  • Happy New Year! It is now 2024!
In years past, the TeHEP team would be headed off to Jordan during January. But, it's the next chapter in the dig. The main focus now is collating and analyzing the mountain of information that has been collected over the last eighteen-plus years!
This episode of Troweling Down continues the story of the curious pottery and mud bricks that came out of the ground during the early excavation seasons at Tall el-Hammam.

This is an important dig. I'm fascinated by the size of this ancient city and the richness/wealth it enjoyed and the fast-fast-fast total destruction it suffered.

The discovery of trinitite at Tel Al Hamman is a fascinating story of an extraordinary blast of heat and explosion that cannot be explained as coming from any naturally occurring, earthbound process. The evidence of the zircon crystal being formed and being heated so quickly that it began to boil, and then was quenched, all within milliseconds, is so important a discovery that it is beyond me why some folks will mock.
The incalculable damage that one man did bopping around the region without any verifiable scientific tests is scary. This makes me appreciate your efforts all the more. Thank you. You've done a stellar job.

I guess you can say that this was an event of Biblical proportions. I don't understand why there are archeologists who deny this. Bless you, gentlemen

    BRAVO!
Thank you! And praise the LORD for allowing Sodom to come to light.
Question: I’ve heard some naysayers lately. If this is not Sodom, what do they think it is?

Thanks for the accurate and scientific work. The naysayers can't explain this.

God gave us more proof of His destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah. Thank you for persevering and doing the intense research and archaeological digging to find this proof of what happened. Prayers go out to Israel.

Who would have thought? You read and study the text of scripture, and find exactly what you would expect. Good on you!

There's another Bible archeologist that says Tel el Hamman is the ancient city Shittim. What do you think?

    • @paulpaul8953

I assume you are speaking of Joel Kramer. In his (excellent) star prophecy video he refers to archeologists who claim Tel al Hamman is Shittim. Oddly, He does omits to say what ELSE those same archeologists ALSO think Tel el Hamman is... AFAIK Steve Collins and company are the only archeologists to have ever excavated there. I can't find it now, but I have watched U-tube videos where Collins discusses finding Shittim on top of the mound. I am not knocking Kramer, but it appears he is invested in Sodom being located South of the Dead Sea.
I enjoy Kramer's videos. Normally they are rich in scripture, and he walks you through the Bible to back up the video. His 'Star Prophecy' Shittim video is a great example of that. My recollection of Kramer's Sodom video is that it has almost no scripture at all, just the infamous sulfur balls. It would be interesting to hear Kramer's criticism of Collins' method of locating Sodom using scripture. If he has stated it publicly (in an interview or whatever) I have not heard it.

I agree. Kramer has a wonder ministry. BUT he is stuck on, yep, sulphur balls, but also on Sodom described as Jerusalem’s southern sister(sorry forget the verse) with Mt Hermon is the northern sister. He may have said it in interview with Sean McDowell about 9 months ago. He missed the Cosmic aspect. “Southern” is not geographic, but had spiritual meaning.
