It’s gotta be said that it’s rare to see maxor actually stop cracking jokes and get quite serious during boss fights and such. So for him to do melanias fight with only a few jokes and little to no memes on screen during her fight and cut scenes speaks volumes as to how much more serious he took that fight and how much more respect he had for it.
The next part is most likely going to be the last. Max0r said he wants to combine the dlc and the end of the game. which depending on how long the dlc is, the finale will probably be the longest one yet. (Im Hoping for 40-50 min)
As someone who has played so many souls games, I loved the Malenia fight. There are so many ways of beating her and it makes for such interesting playthroughs
I think playing the video in the corner and your face on most of the screen, is the better one. Some people watch reaction videos so that they watch content WITH somebody, like instead of their mom or whatever. They might enjoy the original video being on the full screen, but those people also try to scold reactors for pausing. I never understood these and I admit I am starting to become a little frustrated with them, especially when they ruin a certain reactors content (like vocably "forcing you" in the little corner). I watch reaction videos because I like hearing others' insight on certain content that I liked in the past or more recently. That's why I'm here. You are among the most intelligent and sophisticated reactors I know. Keep it up! And here's hoping that you stay like this, for a little more time at least...
If you're genuinely curious, the music you said sounds like zelda or smash bros music is actually Granblue Fantasy. I recommend checking out that franchise's music. There are some real bangers.
@@whatitdodave the specific song is Gran's theme from the fighting game, Granblue Fantasy Versus and Versus Rising. Also hope you're enjoying ReLink. It's a great game.
Max0r is wrong about Malenia being a "Demigod" in the second phase. She is literally stated to be the "Goddess of Rot," so you're actually killing a god in her second phase.
The whole thing is a little weird, lorewise. Both of the twins are demigod empyrions, and as of the bloom at the end the outer god of rot sealed in Caelid that effectively sponsors Melania gave her full godhood, but she doesn't seem fully matured yet. Also says in the game that you've killed a demigod at the end of the fight, hopefully it gets cleared up in the DLC, otherwise it's gonna just be speculative like so much other souls lore.
@@tehrickles1447 i believe lore wise they state she wont achieve full godhood unless until after she blooms 3 times or something.. but the war against radahn was 1 and her fight with you was 2nd. if she did it one more time it ment godhood 100% i forgot all the tiny parts of lore that connect to that. ut its on those lore vids
@@jabbawookeez01 we see the remains of the Caelid one in the swamp of aeonia, we see a second one in a room near the boss fight, and then she blooms a third time in our fight, turning her into, as her second phase title says, the Goddess of Rot
@@DashBolt we can’t say for sure that, bloom near malenia’s room is hers there’s no definitive answer but there more evidence against it rather than supporting it. So far From what we can 100% say for sure is she’s had 2 Blooms and hasnt had her 3rd
The worst thing about Malenia is that... despite her telegraphs on her moves, she has very similar telegraphs for pairs of attacks. So the telegraph for Waterfowl Dance is very, very similar to the telegraph for another attack. And it's legitimately RNG when she pulls them out. You can guarantee at least one Waterfowl in a Stage 1 Fight, but you can get up to four, depending on how long you take.
As someone who has played the other Souls games all the way back to Demon's Souls, I have not fought Malenia yet and I am terrified of fighting her. It will be the biggest, "Alright, it's time to lock in," moment in gaming for me. I have beaten Uncharted 3 and 4 on Crushing difficulty, felled Slave Knight Gael in two attempts, and survived impossible odds in almost every game I've ever played. I'm even pretty good at parrying, and I am horrified of my first encounter with Malenia.
Malenia reminds me of Midir from DS3, both extremely easy bosses that for some reason got the reputation as being super hard. Still no idea why either of them are considered harder than your average boss.
I mean, I'm going through Dark Souls 3 again(Like just a physical copy of the fire fades edition, without the original console or internet) after 6 years, and it feels like I'm lost in a hostile fever dream XD
She took me a TON but then again I've always had trouble with the humanoid bosses though usually because of that they're some of my favorites. Maria comes to mind, she's probably my favorite humanoid fight. But a boss like Ludwig took me like 4 tries even though most people I know struggled with him a ton and I heard nothing but terror about him before I fought him myself.
@@Bigdude0444 People who play Fromsoft games fall into 2 categories, humanoid killers or beast killers. You either struggle on Ludwig for 60 tries then 2nd try Maria, or vice versa.
Start your vids in the usual way, but when you 'shut up and turn it up', move to the mini-you - I think it looks great... then end the vid back in Big Dave mode. That's my 2 cents anyway :D
@@Retro_Rainer I think he meant it as an answer to Dave‘s question during the video of if people would like the usual format or the corner overlay he showed here.
Please react to PTX again. How about going to the beginning of PTX. The sing off, season 3, and include the judges' comments. You will find the original pentaholic, Shawn Stockman, and the original Mitch slap. There's 14 performances, the grand finale, all of the opening songs, the Christmas shows, and when they come back for the season 4 finale. Just remember to go in order, but 4 is where they get the start, and 7, 10, and 12 are the beast. 10 might hurt you, but 12 is going to finish you. Enjoy. 😂
I remember I heard horror stories of this boss, then when I got to it I did not have that much issue with her. I have more issue with the grafted scions then her. Also in my opinion I still think Orphan of Kos from Bloodborne is harder then her.
So, Malenia's VA is Cottontail. Look up her...previous roles at your own risk.
Actually more of my friend's know her from her recent sfw collabs, rather than early early roles.
I KNEW I RECOGNISED HER
From I’ve read in other comments she mostly does nsfw content but has done a number of sfw things doing freelance VA work for other creators.
I mean don't act like you've never heard some of the shit Dan Green was known for before Yami Yugi
