Beautifully done and you have 2 quilts out of it. Your hard work is appreciated and I am from Hawaii.
So nice to see someone using a stapler! (I use one too!) Care must be taken to ensure that it does not catch the threads...but it is an easy, practical and secure way to keep things from shifting.

Hawaiian quilts have a 1/8 fold design; this 1/4 fold makes it a Tahitian quilt (tifaifi).
Yes, that could be said. Thank you for watching & commenting. There are a few reasons I use a 4 layer fold. The first one is, because there is a layer of fusible on the fabric, it is too difficult to cut 8 layers W/ fusible. Second the 90 degree design allows more design freedom. The third, I started this as a set of patterns called "All Around Applique" featuring cats & dogs, Christmas themes, and more! (Link below) Over time, I quit correcting everyone when THEY called it Hawaiian. Thank you for seeing it, and being inspired by it enough to talk about it.

Its considered taboo to use more than two colors in a true Hawaiian quilt, just a tid bit of information for you.

Yes, I am very slow to finding this comment and replying. I believe, it is not so much taboo, as it was lack of options. Yes, the norm, the historical Hawaiian Quilt, was made from 2 colors. Go to the general store on Maui, in 1910, how many choices did you have? I do not know that answer, just proposing the theory. My favorite Hawaiian Quilt taboo, is to never put a seam down the middle of the quilt, as it breaks a couple apart.

Pfaff, and old one... from around 2000. The Pfaff machines have the best "design your own stitch" features. Many other machines offer "merge this stitch with that stitch" but it doesn't appear as flexible as start with a blank screen.
