    You mention using USB-C to take calls but Rode says that calls on an iPhone aren't possible over USB-C due to iOS limitations ("Due to iOS limitations, native phone calls cannot be made on an iPhone or iPad via USB"). Has a firmware update potentially made this possible? Can an iPhone be used for calls with a TRRS cable via one of the 1/4" inputs?

    All questions about my problem answered in this video about phone audio in and out thumbs up for that great tutorial experience. Now i do have a question. Does the bluetooth on Rodecaster Pro 2 connect to bluetooth headphones like airpods pro 2 for example ?

      No, I have tried using Rode recommended cables and I cannot communicate with my guest. Rode stated this is an Apple limitation in iOS. This without TRRS, the RCP2 does not have a native direct connect low latency live call option. Bluetooth latency for live calls is horridly unacceptable.

    The caller I am speaking to is getting a full volume repeat of everything she says on here end - whether using AirPods, Speaker, etc. She hears me fine from the RC pro 2 and I get a clean recording signal from her. But she get's a full volume echo of everything SHE says - not me (the host). She hears me fine. Anyone have any idea what's going on on her end to cause this?

    Greetings James,
    You mentioned iPhone…
    You’re saying someone can use RODE’s USB-C to Lighting cable or USB-C to USB-C cable between their iPhone and the RCP II to make/receive a ‘phone’ call, is that right? Note: I have the RCP II and all those cables from RODE.
    Did you actually try what you’re claiming with any iPhone? Have you ever seen this work between an iThing and the RCP II-anywhere? If so, please reference the link.
    A Discord call-in? Have you tried connecting a call with, say, Discord with an iPhone or iPad using a cable?
    Have you read RODE’s online USER GUIDE, including Connecting Callers and Online Guests > Connecting iOS devices?
    SPOILER ALERT
    RODE’s ONLINE USER GUIDE (which nobody seems to have read) explains there are iOS limitations. This was confirmed when I called to RODE and they told me my RCP II would never connect via various services-including ‘native’ phone calls. The only solution, James, is connecting a caller via Bluetooth. And because of these USB limitations, many creators will be limited to a single caller.

    • @jeffsumeracki7263
      @jeffsumeracki7263 ปีที่แล้ว

      Has anyone figured out how to do this? I need the ability to add a live caller into a 4-person mix on my RCP2. I have tried Bluetooth, but the latency makes the caller seem like they are on the Moon! Unacceptable. I need direct connect speed (lack of latency) and have tried the USB-C to Lightning adapter and validated that live calls are not possible.
      I have heard this is a limitation on the Apple side having to do with digital access to the microphone. Maybe there is an APP that overrides this? Otherwise, has anyone else validated USB-C connection live conversations with any Android device?

    First the roadcaster pro one is better, it got 38 screws, the Roadmaster pro one is metal and II is plastic. See the cable doesn’t have protection and the mics plug doesn’t have the metal protection, the two is a toy. Don’t buy the rodecaster II, get the one.
