    I thought you did this one already as well. I watched the first one I thought. The tear down and rebuild. Again is good for me. Keep up the good work

    Great video I've watched it twice. Maybe you can answer a question that I can't find an answer to? I have 4T65E that slips/shudders when taking off from a stop when the car is in the overdrive shift select position. If I shift the gear selector to L, I can take off as hard as I want and it seems perfectly fine. No codes, any idea why?

      Most likely the forward band is starting to break. Very common for it to break.

    My friend please help me. 2009 Impala 3.5 V6. I messed up the bearing for the CV axle when removing the seal. Do you know if this bearing is pressed in from the backside? Will I need to disassemble the trans to replace?

      You may be able to replace it in the vehicle. It comes out either direction.

      @CurmudgeonTransmission thank you. Can tricks to removing it with that output shaft in the way? Also for install will freezing the bearing assist in placing it in there?

    I’ve watched all of your videos regarding the 4t65e, very informative.
    I have a 2004 impala 3.4, could I swap the standard 4t65e for the 4t65ehd?

      Thanks. You can if it is the same ratio. The tag on the transmission is where that information is. You can use the planets in the unit you already have. You can use the differential parts if they are the same tooth counts. The ratio is determined by the tooth counts of the chain sprockets and the differential parts.

      Thank you very much, it’s sounds better to rebuild my unit with stronger parts.
      My engine is not modified in anyway, I just want it to be more reliable than stock.

      They are not cheap. I would check with Slauson's or Bishop's for them. Links are in the description of the later video's.

    I just trying to figure out if the male end on the transmission that the driver side cv axle goes onto should be able to wiggle by hand? Mine does. Have some grinding noises when turning sometimes..trying to figure it out

    i have an 06 impala SS 5.3 with a stage 1 upgraded transmission, i know these transmissions stock are terrible on the 5.3 so i got the upgrade, after 45k miles i was driving down the interstate at about 70, switched to fast lane and gave it some gas, as soon as i gave it gas i heard a loud clunk and i lost all gears and started hearing a loud whine, people were telling me same kinda thing happend to them and it was the chain. any thoughts?

      Could be. Also could be the pump or torque converter.

    I pulled a 4T65E out of a 5.3 Chevy Impala. Do you think it's possible for it to go in a 3.5? Same Gen, too

    • @CurmudgeonTransmission
      @CurmudgeonTransmission  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Ratio's will be different. There is a tag on the side of the case by the passenger axle seal. That tag will have a number and 3 letters. That code lets you know what ratio it is.

    The error is an incorrect transmission coefficient of 4, because of which there may be an error, I removed the automatic transmission many times, changed the gaskets, elastic band, frictions, and still the same error, maybe it's a hydroblock???

    • @CurmudgeonTransmission
      @CurmudgeonTransmission  ปีที่แล้ว

      Probably stripped splines on the 4th gear shaft. Where it splines into the sprag.

      @@CurmudgeonTransmission Could you show me a picture??? I disassembled the automatic transmission box again, there are small bulliers in the hydroblock, there is free movement of discs in the gearbox unit 3, the video shows that you added one disc, I'm thinking of adding it to return home, the discs in the drum of the second gear burned out. And also 4 turned black. The shaft closer to the hydroblock is not damaged. But maybe I looked at the wrong thing.

      @@CurmudgeonTransmission During the trip, you can hear how the first and second and third work, as soon as it switches to the fourth, the fourth immediately turns off. The solenoids are new.

    • @CurmudgeonTransmission
      @CurmudgeonTransmission  ปีที่แล้ว

      I do not have a picture of a stripped shaft. The extra plate I add has the lining removed from an old clutch. I would check the shift solenoids, since you burned both 2nd and 4th.

      @@CurmudgeonTransmission I connected 2, 3 and 4 drums together and applied air to 2 drums. in the middle, where there is friction, air passes through. I think the air is also coming out of the 3rd gear drum, I'll change the gaskets again. 4 the drum works well when air is supplied. I bought new solenoids, their operation can be heard when the voltage is applied.
