      Funny, I actually thought that same thing the first time I listened to The Hurting album a long time ago. Never thought in 2022 that feeling would be at least quadrupled by what--IMO--is their best and most complete album yet. Every single song nails it in some way. Insane how good these guys are this. And they seem to make it look easy.

    For as long as I can remember, my teens maybe, these guys have been the soundtrack to my life. Now they're finally back and my god they are giving it some real substance. This song tears through your heart and soul & doesn't wanna let go. Wow incredible lyrics, harmonies and melody. A powerhouse of a tune. This is very rare these days. There has always been something to their lyrics that I connected to and to hear this song in 2022 and remember all those emotions that they created back in the 80s is a complete rush of both nostalgia and optimism for what they can bring to today’s musical scene. I’ll add my thanks to Roland and Curt - timeless and seamless music that evokes so much emotion.

    I'll be honest: 'No Small Thing' surprised me quite a bit.
    It's something different, even with its 60-70s country flavour in the main riff.
    It's iridescent, multifaceted and swaying in its progression and gradually grows to literally explode in the second half.
    These two gentlemen never cease to surprise us.

      If they were a young band they'd be playing it....sadly for many bands, age brings an indifference by the music press. The albums very good and certainly up there with some of the top albums released that year.

    • @mariarohmer2374
      @mariarohmer2374 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@rael1999 I agree 100% on that. I think the problem is if you're not Bruce Springsteen or Bob Dylan then no one is invested in your growth and evolution. So much less press and attention. The album is very deep and cerebral. Seems like the demographic buying most of the music prefers more superficial pop. Such a shame. Will anyone ever give it the proper attention it deserves. I hope so!

    I am a 56 year old man. Loved many Tears for fears songs right from the beginning. The intro I thought oh no they have gone all cheesy country? But the song evolves into a powerhouse. This one one just broke me😂. What a powerful song and message and video. If you do no like this song you have no soul! Another masterpiece of song writing here ! Lyrics are about not letting the child element inside of you go and not to fall in to all the crap that is being preached to us on a daily basis from media etc etc. Lots of metaphors in the Lyrics. That’s the way I love song quality writing. Just Awesome!

      Same I heard it and thought oh geez it's country (as I hate it lol) but it does pick up and the lyrics are so powerful today. It's not new wave power pop which is their strong point but I like this song. It's not country as a whole just the beginning and it's not country just flavour of country. I can't do pure country or rap at all haha 😅

      @@retro_wanderluster9962 Love many Tears for Fears songs. I have noticed many of their songs are what I call building songs. They start of low key and build up to something else. Take this one and Shout for example. Like yourself can’t stand Country apart from a handful of songs. Or rap.

    This is a song that is difficult to explain. When first heard I was uncertain, but now it ranks as one of my all time TFF favourites. It is unlike something you will hear often, it is a song that is enriched with time, it starts simple and then reaches an orgasmic crescendo. It has a depth of soul and character you will struggle to find in any modern music. I am truly grateful. Thanks TFF, JZ.

E vida longa à Roland Orzabal e Curt Smith 👏🏻❤️🤘🏻

Now you come up with THIS and it's still better. The deceiving, totally atypical (for TFF) country-style bit at the beginning, which then grows into this paroxysmal bit ... Guys, your new music is one of the best things to happen in this f***ed-up time.
