Worth to mention, open your old actuator if you find rust you must check the second part of the breathing hose which goes from the hard tube in the chassie to the breathing valve close to the battery, the problem with that it is tight and have tendency to break from the hard line side. This mistake cost me two actuators in less than a year. The hose must be replaced with a little longer and a strong hose. Thanks for the great content.
When I have my first first '07 FJ cruiser. I had a similar problem. But all the ad actuators will have this problem. Eventually. Toyota does not solder the electric motor that turns the gears whenever you put it in the four-wheel drive which will slide the sleeve to the left or to the right depending on if you're going into four-wheel drive or out of four-wheel drive. I actually took mine apart. Tested the motor and it actually worked. It was just that the tabs been away from the connection and it would not allow it to have connection. So I end up soldering the tabs and never had a problem again. Plus I took the gears apart and put new lithium Grease inside the case. Resealed it.
Just did my Tacoma with same setup. Didn’t drop the differential and got it done but that 4th bolt took forever to get off and on. Used a 1/4 ratchet with 12 mm socket one click at a time and a deep socket with 3/4 ratchet to tighten down. Why don’t they give you enough room to work, only need 1/2 inch more space to get my fingers in to turn it. But I got it done thanks for Video !!!!
My 11 was sticking in 4th. Added Amsoil Severe Gear. Shifts like butter now. I’m not affiliated with the company, but that Severe Gear is pretty good chemically with its additives.
Could you create a video discussing sway bars? Specifically, I'm interested in whether the FJ Cruiser performs better with or without them, considering they tend to break frequently. Additionally, is there a solution, such as a sway bar disconnect, that could address this issue?
Took my 07 to fix a leak on the transfer case. They told me at the shop to activate 4wd occasionally because the actuator can go bad. I told him that my vehicle was full-time 4wd and he didn't believe me. So, as of right now, I don't think the MT has an actuator.
The 6speed mt at least has a transfer case position sensor that can go bad if not used often. I shift mine into 4 low and move alittle bit at least every 3-4 months (mines not a daily driver) Also using the locker that often helps make sure it continues to not freeze up and quit working.
Noticed you have most of your consual filled with switches that are normally blanks from the factory. Where do you purchace these? Everyone I have bought are too large to fit.
There are companies that sell switches/buttons that are designed to fit the OEM spaces, or you can even find and utilize OEM switches for aftermarket things like lights. Check out ch4x4.com/ for some options when it comes to aftermarket buttons.
Hey FJX2000!!! I recently fell in love with your channel and I've been slowly cathing up on your old videos. I really hope to be a future FJ Owner and get one as my first car (been told it's a bad idea but idc) and my budget is tight, just maybe 10,000 dollars, and I'm looking for one with relatively high mileage. I've been looking a lot on Facebook Marketplace and have been finding decent deals there. Any recommendations on a good spec for an all rounder? year, color, etc?
Do you have the part number for the 4wd sensor? That might be the issue for me. The mechanic claims they replaced my actuator but still not working. I now am trying to fix this myself.
So the vent tube originally would've been connected to the actuator, but when mine broke off, and I put a screw in the tube to keep it clear and a sealed the actuator with silicon.
Question: Will the new actuator always move during the test? I have purchased two units and none of them move when I simply plug in the new actuator to do the test you did on minute 7. Hopefully someone can help. Thanks!

Yeah I haven't taken mine apart yet but I'm curious what might be going on inside!

Well done, Hayden. Liked and shared the video. Glad after all these years, you're still making FJ Content.
Of course! Thanks!

good job. my next job is removing a 1 inch diff drop and you showed that pretty well. .
Thank you for this instruction video! Well done!
Thanks for information. I have a 08 fj. Something to look out for
Wait...what is that light mod you have to light up the buttons better? That's great!
Here is a write up I did on the forums! www.fjcruiserforums.com/threads/center-console-under-radio-flex-leds-install.505849/
@@FJX2000_Productions Thanks Hayden!

Love your steering wheel! What did you do to get that look?

Very interesting and informative
.thanks for posting
Have you changed out the driver's side front differential bearing yet?
Nope no diff bearings replaced. I have had to change the front diff seals but not the bearings thankfully.

Hi,question in Colorado for the Fj cruiser from 2010 to 2014 what gasoline should be used, the 87 octane or the 91?

Did your vent tube have a check valve on it originally or just a screw plugging it? Just curious. I've got a 2013 and love it. Good video.

My 4WD dash light is delayed for turning on. Is this an issue to be concerned with?
How many miles did you get off of those Baja Boss'?
Im looking at getting those 255/85/17 bbat for my 1st gen tundra. I was wondering if they ride rough since they are a Load E? Do they seem stiff?
I don’t notice them being too stiff, but I guess it depends on what tire you’d be coming from in comparison.
@@FJX2000_Productions i have a bfg ko2 285/70/17 load c but my truck is 6500lbs with everything so probably wouldn’t hurt to have load e
Did you make it to RMTR24
Why is there a breather into sealed box with electrics in? Dosnt make sense to me
Another solid video, Hayden. We released a portable Jump starter. Can we invite you to do a review? We have emailed for an inquiry.
Had the opposite problem, it wouldn't come OUT of 4WD... bad transmission and engine mounts
