Hi @codybear702 - Sorry for the dealyed response. You have to upgrade to CS v8.1 to get it. The "remove a color" feature didn't come out until that version.

Hi @plushmaster12 - It's only available in Camtasia Studio v8.1 and above. If you don't currently see it, you'll likely need to upgrade. :)

this is a really good video but my camtasia editing software does not have the remove a color option in the visual properties?!?!

There's no field wich means "Remove Color"
Sorry for the delayed response. But, you have to use Camtasia Studio version 8.1 or higher. Then you'll see it. :)

Hi 123whitesnake - You have to be using Camtasia Studio v8.1 or above. Then the "Remove a Color" checkbox will appear.

I'm a little confused. When you removed the green there was still a lot of green outlining you. But then all of a sudden the scene changed and the green was gone. How did you edit that green border?
Yea, I'm a little bit disappointed too. The trick is: when you remove green color, you have to play a little bit with those options- if you click on the 'remove a color' button, under there are some options like Tolerance, Softness, Hue and Defringe. You have to play with this Tolerance option- the more you turn it right- the more green color will disappear. But if you go too far- the whole movie might disappear. Hope that will help
Hi I have been having an issue where i cannot use .gif files in my videos and i really want to use them for a few projects in the near future. I keep inserting gif files and they're properties say that there are no frames? I have used these gifs before and only on camtaisa they do not work. Please help I really want to get working again
You can't really use GIFs
So you need to download the Green Screen videos(Like Snoopp Dogg Green screen) to have a GIF

i want to take the green screen off, but then invert colour but at the same time so then it can be a colour of a background you have and without the green screen, i cant doo that, any advice?
Hello Great video! I have been successful at using green screen, however when I do my voice does not sync with the video! I just added a simple image background. On a regular video without green screen my voice syncs, it only happens when I add the green screen. Any ideas??

At 3:24 when you remove the color and have the green fringe around you, why do you then fade the screen and when the screen fades back in your have a better color removal? Did you even use Camtasia? If so, what effects did you apply?
Hi @blacky9803 - Though I haven't tried red, technically it should work with a "red screen," as well. The main thing is to have a backdrop that is distinct from anything else in the shot. The reason being that when you choose the color to remove in the background screen, anything else that has that same color (or which approximates it in shading) will also be affected by the "remove a color" filter.
Hi @SwolVyrexGames - I think I understand what you're saying... a transparent background? (a.k.a. Using an "alpha" layer.) I haven't actually tried it using Camtasia, but I think would be worth a try. Let's see what I come up with. :)
Hi @AmaanSiddiqui1 - Yes! The fix is to simply upgrade to CS version 8.1. The green screen effect ("remove a color" feature) was only recently released in the 8.1 update on June 18. 'Hope that helps!

@plushmaster12 - Green wall works. Though, check Amazon for green screens... they're probably less expensive than shelling out for new wall paint.

@plushmaster12 - The Remove a Color feature was new in version 8.1 You simply have to upgrade to CS v8.1 and you'll be good to go. :)

Every time I do this, there is a green surrounding the object in the green screen. How can I remove multiple colours from a video? I can remove it, but then the other green will appear, if you know what I mean.
this happen, because the illumination source you are using, is only in front of you, and you drop a shadow in the green screen behind you and surrounding your body, then it darken the color, as much that the program tolerance threshold, cannot separate it, without subtract some other non desired color, when you move in front the camera, the shadow you project behind you ,, moves with you. that is the green cannot be removed, following your silhouette. To solve this, you must add 1 or more illumination sources also behind you, to keep the green screen tonality unaltered, because your shadow will be neutralized.
