I took science in grade 11th but something in me wasn’t happy about it and so I thought and thought over and over again about it and finally decided that I wanna change my stream from science to arts or “humanities” and to be honest am happy with my decision now.

Hey! My name is Hitika a girl who likes coffee even at 12am and would take the long route to listen to some good music 🎶well that’s all besides the point am just a twelfth grader and all I do is study! Took arts after taking science to pursue what I love that is creating more videos but not just videos... videos which convey a meaningful message something that makes you feel good about yourself and hopefully this place becomes something positive and impactful.

I've been in the sciences for a long time (in high school and university), and I feel very unhappy in the field, despite the high grades and high praise from everyone. I am seriously considering switching to the arts, and when you mentioned how you were scared that you couldn't live the life you envisioned for yourself, that really resonated with me and was my most favorite part of your video. Love d part about how your percentage defines you post boards n also how if you get a halfway decent percent, you are automatically put in science and everyone gets this shocked look when you tell them that you're taking humanities....

Note to self: YOU MUST GO FOR WHAT MAKES YOU HAPPY WITHOUT A 2ND THOUGHT. Please you must never ever keep on doing what makes you feel depressed. If you don't like a subject you must pursue it because the chances of you succeeding in that field is less. But if you go on and study something that you like, trust me you'll shine bright and will be able to give yourself the life that you desire. You'll be happy (which is the priority), you'll have job satisfaction and you'll have the lifestyle you desire. Never do anything that takes a toll on your mental health cause it's not worth it.
I ve been an average student who studied at the last moments and got got good grades without focusing on studies much and doing many different kinds of things in my life which i really enjoyed as it made me Happy, but as i got in 10 th grade pressure for marks and expectations began to grow, i was forced to attend tutions and my evening time was no longer mine ,at the end its exactly what you said i too wasnt happy with the marks i scored(90 percent) i realized i gave up far too much for just this much, and made up my mind to take science (pcm) i didnt realized it that it would be such a blunder .. how it would come back to bite me later on .. for a while i had been fucking depressed , i am a person who wants to explore life and experience many diiferent kinds of things , and after 12 pursue language course in Japanese as ive always been fascinated by the Japanese culture . and fir fucks sake i cannot do anything right now in my head its all messed up my evening time is all wasted in tutions , even at school in the name of rushing syllabus one cannot understand a single shit even when i try to pay attention in class , teacher only tell you in class and understanding in tutions sad truth....and ive been in deep thought for few months now , and ive decided to switch to humanities and start giving myself more time .. no worrying about tutions. As i can do language course even with humanities and i save around 72k from tutions , i m not happy and not satisfied with the way ive spend my time this year but i dont want this regret be with me for the rest of my life.. . So ive made up my mind to switch to humanities .. is it possible??

Hey man, did it work out, could you do it. I'm just as confused too. I'm about to finish my 11th now. But switching to humanities 12th, from science 11th, would be pretty hard and just a bad descension right? Because I'll have so much to catch up? Would love to know about this by you too Hitika.

You need to decide what you are going to do after 12, higher education..
In a good 6 months you can cover entire 12 th humanities syllabus, only if you are dedicated to what you are willing to pursue for higher education ,it won't be much of a problem,

It's just been 4 days of 12th Classes and I no more think that it's for me I'm not fiting in this stream I've always been a good student who studies for hours but at this point I'm anxious I'm scared idk what I'm I suppose to do now :) wish I would've taken humanities/arts in 11th itself.

@@CAverageBrain as the subjects are interesting for me and I do not have to go through any guides because the NCERT language is the most easiest . Less time consuming . I don't have to attend lot of tuitions . I have taken eco (only tuition I have ) , political science, English, physical education and painting . And trust me In humanities also we have to study vast syllabus . Craming do not helps at all because we have to write answers in our own language and a certain word limit.but I can say not tiring and pressurable as commerce ☺️☺️☺️☺️☺️ .
@@parulverma4707 aww, seems like it went great for you, I'm in science 11th currently. Had to choose this stream because of my parents you know? But now that I've realised it's not my atrem of interests I am open to switching. I was worried about how it could go. Going from science 11th, to 12th humanities, I'll have to catch up to they're whole year. That's what you had to do too right? You studied 11th completely in commerce and 12th humanities? How hard was it to catch up the whole 11th, or did you even have to?
@@CAverageBrain ( sorry for the long reply 😅) yes it was hard because except eco all the subjects were new . I haven't studied political science and physical education . But I don't have to study anything from class 11 because the whole books are different in 12th . There was a little bit pressure but I coped up . because nothing is impossible if you want to achieve it . * WHY I DON'T WANTED TO DO COMMERCE IN +2* because even taking coachings for 2-3 hrs doesn't helped as I got compartment in accounts and business studies . My school accounts teacher also was not good . No one likes her as she don't give you marks if you don't take tuitions from her . So ya she doesn't even gave me passing marks . It was demotivating. And tuitions are also very expensive . 1000-2000 rs or more each month for each subject . Devoting a lot of time and money but still don't get good results is quite depressing and I literally cried sometimes alone. We all want to make our parents proud but ... Now it's going smooth .
And yes you should change your stream if you are not interested . Because this is the right time . I changed my stream in 12th which is quite late . Just convince your parents . I'm sure they will understand . But I wanted to ask in what stream you are actually interested ??
@@parulverma4707 Well, you see I have a wide range of interests, history ( quite a lot) economics, and world politics. And a lot lot of writing, preferably English. And a drive to learn new languages. These are my interests, but I'm not sure If I should go with them you see. Because I score most in science and math, even though they weren't my interests. And you must know about science and the coaching centers right. I joined a jee coaching school, so they don't much focus on the cbse board as much as exam preparation. We've already paid the complete fees, so I thought I'll do my 11th here, than go back to my old school, and quite a lot my friends have the same idea too lol, so it'll be fun. And I thought, if I do 11th in science, it'll be better for me to complete science than switch streams, because catching up would be hectic. Anyway, I hope to actually persue my interests after 12th, because it's only two years of science right (11th and 12th) how bad could it be.
Hey!Thanks for you story! But Am so confused with it. I'm in 11th. I could have taken science but I was super scared at that time so I took arts. And I don't know why but each day I don't like how people around me are saying " Bad decision" Now I started doubting myself.i like science and also humanities . Sometimes it's makes me cry a little harder.Even watching your vdo I was weeping to switch science. There is so much chaos going on my mind. I can't make up my mind. 😭

