- Twin Turbo Plymouth VIP from FINLAND! These guys are some of the craziest and most dedicated racers we saw at Hot Rod Magazines "Drag Week”! These guys shredded Turbo’s, Cylinder Head’s, and MULTIPLE Transmissions! Dealing with some of the most inconvenient and stressful obstacles not once, but multiple times each…they definitely took the cake when it came to hard work and dedication! Janne Uskali shipped over his 1967 Plymouth VIP from Finland may not have been the most financially rewarding situation, but with all the supports from fans and co-racers alike, they finished out the grueling week of torture with smiles and some incredible memories! Back in Finland, this was the first registered street car to pull off a 7 second 1/4 mile! Unfortunately the team was unable to finish Drag Week, but they stuck around and made exhibition passes on the last day and partied with racers and fans alike, ending the week on a positive note!

When we do something that we have passion for.. We literally never give up. Thats why our ppl is well known to be extremely stubborn :) Can't wait for 2022, maybe then you guys get another team to take part (all depends what does NHRA decide)
Hope to see these guys again, soon. Despite their problems with the car and the driver being injured. They still put on a hell of a show. Top notch sportsmanship. I tip my hat to these guys. Much respect.

Awesome team and awesome car. What's really cool about these boys from Finland and the team from Sweden,they always have a smile and do not "seem" to get discouraged. There's a lesson there for us isn't there. Cudo's to our international brothers and sisters coming to the US for these endurance events.

What a real trooper! This guy had everything go wrong that could possibly go wrong! Other than the thing catching on fire or blowing the rear end..... he broke everything else! Not to mention his eye and leg too! Major kudos to these guys for coming all the way from Finland to bring that big Mopar over here to run it during drag week. He definitely deserved the perseverance award. Determination must be this guy's middle name!
He must also have some pretty Deep Pockets too.
That had to be one seriously expensive trip.... bringing that car here from Finland, and then having it break so many times... and being able to fix it on the Fly, and still actually make it to the final day of drag week? that took some money without a doubt. Very cool Mopar my mother used to have a 66 Fury VIP four-door like that, it had a 383 and a column shifted 727 Torque-Flite. Obviously not a built-up monster like the one in this video. Great job on the video guys!

Love this story!! This is what racing’s all about! A true racing family and community.
Most of us into racing are always down to help the guys doing dragweek. I pulled a head off of my running car to help a guy broke down on the hiway a couple years back....but they made every stop. I'd do it again if it helped.
Hell yeah these guys go hard! Sucks they had so many issues, what a great bunch of guys.

Driver of the car is Janne Uskali. He is a finnish motorcycle stuntman and an editor-in-chief of a finnish stunt motorbike magazine. You could try searching his name in TH-cam. Owners of the car are Jyrki Aukio and Jussi Lahti. They have a facebook page "VIPFlyingFinns".

Too bad for the mechanical problems for the Fins . I have always liked Finnish racers . Kimi Räikkönen and Markku Alén among others were some of my favorite drivers EVER . The Fins grow up behind a steering wheel for the most part . They even hold races with all ages from 15-80 driving Rally cars . That's just AWSUM !

You finally showed my favorite car of dragweek, thank you. BTW that body class in America, is the C body Chrysler's. Check out the Dodge Monaco, the Plymouth Fury and the Chrysler imperial,

Well, actually the C-bodys were extremely common in Finland in the 60:s although most were black 4d sedans. It seemed that every big company or government agency had them for their big wigs. Interestingly even the Plymouths were mostly big block powered by the end of the decade and all mid 70:s Monacos and Royal Monacos had a 440. Extremely rare to see in the US if not a police package. Even the president had a couple of custom built New Yorker limos. So the C-body tradition is very strong in Finland.

The C-bodies debut was in 65 and from there onwards to 78 when Chryslers had the last big run.65-77 Plymouth Fury/Gran Fury 65-73 Dodge Polara,65-77 Dodge Monaco/Royal Monaco65-77 Chrysler Town&Country65-78 Chrysler Newport and New Yorker (Brougham only in 76-78)67-70 Imperial Crown67-75 Imperial leBaronFury, Dodge and Chryslers have also sub models.

Anytime one gets a piece of steel in ones eye do not rub or touch it ! Use a strong magnet and wavy it slowly and close to the eye without touching the eye or the piece of steel and in most cases the magnet will draw it out ! Then go to the hospital ! WEAR EYE PROTECTION ALL WAYS !!!
