Yes, I like what Dr Greger had to say. People like to say that Dr Greger takes things out of context, but he actually is very transparent - he even attaches the documents for you to download and read for yourself and determine yourself (how many other people do that). But most people do not want to think for themselves. That is how I knew the vegan diet (whole plants) was the way to go. Look at the research. It's all there!!!!!

One of the biggest challenges is to have a set menu in the beginning, so you know what to eat in the morning, lunch and dinner. For me it was very difficult to remove the olive oil, it took me a month! I have been in this path for almost a year now, I feel great and everybody in the house loves the food.

Dr. GREG-ER.... You have changed my Life! Thank you Dr. Michael Greger. Your work, and, perhaps most significantly, Your sense of VOCATION, your sense of the Calling that you have had as a young Medical student and doctor, your videos, books, writings, etc..... Please, Please Please know that you are making a Big Difference in Our World by studying, lecturing, and practicing Evidence-based Nutrition. You put it to the Test indeed. As an experiment in truth and self-experimentation, I put you to the test. I tested your Hypotheses. I have discovered, gratefully, that they are almost always true. Thank you for your Medical Science and Nutrition Science work. You are now a true Rock Star..... Don't let it detract from your Love of Kale. You are funny too.... which is just cashew gravy on the salad. God Bless You! Peace

OMG! I tried the high fat (vegan) version of a certain Dr's diet, I did it for three months. I gained 8lbs when I was already obese and when I went to get my blood test like he recommends to see my awesome results I was instead horrified to see scary high triglycerides and liver enzymes that were so bad they sent me back for more tests to see if I had hepatitis or cancer. I also broke out in acne.
I searched some more and tried the diet I could find that seemed to be the complete opposite ( the starch solution) I did that and by the time I came back for my three month follow up (to see if I had hepatitis) I was down 15lbs and all my blood work was in a healthy range

Dr. Greger has great information and a great sense of humor. I'm on a plant based diet and eat mostly homemade whole wheat bread, but also have baked potato slices, oat meal, and whole wheat pasta at times, as well as raw spinach for A/C/D and a bunch of other nutrients. It's very simple and cheap. The spinach is the priciest thing but of course it's one of the most important to round off the nutrients.
I'm trying to get motivation to complete my exercises and continue with the final push for weight loss-only about 5 more pounds!

Love Greger. I'm on the fence about using miso. I love it and have seen Greger's video. I've invented some great sauces using a little miso to add body and saltiness. However, I am finding that it is keeping my desire for saltiness active when eating things that don't have miso. So I find myself sprinkling on a little salt as a result.

25:00 - basically replace foods that are more likely to cause you to be ill with foods that are high in calories that will not cause you to be ill. So replacing meats with mushrooms, seeds, and nuts, then people should crave meat less. But a lot of the reason why people crave meat is more physiological, then biological. There is nothing special in meat for most people that can't be found else where. But in some cases there is some nutrients that a person would come across more often in meat then else where, however only when lacking these nutrients would they start craving a source of these nutrients more often, even after eating lots of nuts and seeds. So if they still crave these foods after eating something high in calories, chances are they have an issue. So like say they couldn't create Taurine themselves, most people can create Taurine in their body, but some can't, or say they ate no processed foods with B12 in, they might start getting cravings of foods where there body instinctively remembers the nutrient they need is in that food. It could just be a lack of calories craving though, so if a person eats a lot of food, but is still having these cravings. At this point they need to get tests done, to make sure they're getting the nutrients found in that which they crave. So get B12 test done, or vitamin D test done, maybe iron or possible check they're able to create certain proteins like Taurine. But most people will never have an issue with this if they're eating right. :)

I am still a little confused on whether we can use milk alternatives such as soy, almond or oat milk and whether we can eat bread made from whole grain.

Vicki plant milks are great especially when they are free of sugar and oil and salt. I don’t recommend bread or flour products

First question was and paleo and keto diet....not about cola or Twinkies..... there are doctors who aren't connected to the big industries who are advocating those diets....why???
