Cambodia escape genocide, and now Cambodia have forgotten that. You are just a province of China and have no international voice. It's sad for the Cambodia people
