It doesn't apply the same way because black people get discriminated and profiled everyday, white people don't have to go through that, but for a white person (who has social privildege) to impersonate a black woman is just wrong. I don't know if people read on the full story but she pretended to be black to get a career boost.

I laughed but then I felt bad about it, because that lady has mental issues, for real, she needs help. If she wanted to change the color of her skin, her haircut if she figured out she would feel more comfortable identifying as a black person, it would be ok I guess, unconventional but ok (like embracing another religion or something). But she created another reality, she tried to convince everyone how she's of black ancestry, how she's been black from the get go, now that's the part where it gets weird.
Here we are, three years later, and some woman in Europe is INJECTING tanners to darken her skin so she's "black", got knocked up, then was STUNNED she did not have a black baby!
When you first watch this, it seems that is not funny ´cause it looks like Maya is taking to much time to answer, but if you look it twice is funnier, because it doesn´t seem is during that long.
I hope nobody will be offended by this. I'd like to educate myself. This is a serious question. I'm realy interested in human behavior. Why do people make fun of this Rachel Dolezal person if she 'feels' like a black person and identifies herself like a black person rather than a white person. Why does this happen when it seems like Bruce Jenner get cheered on and respected when he decides he feels like a woman rather than a man. He was born a man just like she was born white. One gets made fun of on tv the, the other one gets all the love from the late night shows. I haven't seen 1 person on a late night talkshow make fun of Bruce Jenner after his ''transistion''. So you can make fun of 'race identity' but you can't make fun of 'gender identity'?
Kaiser Here's what I think: I don't think you can really "feel" like somebody with really only skin color differences and small differences in the way they look. Black, White, Asian, you can think however you want no matter what race you are. Now with gender identity, there real biological differences in the way males and females think. It's not something you can change. If you find yourself being more comfortable thinking like a female really want to be one, you COULD take a drastic step and change your gender.
Kaiser Bruce Jenner's and Rachel Dolezal's situations are completely different. Jenner wanting to become a woman was her choice. It was a choice that she shared with her family and was not hiding it. Dolezal, however, lied. Plain and simple, lied. She lied about being black, lied about having black parents, and most of all lied to the NAACP.
Kaiser i agree with u. bruce always "felt like" and identified as a woman on the inside. rachael "felt like" and identified as a black person on the inside. both changed their outer appearance. neither can change their genotype (chromosomal makeup). bruce will always have xy chromosomes. rachael will always have the very small part of the chromosome that makes her a caucasian. it is the same. if u cheer one and not the hother, u are a hypocrite. me myself, not down with either one

sharp point
Her mother is the late famous singer Minnie Riperton, who could whistle like Mariah Carey. She's half Black and White.
no, Mariah Carey could whistle like her!
Maya Rudolph is hilarious!
I love Maya Rudolph AND her mom!
Minnie Riperton daughter is beautiful.
Just because you put on a fro wig and get an awesome tan doesn't make you black!
are you talking about Maya? Because her mom is black, the late Minnie Riperton.
I think she's talking about Rachel.
aa70queen01 Maya Rudolph's mother is actually black. Rachel dolezal if that's who you're talking about I agree
boris stop trolling
I'm not trolling, you're just too dumb to respond
She's so cuuute!!!
I died when she pointed at her wig xD
When you first watch this, it seems that is not funny ´cause it looks like Maya is taking to much time to answer, but if you look it twice is funnier, because it doesn´t seem is during that long.
Enrique Munguia Yes that and her facial expressions is what makes it so funny.
Enrique Munguia But you have to admit the Jabba-the-hut chin of hers is more hilarious.
S Thunda it is! she is really funny, and looks like a really cool person to hang out with.
Enrique Munguia she took along time become the race traitor didnt answer the tough questions like "are you parents white?"
Wtf are you talking about?? Lmao
Rachael is a woman who takes herself way too seriously... She needs to lighten up 🙍🏾♀️🙎🏽♀️💁🏼♀️
LOL.

Will. never. get. old.
This was heeeeelarious!!!! She nailed it!
Imma cut this bitsh
Rachel Dolezal I,... I don't understand your comment
Rachel Dolezal Bruce Gender LOL!
Rachel Dolezal Hey Rachel why are you pretending to be black?
I...I don't know what you're implying!
reprezented why are you pretending into being prejudice?
You are the country you were born in. IF you were born in America you are American.
All these other labels are stupid.
YOU stop being ignorant troll.
Sooooo, transgender = yes transracial = no That makes sense.
of course, because the second one doesn't make sense at all
@@SamantaUwU_97Why doesn’t the second one make sense?
It's a blessing to see her mother in her.
She's so talented.
Race is not a state of mind. Well if it is I declare myself a beluga whale or maybe a woodchuck. How about a willow tree or a red-winged black bird.
I actually wanted to hear why Maya thought it was “very fascinating” to her. Maya’s mixed race and it would be interesting to hear her point of view.
Kaiser Look at a comment by a person named The Nopeness in this vid, it is a top comment. That pretty much sums up what I am trying to say.
Can you wreck
Kaiser i agree with u. bruce always "felt like" and identified as a woman on the inside. rachael "felt like" and identified as a black person on the inside. both changed their outer appearance. neither can change their genotype (chromosomal makeup). bruce will always have xy chromosomes. rachael will always have the very small part of the chromosome that makes her a caucasian. it is the same. if u cheer one and not the hother, u are a hypocrite.
me myself, not down with either one
I love her!!!! ☺
lmfao. she is so good
