GTA 5 FIX SCRIPTHOOK V ERROR AFTER UPDATE (ROCKSTAR LAUNCHER)

- This video shows you how to fix GTA 5 Scripthook V Critical Error due to an update of GTA 5. As I could only find tutorials about fixing this for the Epic Games and Steam launcher, I've made one for the Rockstar Launcher.
The way I demonstrate worked for me! But I can't guarantee it will work for you ass wel, I hope it does!

IMPORTANT! The method of patching the older version to get the workaround working has changed a bit for the newer version of the launcher! Follow the exact same steps which worked for me (and for you hopefully as well):
1. Download the newest patch files of the GTA 5 executables: drive.google.com/file/d/19WBALJFkkquqDighTOrIQx8Oj9pL89nS/view?usp=sharing
2. Open Rockstar Games Launcher (open the launcher of Rockstar Games itself in general, so not by the GTA 5 shortcut!)
3. Let it update the game, press Play, you'll get the Scripthook Fatal Error.
4. Close the game.
5. Start the Rockstar Games Launcher again.
Now the MOST important thing is to come, otherwise it WON'T work:
6. Copy the GTA 5 executables from the ZIP. Paste them in the main directory of GTA 5, and wait till you get the confirmation to overwrite the files! DONOT overwrite them yet! This is really important! Before you confirm to overwrite, you have to click the PLAY button first!
7. Click the PLAY button.
8. Immediately after clicking PLAY, confirm to overwrite the executable files in the main directory!
9. Now the launcher doesn't check for the update anymore. The game launches!
You have to repeat the steps everytime you want to play the game!
It is really important to overwrite the files in the main directory after you clicked the PLAY button. Keep a seperate window open for example, to drop the files immediately after clicking play. Why? Because the launcher checks if the game is updated when you hit the PLAY button. If it sees older files, it needs to update. When you overwrite the files immediately after clicking PLAY, it doesn't see the older files anymore!

Script hook Developer is dead? why don’t have update?
My experience is it usually takes him 1-2 weeks to release a new update. Rockstar usually updates on the 15th of the month. You can see the last release of scripthook was on July 23. So that means it took about one week to release a newer version of scripthook. It's just a guess tho.

Got the Scripthook error again today because GTA 5 has been updated again! Unfortunately, it seems my provided solution does NOT work anymore with the new launcher.. I'm figuring out if there's any workaround for this.
I tried this, then when I hit play it STILL gave a pop up saying I need to update. I unplugged my ethernet and it didn't budge. So I hit update and of course it said "must be on line to update".
But is this still needed? I mean meanwhile scripthook v has already been updated and you can simply update scripthook v now and play the game online. Or is there another reason you want to launch offline?

It could be that the video i posted on this is out of date. It might be Rockstar games have been updating the launcher and have made it more difficult to bypass it
I’m trying your version as another TH-cam video I’ve tried my game don’t make jt past the loading screen. When I try your method I hit the play button and it does nothing..I do think I have a few files I need to remove that might be causing the issue
I think I had this too one time (but not the moment of making the video). I hit the play button and right after it said "quitting" and didn't start the game.
I then removed all the files from the main directory of GTA5 (except the folders, so only the DLL files, executables etc). Then did a game file integrity verification via the launcher. Thereafter it did the update as well. So it now got the original files in the main dir. Then follow the steps of my video again and check if it will work. The verification of game file integrity will look for any corrupt or missing files.

@@facismsupporter550 Thanks! I wasn't sure if this would help other people as well, cause it could be something locally on my PC which made it work. I'm glad it looks like this solution works for other people as well.
Doesn't work through Steam. The Rockstar games launcher recognizes the game was purchased via Steam and launches through Steam. Once the game launches, it asks for a CD key and when I enter the CD key that came with my purchased copy on Steam it says it's already in use.
Rockstar fuckin sucks.

@@tunneledbyvermin yeah it sucks. My video is based on the original Rockstar launcher, so not steam or epic games launcher. There are other tutorials for the steam version, maybe they can help you?
it just kicks me out the game after some time,cant load in the actual game
Ah that's sad.. I'm now playing for more than one hour with the method I applied to fix it. Looks like for some people it worked and for some not. It can be that you have something specifically different than me which makes you kick out of the game. Are you using the original Rockstar Launcher?

@@niku6151 If you meant that after selecting story mode, and it kicks you out after loading some while, it can be some game files are corrupt. I had this too. In that case, make sure to use the launcher to verify integrity of game files (you can do this under "Settings" -> Grand Theft Auto V -> Verify game file integrity, in your launcher.
It makes sure there are no corrupt files which can make the game crash. Please also remove all scripthook stuff from your main directory before doing this tho. Then the launcher will update everything again, and then you can follow the steps of my video in order to downgrade GTA5 (and install scripthook back again). Also make sure the provided Update.rpf gets downgraded as well.

Not really. But you could try out that workaround I'm explaining in my video :)

Yeah I see it works out a different way for everyone. For one people it works, for the other it won't.

Did you get an error? Or just the game exiting without notice?
Scripthook has been updated, so you can use the updates version and install as you would normally do
