I have to be constantly reminded that it is called Nickelodeon Universe now and not Camp Snoopy. And when I call it Camp Snoopy everyone from Minnesota knows what I'm talking about lol
Couple of thoughts on this park. Pepsi Orange Streak is one of the most absurd coaster names in the world. The ride collection is pretty good for an indoor park. To me, it's not worth a visit on its own. But the MOA is worth a visit so the trip is justified. The aquarium under Nickelodeon Universe is surprisingly good, especially for being in the basement. And the shops can be pretty fun. You could spend 2-3 hours at the park but you could spend all day if you include the other attractions. The Log Ride is one of the best. It's kind of weird that an indoor log flume has a great view but it really does.
The ride ops usually have stickers to attach the ends of the wristbands, you might just have to ask them to do it since not everyone wants to have the band attached to them if they want to share. Also the reason they were able to fit fairly odd coaster into the park was because they layout was designed for the park, and then was cloned for other parks.
the very first episode of WCW Monday Nitro premiered here with a great match between Sting and Rick Flair+the appearance of Lex Luger kicking off the infamous "Monday Night War"
I've been coming to this park since it was Knott's Camp Snoopy. Before Valleyfair added some new additions in the 2010s, I actually liked this park more and it's easily my favorite indoor park to this day after 20 plus years. It's too bad that you didn't take some time to try their other rides because you would've loved the Log Chute and Ghostblasters.
@@AirtimeThrills It's definitely worth spending a day and treating the park as a part of the overall attraction that is the mall. Having the wristband and intermittently riding rides in between doing everything else in the mall makes the value feel even better instead of having to do all the rides in one swoop. Also makes re-rides feel more special too when they are broken up by a trip to the aquarium for example. Also above all you have to ride the log flume next time. It's the best traditional log flume in the world.
Using this video as some entertainment during my wisdom teeth extraction recovery frame. Thanks for keeping us entertained with your awesome content! Edit: You got to ride all the coasters here, unlike a certain park with a similar name in New Jersey...
Seeing as you're a baseball fan, I'm surprised you didn't mention the "Home Run Chair" from the old stadium that sits on the wall next to the log flume. IIRC, the chair marks the approximate location of a home run that Harmon Killebrew scored for the Twins back in the day.
I was there this past weekend and it was fairly packed, and there were some people that had their wristbands on their wrists but there was still no sticky stuff on ours. They say on the back that the ride op at your first ride will put the wristband on you but I guess you have to ask for it because we went on 4 rides without anyone putting it on us. After the 4th ride we were feeling nauseous so we went and walked around some, and either on the 4th ride or sometime later I lost mine. I didn't have a great time there, as you might be able to infer.
I grew up a 30 minute drive from the mall, so Camp Snoopy was my original, tiny child theme park. Pepsi Ripsaw was my first roller coaster ever, and I have to say it's an amazing introduction for a child who's initially very afraid of roller coasters. Its' slow speed and smooth, scenic run is amazing. I definitely miss the old theming, but I'm glad that the rides are still holding up after all this time!! the only one I've ridden since re-theming is the log chute because it rethemed when I was a middle schooler and I was stubborn xD
I used to live in Minnesota and keep wanting to go back on trips even just walking around the mall of America, it does have a great atmosphere, i wish it wasnt so much money to go out there, because driving from utah is a pain. Oh well i guess if i absolutely feel the need to ride a coaster we have lagoon here
Loved this park back in the Camp Snoopy days. Haven't been able to go back since the name change, as I moved to a different part of the country quite awhile ago. My favorite ride back in the day was the virtual roller coaster set-up they had in a separate room. I mean, yeah it was just a bunch of tilting chairs and blowers set-up in front of an iMax, but it was pretty convincing back in the day. I haven't heard anything about that in the longest time though, so I suspect it isn't there anymore. And yeah, the Ripsaw wasn't intense, but it was a fun coaster, especially for first timers. I wasn't nearly as accustomed with roller coasters at the time, so I was far more comfortable riding that than the Wild Thing at Valley Fair.
I was definitely surprised by this park! We both have the same rankings on the rides and the same thoughts! I actually loved SpongeBob, it shocked me for sure
You really missed out on the flat rides. TMNT shellshock is a one of a kind in America and is extremely fun if you know what you are doing. There’s also the log chute which is one of the best log flumes in the whole country

You've inspired me to visit this park next time I'm in Minnesota. Didn't make it a priority on my 2016 trip, even though I visited Valleyfair. Looks like a fun time, their log flume does look excellent.
Had a ACE meetup there a week ago. For the space they have to work with they really did a great job with it. It's a good place to itch that coaster scratch over the winter. I did several rides on Spongebob, and I think some trains are rough and some others are smooth.
As a Minnesotan who has been to MoA (and Nickelodeon Universe) many times, there's a bit more to it than just the indoor theme park. The mall itself is worth spending a few hours exploring, its 3 levels high and has tons of shops, 2 full food courts, many full restaurants, an aquarium, and even a cinema. The reason you were able to walk into the mall and straight into the park is because the mall is build in a circle around the park, so pretty much any entrance is close to the park. The park itself might not be great for adults, but that's not really what its for. The cartoon theming and somewhat gentler rides makes it ideal for children. It help keeps them occupied while adults can do some shopping.