omg Im going through something like that too... dw tho... do what you love and what you're good at. Research properly about the opportunities in each stream. Get to know yourself better .

Mere bhi 92% aaye thee(pre boards me kabhi 60 bhi nhi aaye) teachers ne apne mn se mera naam science ki list me likh diya ....... Parents ne bola beta jo lena he lelena or mene 9th me soch liya tha humanities lunga ....... Ab science pdh raa huu or tragedy ki baat ye he kii science smjh me bhi aari he lekin mujhe humanities lena he 12th me ....... Thora funny lg ra hoga lekin.......😭😭

I wanted to take humanities but I was lacking for motivation and now after watching this video I am Damm sure that I am gonna take humanities for sure
What are your plans after 12th
Well , me and my dad always wanted me to opt for arts after 10th but can't imagine m studying for science 11-12 (today 2020-21 12th exams r cancelled)
So....We then we're decided to take humanities after 12th (for Prep of upsc ..dream job of being an IAS officer)
So let's see ...The result (alternative criteria) is yet to come ...n M damn excited to study humanities after a long 2years of studying science ( 1.5 years lockdown 😶)
I don't know weather it will be a good idea or not but if that satisfies me then I won't regret it.
Seriously if you love that go with it it's gonna take a high toll on you if you didn't opt for wat you find good. Like seriously it's shit . Just do it with full passion

I'm now in 12th class . I had done commerce in 11th . But I really don't feel happy , interested and passionate with this stream . And nearly passed in accounts , bst . But ya I scored good in economics . But I hate accounts+business studies. So ya , I'm changing my school now as I'm taking humanities this year in 12th . because humanities is not available in my school . I know it will be a little new and different for me but I know I will score good percentage because all the subjects are of my interest and passion . I can study very hard because of the intrest in the subjects and I don't have to attend tuitions because I always scored better marks by self study . I really appreciated your video your stream was science and my was commerce but rest everything will be same .❤️❤️❤️❤️👍👍👍👍 . Keep it up and thanks to give positive vibes

@@amishachandel9137 humanities have vast syllabus . It's not like you study before exam and score well . You have to study daily and put a lot of effort on revision .it is easy if we put efforts otherwise tough .but ya I think you will be less burdened ,can have subjects of your interest and do not have to take lot of coachings and will get habitual to self study . Which will be useful in college time .main study source is ncert .do not have to waste money on tuitions and guide books (except eco and english no need for guides) .

Yeah I too have the same question. I want to take up Arts in college. Well I have had PCM in class 12. I just wanted to know about the problems Science students have to face while switching to Arts from Science. But till now I had had no luck in finding a video about such topic. Why is TH-cam filled with only Science and Commerce? Is Arts too bad a stream to take up? Or is it most people just ignore this stream?

I can relate to u somewhere bcz i m 11 just started confused between taking science(pcm) amd humanities with maths..
Idk what i am going to do but just want to do something new and creative but i want to study physics too and when i read books of history nd sociology of arts stream i got to know about the reality and i found it intresting too but i m confused that i should leave the pcm or not bcz this thing scares me dont know why? A lot. First, the job market is really not that appealing for arts students. You'll most likely be jobless, if you are average.

Instead, I've been downloading books about egyptian and hittite civilizations and got further interested in their studies. What do you suggest? Well If you like studying and knowing more about biology am sure you'll be able to make it but just make sure you have the desire to study for 5-6 hrs a day atleast. Because the competition is a Hella lot. And there's a lot of material to go through... I would suggest you to first decide what you wanna do in future to make your living and then accordingly decide your stream.
I have started studying pcmb actually...and ukw....its all in ur brain tbh...if u think its tough it will be tough
I am managing pretty good without tutions (certified topper speaking) so dont get intimidated by science

Mam i am currently a science student but i got 61 in science and my school teacher rachna made a complain to remove me from science and i am currently depressed and decided to take humanities but my father only persuades me to only work hard and in my pov i can't do science now but my father doesn't understand that there is lot in humanities if any tips from your side comes plz do tell and i can fell bit motivated to convince my father to change my stream to arts

Only problem here is u don't have good arts base for class 12 as u missed class 11 which is summary of 6to 10 and it contains alll most important basic things of arts

I am currently in 11th PCb but I found no interest in it. I have no plans with biology. I am always wanted to take arts bcoz I am interested in it from class 6th but my neighbour brainwashed me. She made me believed that science is everything, in arts there is no future.
