Old school sampling trick to make the most of your sample memory is to pitch your sample up by 50% or an octave, so it plays back at a higher pitch. Resample it at that speed. Short samples means less memory. Then you can pitch it back down when you use it in your sampler tracks. If you go to extremes with it, you can really add some flavor to the sound depending on the sampler and its pitch shifting. I haven't tried it on my machine but I would imagine it could be pretty great with the 12 bit and everything. Cheers!
Thanks for the hint and - correct, I could have that in mind when putting it on the MD. I consider this for some future sampling videos I have in mind :-)
Hey mate, if you want to transpose all chops of your break without doing each one individually, just right click transpose in the controls window and hit "copy to siblings" !
MD sounds so good doing breaks. Wish it were more made for it. Of course you can use Octatrack for slices.. but the slightly lower-fi quality of the MD sounds great.
Trig + yes in grid record mode let’s you preview the trig with the param locks. Much easier to get your start point dialed in. There’s a bug in x.04 that keeps the previewed parameter locks playing until a new p locked trig is hit. That was fixed in a later firmware tho.
Nice Jam! I wasn't aware that you could use this drum machine as a sampler but the Digitakt would be a good addition to your setup (feeding your GAS :D). Something which prevented me from buying the Digitakt was not being able to expand the Storage.

Point, but you can exchange the samples easily via Overbridge
awesome tutorial, cheers
Hey, did you solve the issue with renaming of rom samples? It was the X.04 bug. Yesterday I updated to newer os and the problem seems to be gone.
I never really followed up whether they have solved the problem or not. But great to hear!
Yeah was def a regression bug in x.04 ◡̈
is there any way to work with different bpms?
Yes indeed, you can use the song-mode and program different BPMs per pattern. I was using this once live.
Mash up the place Mr Renton!!!😎👍
what's "think lc-sampling"??
'Think' by Lyn Collins www.whosampled.com/Lyn-Collins/Think-(About-It)/
