What are the pro's of duckstation over epsxe? for the past decade or more I've always used psxfin for 2d games and epsxe for 3d games, never tried duckstation.
@@chanonwisanmongkol2254wrong answer. Duckstation is the best PS1 emu by a long shot. And what do you mean by D-axis control? Everything is mappable, including the button to change from analog to digital on the Dualshock.
@@eapleitez Yes, it can mapping but it doesn't work when playing. I see a lot of people complain about it(me too) for a while. Many thanks for the list. I'm not new to emulation, but have been out of the game for a while. Was hoping to get PS1 set up, mostly for the old RPG classics, FF, Chrono Cross, Parasite Eve, maybe some RE, things like that. One thing I'm REALLY interested in is being able to increase the emulation speed (either with a button, or toggle mapped to the keyboard/controller), to play through some of those games without it taking an egregious amount of time. Any thoughts on ones that can do this well? Thanks!
Duck station, being open source, gives new possibilities. There is a duckstation fork, that includes online multiplay, syncing the 2 instances. This is beyond cool. ePSXe, although I love it, is closed source, and unless the developers decide to, I am not getting online multiplayer there.

Retroarch's Beetle-PSX core is Retroarch's port of Mednafen's PlayStation emulation. You need a GUI to work with Mednafen though as it's command line only. Also, I think Retroarch's Beetle core provides for some features that Mednafen itself doesn't, but Mednafen does emulate other consoles as well as the PSX.
Hell no, Duckstation in 2nd place behind EPSXE? That's terrible advice. EPSXE is terribly outdated at this point, and doesn't hold a candle to Duckstation. These days, for PS1 emulation, Duckstation is the correct choice.
