Hi Trev and Sue We're just trying to catch up on your vids now we have made it back ourselves. We met some folks in Germany who said that the North and East of Germany were some of their favourite ever places to travel in their van! So we might try that in the next couple of years. Looked like a good start to the trip apart from the pub at Densole. Glad we didn't try it - sounds awful. Why do people let dogs run around in a pub? We stayed at Black Horse Farm and we didn't really like it much - really noisy at the top end. And we found out one of our friends was on a CL just down the road for £10 🤦♂ 😃, so that made it worse. 😃 But a good start for you guys, we will catch up as you go along - Dunkirk looks an amazing place - we've never been. Can't imagine what it must have been like in 1940.
Germany just keeps giving. Wonderful country. We are not particularly happy with the Black Horse Farm campsite for value but it is convenient. A CL or pub stopover would be much better as we don’t stay there long enough to benefit from the facilities or pitch. It’s nice to be under a flood lit area at 5am though. It’s easier to get up and about 😃🚐👍🏻 Trev

There’s always a disappointment there somewhere but we can reflect on it and share with others. My main concern is the safety of families that may be unaware of the rules of this establishment. If your dog won’t roam around with others, you are not welcome. 🤷🏼♂️ I never trust a dog with children, even my own dogs. Yes, onwards and upwards. How lovely to see a picture of your mum Trev and a touching memorial to her. I have to say Smirf does look very shiny, or he did when you set off 😂. We have the usual debate what to take out or leave in for a long trip, I have to be strong sometimes and leave the “just in case” items at home. Lovely tribute to Trev’s Mum. 💐 Can’t believe the pub near Blackhorse Farm … how ridiculous to penalise responsible dog owners like yourselves and Bob & Jenny who keep their pets on a lead! 🤷🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️Don’t they realise many guests & their dogs are travelling overseas and you need to keep them safe!! I would not choose to go there.
@@jillholly6445 We were just astounded by the landlady’s rules. The garden was practically empty with just another couple sitting on an another table. What was her issue?!! And I wouldn’t want my young family to be there with unknown dogs wandering around out of control. Thankfully it was all forgotten the next day when we started our journey to Calais 😃👍🏻🚐 Trev
Hi Trev. Gas check ? Did you have to turn off at the tank ?? We have a onoff solenoid inside the van for the gas tank. Is that good enough or do you have to get underneath the van Thanks Steve H
@@steveharding9365 As long as you can prove that the gas is turned off and the hob will not light, it seems that they are ok with it. I have an isolation valve just under the van but it’s difficult to see so I tell them it’s off and they normally ask me to do the hob test 😃👍🏻 Trev

Traveling down looked ok Canterbury was cheep and dog friendly pubs dogs should be under control stupid way off doing it letting them run about safe trip donny
