Wow, that Sony ST-JX500 stereo tuner has more than meets the eyes and it's quite stylish in the best 80's kind of way. Yes, it packs a lot of cool surprises indeed. Thanks for showing us all of those features in great detail as you always do. :)
Thank you. I don't remember seeing anything about the price when I was researching the video. But my luck, I say that and now I'll go look it up and that will be the first search result. lol
When I was a kid, we had a VCR that had to be tuned to a finite set of channels, rather than just scanning what channels had the best signal and keeping them in memory; it had a set of swappable labels similar to those in this unit, and I bet you could have come up with custom labels like that except they’d be square and quite a bit smaller. Maybe emojis instead of numerals, which would be dumb as hell.
Nifty! Love its unique features and also its styling, a few things particularly the different color buttons and that little slider switch remind me of my old Sony ICF-2010 communications receiver!
I'm a newer subscriber, and wish you all the best and look forward to your next video. That being said, this Sony ST-JX500 is really kind of neat, with unexpected features that you wouldn't really find on something that looks like this. I have a bunch of tuners that I really don't need, so I'll be reticent to buy one, should I see one. On the other hand, it's cool to see that hidden gems like this can be found in the wild for not a lot of dough. Cheers.
There's something really charming about the 80s Sony stuff. Keep the videos coming man!
Cool digital tuner, it will match the older silver stereo components too

Here in the UK, the decline of FM broadcasting means tuners fetch very low prices. Most people listen on DAB or the internet now.
That's unfortunate... but it makes sense.
Nice little tuner. Customizable labels is cool. I did snicker with the Subscribe insert.
I wonder how much this was new.

It’s 🤘 to be on the ground floor of a rad up and coming channel
A Posy post and now this. Old school hifi still gets love.

Congratulations on the thousand subscribers
Thank you! *happy dance
I love this channel keep making these videos. ❤
nice!
Leave it to Sony to make simple things complicated, LOL. They were always extra in their audio equipment.
That checks out.
Well, I mean... you gotta have a thing, right? 😆
You didn't try throwing beads at it to get it's top off, did you?
I tried but it didn't work. lol