One thing to note is literally anywhere you park will be close to the park. It’s right in the center of the mall so literally anywhere you are at you can see and view the park. Especially fun to look over the park while at the food court.
Back when my in-laws lived in St. Paul, I made frequent trips to MN (and thus, the MoA). I loved the flatride collection; particuarly, "Mighty Axe" (which no longer is there) and "Hexendantz" (which I think is still there, but Nick-themed). Haven't been there in years. I'm close enough to make it to AD in NJ, but I haven't had the burning desire to do so.
I’m going on a road trip in April/May, and might be through Minneapolis, will have to stop in to here and valley fair. I’m also going to worlds of fun, my old home park, and silver dollar city. I used to ride Pepsi RipSaw 25 years ago. Shout out if you used to ride the Mystery Mine Ride... That theatre with moving seats simulator, that was my favorite ride. I also remember the Log Flume had a tragic accident as a boy fell out since it didn't have any restraints, just poles to hold on too.

As many have noted, the Log Flume is can't miss (when it's open). It and Pepsi Orange Streak are good examples of the impact that Knott's had on the park. As noted, Pepsi Orange Streak is *very* similar to Jaguar! and I would be very unsurprised if the Knott family made some sort of package deal when ordering them. The Log Flume feels like the spiritual brother to Timber Mountain Log Ride, with some very similar logger animatronics and just the vibe of a Flume that's about more than hills and splashes. Basically, there's a lot about old Knott's Camp Snoopy at MOA that feels like Knott's Berry Farm of the 80s-90s and you can even see hints of that today even after the drastic changes that were made. I think that also contributes to why the park is more pleasant than its NJ cousin. If you look at those views into the park, you'll see a lot of greenery, much of which was planted when they were giving it this outdoors camp theme.
Other note: I saw someone else mention it on here, but Timberland Twister predated Spinning Dragons AND all of the Pandemoniums. My understanding is that it was designed to fit into this park rather than fitting a generic clone into this space.
Haven't been to either of them, but this park looks leagues ahead of AD mall's park. It looks very pretty, and those flats look good too, and I heard great things about the flume
I went there about 15 years ago, it was a summer day while I was on a trip visiting family in the area and I can recall the lines where much more then those 20 minutes you where lucky enough to get.
I know I’m super late, but as far as the wristbands go, ride ops are supposed to use a sticker to put your wristband on at the first ride you go on, and I’ve never had them not do it. However, might be some sort of covid restriction they had in 2021.
Being that this is one of my home parks, the fact that it is entirely indoors has never amused me. The park is really nice, and feels a lot bigger once you are inside since it is entirely indoors. I always thought Rock Bottom Plunge was like 100 ish feet tall until I checked RCDB, and was shocked when I saw its actual height, to say the least. @@AirtimeThrills Occasionally they can attach it if you get it inside one of the Toy stores in the theme park. Otherwise, when they go to scan the wristband they usually will attach it there. Keep up the great work! You are one of my favorite coaster channels!
I think they have advantages and Disadvantages that even each other out, but I think the mall of America is just a tiny bit better just simply because of the atmosphere of the park. It’s outdoorsy feel and just a sense of imagination, and sometimes I forget that even in a mall. And even though New Jersey might have better coasters, it kinda feels like a theme park just got slapped in the middle of a warehouse, outside of a few windows on the ceiling, and let me emphasize that, A FEW!
When I used to go there in the early 2010's they used to have a sticker that they would attach to the wrist band. When I went there is 2020 they werent doing that.
Hmmm .... well Adventuredome (Canyon Blaster) and Shellraiser (American Dream) have proved you can have looping coasters indoors. I for one would like to see an indoor wooden coaster; a twister layout (like Twister at Knoebel's) or a compact double out & back (like Phoenix at Knoebel's) could work provided you have enough space and creativity. That said, I don't think we'll see any indoor hypercoasters!

I went here as a kid. I was a scared child who wanted nothing to do with rock bottom plunge or airbender, so I'll have to get back out to this park some day.
Next time hit the log ride, I know it’s not a coaster, but it’s got two good drops for not having any safety restraints, plus if you get wet it’s barely anything, your phone or whatever is perfectly fine
Still not sure I can accept those Intamin halfpipes as rollercoasters. They're basically wonky Zamperla Disk'Os, and those are pretty unambiguously flat rides.
I moved here from the east coast where my home park was Coney Island and Great Adventure was so close to me and Hershey was 3 hours away and Dorney was 2.5 hours away. I mean yes SpongeBob SquarePants is great and Valley fair is close with some other coasters but compared to my line up on the east coast I think I took a lose on the coaster line! But I do get bad vertigo now! So I can’t ride the coasters like I used to!
I think the park at American Dream changed it's policy because when I was there a few weeks ago we were able to buy tickets instead of an all day pass.
The log flume is far and a way the best ride in the park. It feels like an outdoor log flume but indoors. Also riding the log flume you pass right by the seat that got hit on the longest home run in twins history. But it might have been closed because both of my last visits it was closed so that may be why you didn’t ride it.
If the longest coaster is 2,680 ft and a B&M Invert batman clone is 2,700 ft. That means every coaster in the park is shorter than a Batman clone. Not complaining, just seems kinda weird nobody talks about how short these things are.
It seems like a fun park, just nowhere near the top of my list for places I have to visit. I'm surprised that neither one of these parks has an S&S El Loco. Seems like the perfect coaster for an indoor park. Just like at Adventure Dome.
I agree that this is the best overall indoor park for its atmosphere and pricing, but I prefer American dream's coaster lineup. I'd still rather go here because of the lively atmosphere and cheap pricing

Next time hit the log ride, I know it’s not a coaster, but it’s got two good drops for not having any safety restraints, plus if you get wet it’s barely anything, your phone or whatever is perfectly fine
Was there in 08 in November everything was a ride on and the fairly odd parents I got 10 times to myself nausium is an understatement
The Sponge bob ride felt like a many Maverick
6:49 that attendant right there saw me do Spongebob like 20 times in about 2 hours earlier in 2021 lol he is youtube famous now
Awesome video
Still not sure I can accept those Intamin halfpipes as rollercoasters. They're basically wonky Zamperla Disk'Os, and those are pretty unambiguously flat rides.
Right? Hard to justify
Log chute is the second best ride their
Did you see my updated comment about the T-shirts? I had unknowingly clicked on the kids shirts & they only go to XL. I ordered 2 shirts today.
I agree with most of this but I think it also has a few great flat rides which are worth a ride
And I agree with Fairy Oddparents I got so dizzy from that!
Do they still have the Paul Bunyan log flume? I loved that in the old version of the park
They do but it isn't themed to Paul Bunyan anymore
I’m sorry you missed the log chute.
I see Mall of America (or anything from Minnesota) I upvote
I think the park at American Dream changed it's policy because when I was there a few weeks ago we were able to buy tickets instead of an all day pass.
Yep they did change it i think in 2022
What’s happening with Montezooma’s revenge?
iirc they used to use functional wristbands
What park is that at 1:20?
I weirdly really like spongebobs rock bottom plunge. The rest of the park is great too
The log flume is far and a way the best ride in the park. It feels like an outdoor log flume but indoors. Also riding the log flume you pass right by the seat that got hit on the longest home run in twins history. But it might have been closed because both of my last visits it was closed so that may be why you didn’t ride it.
I think it was open but we were in a time crunch. Will ride it next time i go though which may be this year
If the longest coaster is 2,680 ft and a B&M Invert batman clone is 2,700 ft. That means every coaster in the park is shorter than a Batman clone. Not complaining, just seems kinda weird nobody talks about how short these things are.
Alot better then new jersey
I was just watching a video of how bad the American Dream is doing financially. Here is some good news of the other park.
It seems like a fun park, just nowhere near the top of my list for places I have to visit. I'm surprised that neither one of these parks has an S&S El Loco. Seems like the perfect coaster for an indoor park. Just like at Adventure Dome.
Did you use the Monday Nitro photo without showing the ring?
is it safe go even go there with kids?
Are you gonna ride Gwazi soon? I want to know your opinion
I'm going to florida but waiting for guardians, maybe tron, arieforce and pantheon
I rode ripsaw and there was only 1 other kid on the train. He asked if he could sit with me because his dad was too fat to fit in the seat.
My mom was there when it was camp snoopy
0:54 OMG HE LIED AGAIN!!!
You gotta got back just to ride one of the best log flumes in the usa
I agree that this is the best overall indoor park for its atmosphere and pricing, but I prefer American dream's coaster lineup. I'd still rather go here because of the lively atmosphere and cheap pricing
I wonder what is going to happen when the mall goes bankrupt. Retail is dead in the age of instant shipping.
Not sure if that would happen to this mall, but yeah i hear you on that
@@AirtimeThrills ALL the malls are dying. All the anchor tenants are going bankrupt. Online same day delivery is killing a lot of retail and technology is killing the rest. Over 3 million dollars worth of goods and services that we used to go to the mall for are now redundant in our societies because of that simple phrase, "There's an app for that"
@@davefroman4700 MoA is not gonna die. It's a tourist attraction first, mall second. Plus it seems like the indoor malls have been somewhat more successful here in MN where it's freezing half the year. A decent number of our regular malls are still open (rosedale, southdale, ridgedale, etc).
Don’t pass up the log chute next time you come here. It’s one of the best in the country!
So why did you pay more for points than getting the all you can ride option.... this makes no sense.
That was for 2 people
But Chris, you SURELY meant to say Nickelodeon universe at American dream is the best indoor park in the US right?
Nickelodeon universe at American Dream is generally worse
Better rides =/= better experience
@@hexagonl7398 lol Ik I was being sarcastic, especially since both his experiences were meh to terrible
Don’t care jersey is better. Also six flags great America is removing American eagle for good
Jersey has the better ride line up, but Minnesota has much better pricing imo
You’re completely wrong American dream in New Jersey’s way better
If they had everything open..or even half the stuff open I may agree
